Jason tugs a few more times against the fading restraint. “Oh gee, I’m flattered.” He scoffs sarcastically.

“Still think this coulda been more polite about it, but whatever.”

He slots in his deck. “I’ll just light it up, just like last time.”

Rooftop

Yuria isn't very impressed with the new "toys." She also inserts her deck into her duel disk.

"What makes you think a new duel disk can improve dueling skills?"

"Oh come on, you really think the new disks are the only things I gave them?" The stranger answered Yuria.

"Anyways, I ain't got all night so let's get this started!" They held up three fingers, counting them down while waving like a film director getting ready to start a shot, "Three, two, one, and..."

"Duel!" Bobby and Timothy shouted.

Jack Vs Tina

"I'm still not done!" Tina declared, "I'll activate the effect of my Battery!"

The lizard's generator began to glow brightly, "I can shuffle a Volcanic monster from my graveyard into my deck to draw a card!"

The Volcanic Shell card was ejected from the graveyard, which Tina took and put back on top of her deck. She drew after her duel disk visible shuffled her deck for her.

"Next," She said, pointing towards one of her face-downs, "I'll activate Blaze Accelerator Reload!"

The familiar continuous trap appeared next to her, "I'll send Volcanic Slicer from my hand to the graveyard to draw again!"

She looked at the third card she drew that turn and grinned wildly, "It's here."

"Now, since Reload counts as a Tri-Blaze Accelerator while its on the field, I can send it to the graveyard to summon Volcanic Doomfire!"

The trap went up in a massive pyre of flame. Within the fire, something began to form, barely visible. Eventually, the black and red Volcanic king stepped out of the flames and roared, dispersing the fire it had spawned from. (3000/1800)

"Normally, I wouldn't be able to attack the same turn I used Blaze Accelerator," Tina explained, "But, while I have Battery on my field, the effects of my Blaze Accelerator and Volcanic cards that would prevent me from attacking are negated!"

"Battle! Doomfire, attack him directly!"

Doomfire inhaled air, then shot out a massive flaming ball of rock at Jack.

Allin Vs Zach

The coin flip ended in Zach's favor.

"I'll start by normal summoning Worm Xex," Zach said, placing the monster on his gauntlet. In front of him appeared a slimy, grotesque creaure in a vague "X" shape. (1800/1000)

"When Xex is normal summoned," Zach explained, "I can send a Reptile Worm monster from my deck to the graveyard, like Worm Yagan."

"Next," He activated a spell card, "I'll use Viper's Rebirth. Since I only have Reptiles in my graveyard, I can special summon Yagan!"

Next to Xex appeared it's counterpart, an equally ugly creature in the vague shape of a "Y". (1000/1800)

"Now, circuit!" Zach declared, an arrowhead portal appearing above him, "I'll use Xex and Yagan to link summon!"

The two slimeballs turned into colorful tornados, going into the bottom right and left link markers.

"Tortured, deformed experiment," Zach chanted, his eyes tinting yellow, "Come and begin the spread of a new era for your kind!"

"I link summon Worm 01!"

A pillar of light came down from the portal. It quickly disappeared, revealing a new monster neither Allin nor Mellie had ever seen or heard of before.

It looked a bit like a small sample of Worm Zero, at least compared to the originals massive size. The creature looked like a cocoon made of slime, with the same skull imprint on it's "Face" as Zero. It was wearing the remains of what appeared to be some kind of containment pod, several frayed cables hanging off of it. It was clearly stuck to the ground, the same slime that made up the rest of the Worms slowly spreading around it. (1900)

Yuria Vs Bobby

"My turn," Bobby said emotionlessly after the coin flip marked him to go first, "I'll activate Molten Conduction Field."

The familiar spell card appeared in front of him, "I'll send two Volcano Handmaidens to the graveyard, and use their effects to send Laval Lakeside Lady and Forest Sprite to the graveyard."

"Since I have 3 different Laval monsters in my graveyard, I'll special summon Laval Burner."

The roaring Laval brute appeared in front of him, contrasting it's now stoic master. (2100/1000)

"I'll special summon Laval Coatl, since I still have three different Lavals in the graveyard." He declared, the yellow and red hatchling appearing before him. (1300/700)

"Now, I'll synchro summon. I tune Coatl with Burner to synchro summon Laval Stennon."

