I would have preferred Kath Soucie as Lola myself, but Zendaya is a welcome re-cast.

Frankly, I thought Kristen Wiig never sounded right.

The more I think about it, it's hilarious that Pepe Le Pew couldn't make it into the movie because his stuff isn't appropriate, but they let the gang from a Clockwork Orange into the movie.

I don't think there was any evidence Pepe was left out because of inappropriateness. They just didn't want to use him for this movie. And given the huge roster they have already, that seems reasonable.

Just saw the trailer and I really enjoyed it! I loved the fact that this movie is going to use a blend of 2D and 3D animation since we haven't seen a major 2D animated movie in years (well, maybe except for Klaus and Tom and Jerry to a degree). I'm also surprised that the plot is about Lebron James trying to rescue his son from the virtual world, which is quite an unexpected turn for this franchise. Let's hope this movie is good!

I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!

Now that I've actually seen the trailer... hmm.

I'll admit, I don't think the original Space Jam was great. There's some decent moments, but it's purely running on nostalgia fumes for me. It's clearly a studio product through and through... so, this trailer seems to perfectly capture that tone for a whole new generation.

This is also the, what, sixth film WB has released that's just a mash-up of all their properties? We had the Lego movies, Ready Player One, SCOOB!, and now this film? The Massive Multiplayer Crossover element is starting to feel a bit less unique by this point. I'm sure this will have some fun moments, and the emotional core with LeBron and his son will at least give him something more personal at stake than Jordan.

I'm not expecting this to be a great film, but hopefully this will be an entertaining romp at least.

I don't think this would be the best movie to showcase Pepe as a modern character anyway. It would basically be a minor side plot, when he needs to get much more focus to reinvent his character properly.

They haven't used Pepe in years anyway. Lest we all forget, people thought he was a creep way before the most recent nontroversy.

This just now occurred to me, but... since when has Granny used a walker? I don't think I ever recall seeing her with one.

I think the only reason she has a walker was so she had something to use like a piece of gym equipment.

Yeah, I think this is going to be a reveal joke where she will be acting like a regular old grandma until she suddenly pulls out the gymnast moves on her walker.

In which case, the trailer has obviously spoiled the joke for us.

Lets hope they didn't just put all their best gags in the trailers. That never ends well for a movie.

I'd like to point out that the "walker being used as gym equipment" joke has been done before. The recent remake of The Odd Couple had a gag like that, for example.

About Pepe Le Pew, I think Wabbit had him appear in a couple shorts where he was reimagined as a James Bond-like agent, which is kind of appropriate considering Bond is also a notorious womanizer.

It’s the Tune Squad vs the Goon Squad in ''Space Jam: A New Legacy'' trailer: LeBron James leads Looney Tunes characters in basketball rematch for the digital age

This transformational journey is a manic mashup of two worlds that reveals just how far some parents will go to connect with their kids. When Le Bron and his young son Dom are trapped in a digital space by a rogue A.I., Le Bron must get them home safe by leading Bugs, Lola Bunny and the whole gang of notoriously undisciplined Looney Tunes to victory over the A.I.’s digitized champions on the court: a powered-up roster of professional basketball stars as you’ve never seen them before. It’s Tunes versus Goons in the highest-stakes challenge of his life, that will redefine Le Bron’s bond with his son and shine a light on the power of being yourself. The ready-for-action Tunes destroy convention, supercharge their unique talents and surprise even ‘King’ James by playing the game their own way.

Online reaction to the trailer has been a bit mixed, with many people reveling in all the hidden beloved characters from their childhoods, and other more curmudgeonly types decrying what they perceive to be a dearth of creativity on the part of Warner Bros. And it is true that filling a movie with various licensed characters as visual Easter eggs is something of a go-to move for the studio of late—most notably, both LEGO movies and the 2018 film adaptation of Ready Player One.

Animating Le Bron is probably the smartest decision they could have made. He’s not an actor and it shows with those terrible readings, so letting the animators handle the physical comedy for those bits is a smart idea.

The original Space Jam was built around Michael Jordan, coming off his first three-peat with the Bulls. Warner Brothers signed him on, then had to craft a movie around him. Also, the Walt Disney company had bought ABC-TV outright, and bulldozed The Bugs Bunny Show off the airwaves. The Nike sneaker commercials that had Jordan and Bunny together played well with viewers, so WB hired four writers to craft a storyline around Looney Tunes teaming up with Michael Jordan. They could wave Jordan in Disney's face, and make the Tunes relevant again. Space Jam garnered $230 million worldwide, pretty good for 1996.

After 25 years, Lebron is another celebrity b-baller, and WB's animated films and series seem to be doing well. Therefore, it's time to try the magic formula again: James and Bunny unite to Save The World. Hey, it worked once ...

Given how long ago that first movie was, that could certainly work out well, it's old enough for 90s nostalgia to kick in.

I saw someone on Twitter suggest that the Warners should announce the game. Unlikely, considering you can see them in the crowd in the trailer, but I'd love for it to happen.

The Warners are in the crowd? Damn, people are eagle-eyed. I didn't see them at all.

As for Pepe Le Pew, what grinds my gears is that he was always supposed to be an unsympathetic character. He's the butt of the joke (no pun intended) in all his cartoons! Anyone who says he "taught children that sexual harassment was funny" is either a weirdo or just wasn't paying attention, imho.

Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
