Yes. It's the only reason I'm curious about the sequel. How do you follow that twist up?
His equally evil twin brother?
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here? One thing I read recently that I found interesting: Hamill decided to voice Chucky as "an evil toddler", or something along those lines, since he's an entity experiencing the world for the first time, and Lars Klevberg based his mannerisms on kids interacting with new objects.

So this could tow the line between Nightmare Fuel and Narm, if not Narm Charm.
It's been 3000 years…I think this featurette is the first video to give us a really thorough look at the doll.
Even if the movie ends up being bad, the marketing is on point.
First clip:
Okay, you have to admit that's funny seeing as how they both come out on the same day. Even if the movie's bad, I'll forever remember these jokes.
If only they said, "Andy's Coming!".
Who wants to hear Mark Hamill's Chucky sing?
I don't know why but that song makes me feel sad for some reason.

I think that's actually the intent. A few actors talked about the film having a "surprisingly emotional" feel and one mentioned he felt bad for Chucky, so I think he'll be more of a Tragic Villain in this one.
When I saw the synopsis and the score my theory became that (spoiling in the off-chance I'm right) in this movie Chucky legitimately cares for Andy and is actually trying to protect him. He just goes about it in a violent and misguided way, and when he inevitably dies, the film will play it for a Alas, Poor Villain.
Time will tell if I'm right.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Or I could tell you. The answer is yes.
I thought the movie was a mixed bag, but worth watching for the curious. There are plenty of horrible ways to die on hand and Hamill does well with a Chucky who hardly resembles any to come before him in any way. Cat lovers beware.
But hey, the critics seem to like it more than you may think.

I never thought that a sympathetic version of Chucky of all horror villains was ever possible up until now.
It's been 3000 years…A reviewer said that the movie have a very creative premise and plot about an AI gone mad due to trying to learn and adapt to please a 13 year old, but what drag it down is the Chucky elements. If it wasn't attached to the Child Play franchise, it would have been a pretty good science fiction horror.
E.T technically is a Isekai movieI disagree pretty strongly with that. One of the most interesting things the movie is seeing how it takes different paths to the same ultimate results(foul-mouthed killer doll with knife).
I mean the concept was really intrigue. AI create to learn and change to satisfy it owner. How ever his owner is a 13 year old boys who don't even know what he want and unstable emotion. The AI isn't decide it want to kill human cause human are flaw, it want to kill human cause it think that what his owner want. The Chucky elements like the doll make no sense in the story( what kind of company stuck their latest breakthrough in AI technology in a doll?An ugly doll? What kind of 13 years old boy have a doll?). Those elements just in there because this movie was attached with the name Child's Play.
Also someone comment that this movie premise basically what if Youtube algorithm gone mad because of it customer.

The thing about The Boy is the doll isn't actually alive. It was a man living in the attic all along.
