Is there any legal reason behind not having Parappa the Rapper on there? It's a Sony IP, right?

There's a remastered version of Parappa the Rapper on the PS4, so there SHOULDN'T be any legal blockage.

I don't think licensed games should be on these Classic consoles, so Toy Story 2 and Harry Potter seem like unusual choices.

To each his own, but I will admit to being surprised about seeing Toy Story 2 in that list. Medal of Honor was also an unexpected title, but that's more to do with how there hasn't been a new one in years.

I'm wary of buying a PS Classic because it feels like a few months down the line Sony will announce a "new and improved" version, making this an Obvious Beta if I've ever seen one.

The lack of classics and fan favorites like Crash, Klonoa, Mega Man Legends and MediEvil was what made me skeptical on the PlayStation Classic (among other circumstances). Now all this reading about secret features accessed through keyboards and list of games that were apparently planned to appear has convinced me that I dodged a bulllet.

I wouldn't be surprised if in a few months time, we got a PlayStation Classic Plus with more games (or better yet, all the listed games) with 2 DualShock controllers. (Actually, I would be surprised, but that's beside the point.)

It's kind of impressive to me how half-assed this product is.

Here's an idea: have the pre-loaded games, yes, but also make it so you can download games from PSN to a flashcart. I still wouldn't buy it myself but that would make the system 500% times better.

It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine. ...not really though.

Re: Old games.

So, I played the fuck outta HPatSS back in the day, though I always got stuck trying to levitate the cage to get the key, because I could never do it right and it would wake up the troll and he would trample me to death.

And I played TS 2 all the time on N64. Me and by bro actually ran through it a while back. I always thought climbing that goddamn tree in the second level was hard... and it still fucking is.

Feeling like the collection of pre-loaded games on the PlayStation Classic is underwhelming, rightfully so?

Great news, you can add more games through the magic of hacking!

For those who don't talk hacker: because the PS Classic apparently doesn't run a signature check, it's super easy to dump new content into the hardware when it's connected via USB. Example: You want Dino Crisis on your PS Classic? You can put it in yourself!

Can't really say for sure about Sorcerer's Stone other than it has So Bad, It's Good graphics.

I mainly know about the Harry Potter game from Caddicarus and the video where JC Denton plays it

You're going to pay a price for every bloody thing you do and everything you don't do. You don't get to choose to not pay a price.

After a while I fell to temptation and couldn't help it but get one. It wasn't as expensive since it has been heavily discounted after the failed holiday season. I got it cheaper than a Raspberry Pie and for about the cost of what I would have gotten both Wild Arms and Resident Evil in the used market (Those two games can be quite expensive) so why not?.

I have only scratched the surface so far, and I didn't play most of the games back then. Also I'm a dirty casual with poor reflexes, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I'll add to this list as I play more and more of these games

  • Jumping Flash.-This game is cutesy looking and I like that, but it has little challenge. In general it feels like kind of a tech demo. There's a bit of lag, I don't know if it's because of the settings or part of the game.

  • Tekken 3.- I'm probably the worst person to judge a fighting game, I have zero talent for this kind of stuff. I thought that lag could be a problem, but I didn't notice it. Even I managed to get quite far in the arcade mode before switching to another game.

  • I.Q. .- This Game is HARD. Entertaining but hard.

  • Mr.Driller.- This one runs quite fine.

  • Puzzle Fighter.- I thought I wouldn't like this one, but I love puzzle games and this one has a lot of depth. It runs smoothly.

  • Wild Arms.- No issue.

  • Metal Gear Solid.- I thought I would miss the analog sticks, but so far the playability hasn't suffered. (I on the other hand suck at hiding)

  • Resident Evil.- It looks gorgeous and the sound is awesome. The controls fit perfectly fine to the pad.

  • Ridge Racer Type 4.- It's not Grand Turismo, but the playability works fine. I think there are some glitches with the lights in the night tracks, they leave behind an afterglow that is a bit distracting.

  • An what is this console without hacking? I was deathly afraid to try, since I don't have the patience for this kind of stuff, but it is so easy to do: just unzip bleemsync on a blank usb, dump the isos, run the app and plug in the console. My only problem is getting quality rips from the C Ds I have on hand, out of the three games I tried to backup one didn't run. (Added Silent Hill and Digimon World 2, they work like a charm)

My main source for legit import games (G-Force in Glasgow's Union Street) sells the PS Classic.

But their's have more games than the standard model. I assume they're legit as well, or Sony would be on them like white on rice.