Despite Bobby's lack of emotion, Coatl still turned into sycnhro rings, which Burner went though. The resulting burst of light revealed the familiar upgraded Laval. (2900/1800)

"I'll send Burgeoning Whirlflame to the graveyard due to Stennon's effect and end my turn."

Monster: Laval Stennon (Right Extra)

Spell/Trap: None.

Jason vs Timothy

"Let's get this started," Timothy said, having also won the coin flip, "Oh, this may seem familiar, I'll summon The Agent of Mystery Earth!"

The white, green, and blue maiden flew from nowhere onto the roof. (1000/800)

"And again, I'll use her effect to add The Agent of Creation, Venus, to my hand," He said, his duel disk ejecting the card, which he took. Jason remembered it for how effective it was when they'd dueled earlier.

"Ah, but this angel seems to be lost. I'll bring her home here," Timothy mused, the field spell slot opening up on his gauntlet, "I'll activate The Sanctuary in the Sky!"

Around them, the sky around them became absolutely covered in clouds, the rooftop itself turning into an ancient, religious-looking temple.

"Now, we'll take no damage from battles with our Fairy monsters."

"That is all for now."

Allin stared at the new monster in wonder, and a perplexed expression. "That's... That's new. I've never seen that card before... The hell?"

Not what I hoped for, but it will do.

"I discard Mermail Abyssgunde and Warrior of Atlantis to Special Summon Mermail Abyssmegalo from my hand." A red humanoid shark in white armor appears. "I activate Megalo's effect and add Abyss-Scale of the Mizuchi to my hand."

Jason clicks his tongue.

Not the best opener,but it'll have to do.

"When you control a Monster while I have none, I can special summon from my hand, my Vice Dragon!

-The muscular dragon appears on the field, deflates slightly, and takes a offensive posture. (2000/2400-1000/1200)

"Sadly, it means I have to cut his stats in half, but it still leaves me free to summon out the Herald of Creation!"

To the right of Vice Dragon, the strangely cloathed Herald appears. (1800/600)

"Now battle! Herald attacks Earth!"

The Herald of Creation swings her staff, sending a ball of Light at Earth.

"I equip Abyss - Scale of the Mizuchi to Megalo." Megalo's white armor disappears, replaced by a sleek black armor. It gains 800 ATK (3200)

"I also summon Atlantean Marksman, to keep my Megalo company."

Battle Phase

"Now, Megalo, attack Stennon!"

Hotel Entrance

"Yup, that's right" Kara found herself responding automatically. With what was already going on with the other competitors, a random stranger in a hoodie didn't seem all that strange so far.

"I've never seen or heard of it before either... And his eyes turned yellow when he summoned it." Mellie gulped. "I hate to be obvious, but something's really off here. Watch out for any..." She awkwardly trailed off for a moment before completing her thought. "Weird shit, I guess."

JACK VS TINA

"Oh! Congratulations! You-" Suddenly, Jack was on his hands and knees, taking slow labored breaths. It was like he had been branded. '(8000->5000) He took a deep shuddering breath, Oh God...Oh god. It hurt''. He vomited, the stress overwhelming him as he just slumped ther eon all fours, panting before looking back up at Tina. He didn't make any comments. Instead, He gingerly touched his front...His flesh melting? No...No. None of it. But Oh God. It still burnt...Tears were beginning to fill his goggles.

Oh God. Oh God. He was going to die. This...She...He wanted to stand, but none of his muscles would listen to him.

Jack Vs Tina

"Oh whats wrong?" Tina taunted, "Does it sting?"

Battery's side-guns began to glow with energy, "Battery, attack him directly."

Battery opened fire, sending a barrage of small fire bolts towards Jack.

Allin Vs Zach

"Now, 01's effect," Zach commanded as the ooze that made up 01 began to creep forward, "I can special summon Worms from my graveyard in either face-up or face-down defense position to it's links."

The ooze began to form, briefly taking the shape of Xex and Yagan before turning into set cards. The trail of slime retreated, leaving just the face-down cards in their place.

"I can't use them to summon anything, except to summon other Worms," Zach explained, "But while I have a set monster, you can't target 01 with attacks or effects."

Two non-monster set cards appeared on Zach's field, "I'll set two and end my turn."

Monster: Worm 01 (Left Extra), Set monster (Far Left), Set monster (Center)

Spell/Trap: Set card (Center), Set card (Right)

Yuria Vs Bobby

Abyssmegalo used it's serated blade to cut right through Stennon. Bobby raised his arm to block some of the ensueing smoke from hitting him. (LP: 8000-7500)

The stranger looked at Bobby's lack of reaction before looking down. They then turned their attention to Timothy's duel.

