Who is Maher's audience? No one I know, right or left, likes him in the slightest.
But goddamn he sounds like the most privileged POS out there.

New theme music also a boxHe is.
I remember when the Right targeted Bill Maher out of retribution for one of those "celebrity loses their job over shitty things they said/tweeted" scandals. I want to say it was James Gunn's brief firing from Disney, but I can't recall.
In any case, the Right hatched a retaliatory plan to get Bill Maher fired for his own shittiness. But then the Left was just like, "Absolutely! Have at it! Take him down! We'll even support you!" And the Right just felt super-awkward and dropped it.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.As a centrist, I can say with confidence we don’t claim him either.
It's been 3000 years…I think it was over Roseanne getting her show canned after her "choice" remarks.
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.I’m going to guess he’s friends with people high up in the HBO scheduling hierarchy and therefore has Protection from Editors.
Oh, that's right. I think it was Roseanne.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.In an epic 45-minute video, Cody describes the entire Trump-Ukraine scandal.
Hey, America? Can ye just, like, get rid of the Republican Party somehow?
Ukrainian Red CrossAs much as approxmiately half of us would like to, the short answer is no.

To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Cody assembles data on the weird voodoo curse that causes every Trump supporter to either commit crimes or get screwed over.
Ukrainian Red CrossThis is hilarious, more so if you've been regularly following this series.
Less so if you're not into Star Wars
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Yeah, I'd say you'd need to have seen the prequel and at least have a general idea of what happens in the rest of the movies to fully appreciate this one. Also be up to date on US politics, but if you're following a US current events channel...
That said, I am familiar with all of that, so I found it hilarious. It's also easily the most impressive thing they've done from a production standpoint, which is kinda weird

Cody kicks off the new year by analysing the most pressing global issue of January 2020 - THE BOARS!
So that's two joke ones in a row?
Think Cody's starting to get burned out? Like, this show has to be taxing both in terms of effort and just psychologically stressful.

This one has a pretty clear point—It's using a ridiculous issue to show how anti-immigration rhetoric cherry-picks and distorts facts
Also I feel like they didn't want to try to do something topical with the Iran thing still going on
Edited by Hylarn on Jan 10th 2020 at 1:21:27 AM
Also, the comments on YouTube indicate that quite a few patrons wanted more boar stuff.
Ukrainian Red CrossCody recaps the first week of 2020, mostly about Iran. I like how his beard grows back as he slowly abandons his goal of being more positive.
Cody takes a look at that far-left SJW cuck, Pope Francis. Contains some dark humour about the child abuse scandal. Also David Christopher Bell is clearly on a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles kick.
Oh my God, this guy IS the same Cody from Cracked!
How did I miss that!? Oh wait, I didn't read the first post. Totally on me. XP
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. So this is great. I've discovered Some More News though this thread. In November if I remember correctly, and I've been devouring it ever since.
I actually hated Cody's voice at first — when he screams, it makes me wanna gauge my eyes out, but the content is amazing. I'm very sensitive to sounds... so it's little short of a miracle that I kept watching. ;-)
My favourites:
- The Dystopian Reality Of All Those "Inspirational" Stories Absolute highlight, and the worst, most terrible issue... I actually knew a lot about America's health insurance issues because it popped up a lot in one internet magazine articles which I was reading some years ago, and it creeps into some American shows I watch. But I had no idea there are uninsured children. Children! Or that it concerns majority of people (who might have some insurance but even one minor operation like gallbladder removal costs them an arm and a leg; or that people use crowdfunding for medical expenses, or that people can swap sick days with other people in their job). It's like why and what for Americans even pay taxes...
- Climate Refugees One of the best take on climate change. Mind-blowing news: the planet is going to be just fine. Cockroaches will thrive. It's people who will have problems and are going to struggle to survive.
- Perhaps Ben Shapiro Shouldn't Be Taken Seriously By Anyone About Anything I was not famialir with this clown at all... but boy, was it hilarious. And also scary — why does a person like this have such a strong voice?

- 7 Ways The Media Sure Is Freaking Out About Bernie Sanders
Edited by XFllo on Feb 12th 2020 at 4:15:10 PM
It's strikingly similar to how the media treats Corbyn in the UK, Iglésias in Spain or Mélenchon in France… though those lean further on the left than Sanders (at least I assume, I don't know Sanders' platform very well). Regarding Step 6: Making Shit Up, accusations of antisemitism are also frightingly common against leftwing leaders, no matter how objectivey absurd they are.
That said, I am surprised that you can run for the Democratic Party without being a party member.

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.
Here's some news!
Before Cracked got bought out by EW Scripps who immediately laid off almost all the site's employees, they produced a news commentary show called Some News, hosted by Cody Johnston. I've seen it frequently compared to The Daily Show and The Colbert Report; I've never seen the former of those, but I do know that Some News was the absolute funniest thing on YouTube thanks to sharp writing and Cody's impeccable timing and delivery.
Unfortunately, Cody was one of the casualties of the buyout. While everybody else went over to The Modern Rogue, Cody and Katy Stoll revived Some News with the help of Patreon as Some More News, and it just keeps getting better and more insightful. The highlight for me is a four-part series about why Donald Trump is actually, literally, without exaggeration, a fascist. And not fascist in the sense of somebody with ideas I disagree with - no, Cody meticulously documents how Trump's governance mirrors that of Benito Mussolini.
There's also a podcast, Even More News, which is an unscripted discussion show where Cody and Katy discuss recent news, occasionally joined by fellow Cracked alum Robert Evans for his experience reporting in the Middle East.
Here's the latest episode. Don't watch if you're the sort of person who uses the terms libtard, cuck, or SJW unironically.
