hhrrrrgghhhghghgh finally got my enchanting up to level 90 god this is taking so long
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youIn modern Icelandic, "þegn" just means "subject". I'm not sure the word has ever been a truly standardized noble title.
I just wonder how canon it is for me to be Thane of Eight Holds.
Then again, you can also be Listener of DB, nightingale of the thieves guild, harbinger of the Companions, etc etc etc
You get a list of titles as long as a dragon's tail. Why not thane of all holds into bargain
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youContinuity in Elder Scrolls is funny like that. Post Daggerfall games consider all of the endings in Daggerfall canon thanks to the Dragon Break. Post Morrowind games dealt with any continuity issues by simply dropping a city on the continent followed by a volcano erupting followed by the Argonians invading. Post Oblivion games (so just Skyrim for now) are set far ahead of Oblivion's time.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI don't see why it wouldn't be. In the context of Skyrim, being a Thane just seems to be like an honorary title. It doesn't appear to come with any duties of allegience, just perks. I imagine it's like having honorary citizenship in multiple countries (or in this case, just different counties in the same country).
With enchanting there are some ways to speed it up
- In you can get the aetherium crown you can have both the mage stone and the lover stone at the same time, so 35% increase, getting well rested before equiping the crown with the lover stone bonus should increase this bonus by 10%.
- get the water breathing enchantment, it full strenght whatever soul size you use, same with muffle.
- find out which enchantments cause the finished item to be more expensive and use those to get more experience (I think)

My latest Trope page: Shapeshifting FailureOkay, so I've never posted here and I've never played Skyrim (but I know what it's about), but I am somewhat of a fan of the power metal band Dragonforce.
As it turns out, last year, they released a new album including a song about Skyrim. It's not even a little bit subtle, it's just literally, explicitly a song about the Dragonborn. And it rocks.
It feels like a completely sincere version of that Lonely Island parody song where Micheal Bolton just wants to sing about Jack Sparrow and the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
Huh, works fine for me. Maybe it's a regional thing?
Anyone know why dragon priests crumble into ash when they die, but all the Draugr leave behind intact bodies? The only reason I can think of is so the player can't reanimate them, but there doesn't seem to be an in universe reason.
My latest Trope page: Shapeshifting FailureThey crumble the same way reanimated bodies do, so it's possible they aren't animated the same way draugr are but because some sort of delayed/triggered reanimation spell was cast on them when they were buried.
Worldbuilding is fun, writing is a choreYeah. There are numerous dungeons in which you see draugr laid out on embalming tables, but never a priest.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youThat always bugged me too. I like the idea that Dragon Priests are reanimated by necromancy though, which also explains why you always fight them after they rise from a coffin.
It should be noted that Draugr and Dragon Priests are distinct.
The in-universe book Amongst the Draugr has the author come to the conclusion that the Dragon Priests sustain themselves by absorbing what little life remains in their Draugr followers.
It's clear that whatever magic the Dragons gave to their devoted servants to make them into the Dragon Priests is on a completely different level than whatever is done to turn people into Draugr.
My headcanon is that the Dragons used some kind of unknown Thu'um to transform the Dragon Priests. In other words, it's not ordinary necromancy but full-blown Reality Warper stuff.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI got lost there for a second. Let’s get back to the beginning of the game. It was, ya know, pretty normal. I chose a woman as my race and made her as much like Cinderella as I possibly could. I thought maybe we were due for a tornado or something what with the sky and all. Alduin showed up and made the sky piss fire, I got my vision back, entered the keep, took a bucket, and went outside because I’ve got to do. I used two mods to make this work. One allows up to 100 companions, as well as a bunch of other really useful stuff that I never used, and the other lets you tame any animal. But the Animal Taming mod uses spells for this. First you use a charm spell like Calm or Pacify to sooth the wild beast then you blast it with the Tame Animal spell and it’s yours. If you didn’t know there was a Tame Animal spell in Skyrim, it’s because there isn’t. It’s added by the mod and you can only get it from a certain someone inside the College of Winterhold. So not only do I have to get in there, I have to be able to afford the 2800 gold spell. You know what that means.
If the princess in question is Mulan, then yes.
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Or Elsa, if you prefer magic to weapons.
Just use frost magic and summon frost daedra, it's not a optimum build and you'll be chugging destruction enhancing potions every minute but you could do it.
I'd suggest mods like simple spell scaling and a Hypothetical Treachery.
My latest Trope page: Shapeshifting FailureI'd suggest Merida, but then we fall back into the 'sneaky archer' archetype that always happens.
Switch FC code: SW-4420-1809-1805I wonder if Bethesda is really scared about TES VI. Morrowind and Oblivion did pretty well but Skyrim was an all-time legendary title that sold like 3x as much as Oblivion and remained relevant for far longer.
I'd be terrified of trying to follow that up. How many folks will just immediately be like "this isn't Skyrim' after playing the game for 0.5 seconds? And of course "selling pretty well" won't cut it after Skyrim.
Some intriguing ideas on what the next game will be like, though. Since Skyrim is everything in decline, some people anticipated TES VI is everything being reborn. You gotta rebuild all the factions, including even a new Empire.
I don't think so. I mean, they know it needs to be good, but thanks to Skyrim the sequel is basically guaranteed to make money. Skyrim was a mess in a lot of ways; making "Skyrim, but not worse" isn't super hard.
I wonder if they're just stumped working out what to do to progress the timeline without annoying half the fanbase too much. The outcome of the Skyrim civil war is the biggest player decision since Daggerfall but this time you've given people a lot of reason to get invested.
And any political implications.
Avatar SourceI for one don't think they're afraid of making another game, the mmorpg game they released recently feels like a natural evolution for series, and while they did release a teaser awhile back
These things take time and money, who knows, maybe Microsoft buying them has put this project on hold or something

New theme music also a boxImo, if they're worried about anything, it's that they lost a lot of goodwill they had built up over the years with the mess Fallout 76 has been and a lot of people won't have ESVI as an instant buy as it would have been in the past.

To be fair, the only time Jarldom changes hands is when you're the one installing the new Jarl. the new Jarl is likely motivated to maintain the power of the one who put their butt on the throne lol.
OH WAIT NO I forgot the Greybeard summit.
