Still feeling like pacing here sounds odd, but I can't say more since I don't think manga is further translated?

Man I really wish the manga got more scanlated. I wonder what happens next :/ I'm still 60 chapters left for reading this manga but I still need more translations

My friend who read the manga says this flashback is his favorite part of the story and I'm definitely seeing why. This is really connecting every single plot point so far.

Episode 19:

Good god! Sadayoshi is just an evil prick up to eleven. He manipulates Souji, Souji's daughter and Masaru to do his own bidding and so what happens in the first episode were according to Sadayoshi machinations. That and he also attack some innocent people in Kuroga village just to spite Sadayoshi after he seemingly "took" Francine from him? God this guy's a prick. On the positive side, more backstory on Souji and his daughter and I can't help but feel bad for them.

What the heck was this episode? What the heck is Karakuri Circus even? They completely had me up until "Commander Faceless". At that point I actually stopped the episode to rewatch Faceless's backstory and nothing made sense anymore. When thought this story had finally connected all the dots, suddenly get 50 new questions.

@Comun Maybe, just maybe that Commander Faceless lies to us all by creating a fake backstory and manipulating the Shirogane to fight against the puppets behind the scenes so that he could have the main girl alone just like an evil villain he is in the anime

Anyways, Episode 20:

Welp, we now know the truth about Sadayoshi's death and it turns out Sadayoshi didn't die... At all and Masaru is still Masaru and it was revealed that Sadayoshi is Bai Jin and Faceless altogether and still trying to transfer his mind to Masaru. That evil fiend! Also, Bai Jin looks like a child who throws temper tantrums as he beat Francine's face because he wants her to sing a song for him. That and he's perfectly A-OK to unlock her in an abandoned warehouse while the villagers attacked her then in the turn of events, he then attacks the villagers. Geez Bai Jin! You such a prick. And yeah, it's pretty sad that Souji is dead and now joining Angelina's side thanks to Bai Jin's actions oof...But at least he got what he wanted even if it's not long in this world.

Episode 21:

God, Faceless/Bai Jin while entertaining, he's still a prick. He attempts to annihilate all humanity so that he could be with Eleanore all alone and then remade Pantalone, Arlecchino and Columbine just to laugh at their faces because their master is gone. Yeah, he's truly a prick alright. Anyways, in the meantime, Narumi and co finally manage to found a machine that can cure ZONAPHA syndrome but have a bit of a fight in the Hospital and it's a slaughterhouse I tell you. And yes, the Episode consist of Air battle which is great

Episode 22:

Well, the episode is mostly set on the Institute of ZONAPHA Syndrome about Ming-Xia fighting against the gambling automata and I've gotta say that it's rather intense. But damn Ming-Xia looks rather cute in that outfit though. In the meantime, there are some lighthearted scenes that alleviates the mood such as when George and Eiryo tries to entertain the children in the Institute. And yeah, seems that Eiryo will fight against Dottore even if Dottore doesn't want to—given he seemingly gave up on life due to discovering the truth of Francine thanks to Faceless—and then there's the evil Shirogane-O who tries to stop the heroes plans, which is not surprising because this is Faceless/Bai Jin/Sadayoshi's machinations after all.

Ashihana is fighting Pantalone. Dottore is the one who gave up his purpose and therefore couldn’t be fixed.

Episode 23:

Some fights between Ashihana and Pantalone and Ashihana wins but ended up becoming fatally wounded during the fight. In the meantime, George also fight against Shirogane-O which ended up killing George... Poor guy At least he got some last interaction with Ashihana. In the meantime, Narumi and co. tries at their best to protect the kids and secure Harry from Automata and man Narumi went full Berserker mode but RIP the Doctors though.

Episode 24. Fuck I'm late:

Pantalone performs a Heel–Face Turn and it was revealed that the doctors are still alive albeit severely wounded. We also saw the first appearance of the midnight circus train. And yeah, those fight with automatons are pretty brutal considered Mingxia got one of her arm slashed but luckily both Mingxia, the Doctors and the children are saved and they tried to transport Harry

Episode 25:

Hmmmm... Not sure about how I feel with the new opening. Although glad to see Bump of Chicken performing the ending. Anyways, for the episode alone? Is about Masaru and Lis fighting against automata. However, both Pantalone and Columbine performs Heel–Face Turn due to Shirogane's strong will which is nice. And so that's why how Faceless is able to create several Shirogane-O's (And its probably revealed that he kidnaps most of the humans anyways to create them as Shirogane-O's)

Just gonna say that I read the recent chapters of the manga:

Wow... The fights between Masaru and Shirogane-O's are skipped and in the anime, the story of Bai Jin/Faceless were told by Masaru as if he were possessed until Faceless shows up into the scene by masquerading as someone.

Oh yeah, new chapter:

So Bai Jin claims that his fate were controlled by the Hell Machine huh? Well that's bullshit and Masaru had a right to call him out on that and what he said about being the Black Sun was truly right.

Episode 26:

Liselotte overcome her fear as a beast tamer and manages to tame the beasts that was sent to defeat her. Masaru and Columbine made a good team together and I feel pity with those Shirogane-O's after seeing their real bodies. And up next will be the fight against Faceless.

New chapter:

What a cruel and heartless person Faceless is. He intentionally unplugs the thing that pinned guy near Souji's life-support tank and let Souji die. In the meantime, Masaru tries to use Souji's katana to fight against Faceless

Oh, so the anime is ahead of the manga translations now?

@Comun Yes... If you want to know what are the chapters that got skipped... I can tell you but it depends if my memory serves right on the manga.

Chapter 273:

Well shit, seems that Bai Jin wants to play with Masaru regarding Masaru protecting Eleanor for two years because why not? This doesn't happen in the anime though

Anime skipped shit ton of stuff Like "Wait a sec, isn't this actually important stuff they skipped?" stuff

@Spooky Mask Yeh... Anime skipped a lot of stuff but cant blame Studio VOLN since the anime itself will be around 36 episodes and its understandable from animator's perspective. But yeh... Even then, they're not immune to criticism

Chapter 274:

RIP Souji. You truly have a long lasting live and you and Angelina will be walking together in Hereafter for eternity. And up next, Masaru will participate on Faceless/Bai Jin's game on try at his best protecting Eleanor for two years... Also, a bit pet peeve. I recall Masaru was 11 years old. Here, the manga states that he is 10 years old. Feels kind of confusing tbh but nothing to point on

Episode 27:

Today's episode is about Masaru vs Faceless and Faceless himself is a no-nonsense nemesis against Masaru and still trying to transfer his memories on Masaru. Not only that, he also plans to go to space with Eleanor/Shirogane alone to have a honeymoon together. But seems that Faceless got outwitted by Masaru so yea...
