The special edition fixes that. Skyrim is beautiful and vibrant in Fallout 4's engine.

I have the SE and maybe it's my luddite eyes but couldn't spot much of a difference (The bloodmoon area was quite lovely I'll admit).

What I do need are more katana mods though. And to actually finish my Orc Samurai run through. Is there a mod to get rid of the Thieves guild? I'm desperately TRYING to avoid going stealth archer. I ALWAYS go stealth archer.

My main priority is to find more quest mods, since they usually add new and re-playable content. That's followed by mods that change the look of major holds and towns.

For example, I currently have:

As my currently loaded quest mods. Just recently, while I was making this post even, I lucked upon a few more quest mods for PS4

And as for environmental overhauls, I'm using the list presented in this youtube video here:

These mods make my skyrim look fantastic, but it's been quite subjected to change. Superficially, I stopped using every mod listed here and replaced with with "merged" versions of the mods that are multiple mods in one for space reasons. The merged mods were all made by Munzuradam and I'm super happy he did:

  • PS4 MA's Combined Lantern Mods
  • PS4 MA's Combined The Great Cities And Bridge Mods
  • PS4 MA's Combined Road, Roadside And Border Mods

A few Skyrim confessions;

  • I have a cupboard in Honeyside - it has items in it named after the people whose souls ended up in there. Ondolemar, Fjola...I only regret I didn't get Alain Dufont, rather just one of his minions. I even Soul Trapped Mercer Frey and put his soul in my "Mercer Soulsword". I'm looking forward especially to getting Elenwen after Seasons Unending and putting her soul in the very Party Boots I wore to her gala. Honeyside should make Molag Bal's Haunted House look tiny in comparison. On a related note, I am looking forward to putting the head of Penitus Oculatus in the Black Star too.
  • I basically made my character nigh invulnerable thanks to Enchanting. My only regret is the abysmal accuracy of the Expert Level Destruction Spells. Seriously, I've missed at point blank range.
  • Cidhna Mine is a fun quest when you're a Vampire Lord Battle Mage who can just transform and have a feast. Thonar wound up in my cupboard shortly afterwards.
  • As amoral as my guy ended up becoming, he does still have a few standards. And Namira's Cannibal Cult got the business end of Fireball Spam for their depravity. Cleaning up Markarth, one cannibal after another. So now I'm thinking about how to get rid of Thongvor.

I just need to find ways to level Smithing quickly - Iron Dagger spam is painfully slow.

Use enchanted smithing gear to craft incredibly expensive improved gear. Level up 10 levels per dwarven bar. It's great.

And I got to 100 and made my Dragon Armor and swords.

Made one of em with Chaos Damage and Absorb Health - Chaos Damage seems to jack up the effect of anything else on a weapon with it.

The other would be my Soul Trapper.

Wouldn't it be kind of interesting if you could run into every character you'd Soul Trapped in the Soul Cairn?

[up][up][up] What's the logic of a Vampire who drinks blood, considering cannibals to be bottom barrel?

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.

There's a difference between drinking blood - which doesn't need to be fatal - and literally eating someone's flesh and killing them. He also sees the act of eating meat from a dead human body to be grotesque.

There's also the fact slaying them all would clean up Markarth quite a lot and produce an overall positive net effect on the city.

Eh, Cannibals don't HAVE to kill their victims. Might be smarter to take little pieces and keep the vic alive as livestock anyway.

My personal go-to is enchanter. Always enchanter. Who the hell needs to spec as a stealth archer when you can grab enchantments that artificially boost the skills involved anyway?

For a vampire, there's also the option of feeding on the unlikable. I am looking at you, Rolff.

Yeah - I always end up going for Enchanting. Because who needs the Heart of Lorkhan to become an absolute deity?

Not me! I just need to eventually make the trek to the north of Solstheim in Morrowind and grab that fortify skill enchantment so I can fortify enchanting and really break the game. And I need to record a campaign doing it so I can put it up on my You Tube channel.

It's faster with fortify restoration potions.

No problem. I might experiment with that in Morrowind some time. I've got other series to cover first when I get back to recording.

NickTheSwing: I just need to find ways to level Smithing quickly - Iron Dagger spam is painfully slow.

Regarding improving smithing quickly, I would recommend the following steps

1) Clear Kolskeggr Mine (near Markarth) of the foresworn, mine every gold vein

2) smelt the gold outside the mine

3) make many gold rings and other jewellery, better gems push the value up.

I have the 'everything equals' mod, which gives smithing experience for smelting and tanning leather which helps a lot.

You might also want to be well rested and have the warrior stone active.

Provide you have patience and skill at alteration you can use a Transmute Metal spell that will turn iron ore to silver and silver to gold. You can find this at Halted Stream Camp north of Whiterun.

Raiding a dwarf ruin will allow you to collect a lot of metal which can be melted into ingots and turned into bows.

(For all this and more see the skyrim guide in the link below this post. Look for Moving forward> learning a trade> Smithing)

[up] I can't really do mods - PS 4 - and I've done that a few times before. I did wind up getting my suit of Dragonscale Armor, and my armor rating is something like 900.

I did Forelhost and killed Rahgot with three Dualcasted Incinerates, each one stunned him.

Came back outside, Valmir tried to pull shit on the guy who just fought through an army of Draugr Deathlords, and he promptly got a one way ticket to the inside of his own sword.

I was very disappointed when Elenwen remained Essential after Seasons Unending - I'd hoped she'd be killable. Sadly I can't kill her.

Did the Bard's College sidequests and was very surprised to hear some local necromancers referring to the "Order of the Black Worm". This is apparently a big deal.

Yeah.

In the mean time I just broke the game totally - I did the Restoration / Enchantment potion loop and wound up with like 5 or 6 Enchantment potions that increase enchantments by 2000%. Around the sweet spot - no crashes, and I still get gamebreaking gear out of it.

So now I can wear a Circlet and still have like 5000 Armor rating.

I think I'm gonna go fight Miraak soon and just stand there in front of him, all 16000 points of my health, and let him swing away.

I was stupid enough to keep enchanting and fortifying until I got negative numbers. Well, they report negative on the screen, but still do massive damage to foes.

Now I'm gonna go ahead and get an Amulet of Talos to turn myself into a Master of the Thu'um.

Maybe I'll even beat Karstaag just by shouting him down.

Beat Karstaag in one hit, beat Deathbrand in one hit, but now I've gotta ask...

...is the glitch where the Raven Rock guards are still hostile to you forever if you kill Mogrul still in effect? Because I want to Soul Trap him.

Get lost in Skyrim's frozen wilderness once more.

Skyrim was rarely "that" game for me - but I do recall plugging hours into exploring the northern edge of the map. Anticipating every wolf encounter. Casting fireball to little effect. Wondering where on earth the Dwemr ruins were. Finding that one house full of those bug monsters that poison the crap out of you.

Man f-ck this I don't want to remember that.

Did you take any destruction spell perks? Or level up your destruction skill at all? Fireball is more about stunning the enemy than doing any damage. It's fairly low-level. "Wall of X" spells are the best for actually dealing damage.
