Hi! I'm a brony. I have been one since last February, ironically because I fell in love with the fan work Chrysalis Visits The Hague and wanted the context. (Then it turned out to be a great show, so there's that.)

That is not a long time, especially compared to the runtime of the show, with which I am still not current (though I don't particularly care about spoilers as a rule).citation  Now I want to make a graphic novel adaptation of Hague (as well as general silliness on You Tube), but one particular problem keeps nagging at me: Friendship is Magic is eight years old and had a rather large fandom damn near from day one.

All the niches seem to be filled.

I don't know how I'd get attention for my work, I don't know if other people are already doing what I'm doing (though I'm pretty sure I'm the only one making a comic book adaptation of that specific fic), I don't know if I have anything new to add, and the answers always seem to come up negative just because of the massive flood of people, and mythos, I have to deal/compete with just to get my foot in the door.

And maybe I'm just a pretentious asshole, but I create not just because I'll go nuts otherwise and because I promised Hague's author I would, but because I want feedback, either positive or negative, so I don't end up careening off into some insane hellhole of my own making. But if there's no one even hearing my voice, there's no one to give me feedback.

I don't know if this is too serious for Yack Fest, but it didn't seem like the right fit for On-Topic Discussion, so.

I don't know, someone reply just to prove I'm not going completely off the deep end.

Thanks for the time.

Signatures aren't worth my time.

Honestly? Go for it. The Fi M fandom might be old, but it isn't dead, and I'm sure fans of the original fic would love your rendition.

As far as I know I wrote the ONLY Rose Petal Place fanfic on the internet, so I say go for it, especially if your work can inspire someone else to write! (There has to be someone else out there who likes RPP, right!?)

Absolutely! The Holmes fandom is probably one of the oldest there is and it's still churning out fanworks from the various Holmesian iterations. I'm in Tolkien fandom, and it's anything but dead. A fandom is only dead when no one cares about it anymore.