Jason Vs Timothy

"Look before you leap," Timothy declared, taking a card from his hand and sending it to the graveyard, "I activate Honest!"

Earth's blue and green wings were replaced by Honest's white with colored tips. "Earth gains attack equal to the attack of the monster she's battling!" The Agent of Creation formed a bluish-green barrier, which blocked the attack of the Herald. (ATK: 1000-2800)

"Strike back!"

Earth put out her arms and focused, calling forth a large greenish-blue meteor of energy, which she sent directly at the Herald.

"Oooooo," The stranger noted, "Shiny..."

Hotel

The hoodie-wearing man had taken out his phone to check something before looking up at Jo.

"Oh wait, you're Garcia," He said, "Kilman already gave you the rundown."

"Ok," He said, turning to Kara, "Its Kara, right?"

"My name's Mannic. I just gotta ask you a few questions."

"And now, my Atlantean Marksman is free to attack directly." Marksman raised his crossbow and took a shot at Bobby.

Jason vs. Timothy

“Wha-!” Jason grits his teeth as the meteor obliterates his Herald. “H-Heh...nice tri-”

The fragments of his destroyed monster strike him in the chest, causing him to stagger back. (8000-7000)

“W...What in the...” Jason feels around his chest for the shrapnel, but finds nothing. “Did I just...feel that?! What the hell?!”

Yuria turned to Jason. "Jason! You okay? What happened?"

Rooftop Stadium

“There’s something screwy going on with this duel! I...I felt the damage!”

Exhilarating...a rush of blood...

Jason shakes his head as his heart pounds in his chest. “Be careful, Yuria! It’s probably gonna get worse!”

Yuria Vs Bobby

The bolt nailed Bobby in the chest, causing him to stumble back. (LP: 7500-6100)

Vs. Bobby

"Since Marksman dealt damage to you, I can activate its effect. I Special Summon Neptabyss, the Atlantean Prince!" An young man with black hair and blue armor appears.

"Neptabyss, attack!"

Neptabyss threw his trident at Bobby. Bobby took 800 damage (6100-5300).

Main Phase 2

"I activate Neptabyss' effect. By sending Atlantean Dragoons from my deck to my GY I can add Atlantean Heavy Infantry from my deck to my hand. I also activate Atlantean Dragoons' effect. It allows me to add Moulinglacia the Elemental Lord from my deck to my hand.

"I place my two Atlanteans on the Link Marker. LINK-2, bottom-left and bottom-right. Witness the beauty of the mermaid queen, Mermail Abyssalacia!" A purple haired woman emerged from the Link Marker. She wore a midriff-baring breastplate, short shorts, and bare feet greaves.

"Now that I have 5 WATER monsters in my GY (Atlantean Dragoons, Atlantean Marksman, Neptabyss the Atlantean Prince, Mermail Abyssgunde, Warrior of Atlantis), I can also summon this bad boy from my hand: Moulinglacia the Elemental Lord!" A gold and white beast appeared. It forced Bobby to discard his only card in hand.

"I activate the Spell card Salvage to put Neptabyss and Marksman from my GY to my hand, and that's the end of my turn."

Yuria's monsters: Mermail Abyssalacia (1600 ATK, EX-L), Mermail Abyssmegalo (3700 ATK, MMZ-C), Moulinglacia the Elemental Lord (2800 ATK, MMZ-CR)

Yuria's backrow: Abyss-Scale of the Mizuchi (C-equipped to Mermail Abyssmegalo)

"M-hm" Kara nodded affirmatively at her name "Sure, that's no problem." She glanced at Jo, both curious what he might have talked with the officials about earlier and a bit unsure if it was a discussion that should happen out in the open. "I didn't mess up my paperwork or anything, did I?"

Vs. Timothy

Jason shakes his head. He knew this was dangerous now, but if he didn't duel...

You'll die, otherwise.

Jason grits his teeth.

"In Main Phase 2, I activate the Continuous Spell, Dirge of the Lost Dragon!"

A rocky spire rises out from behind him, and an injured red drake stumbles to the top.

"I can declare a card name, and in doing so, make it mandatory to halve your Life Points every time you activate it's effect."

He turns to the spire. "Lost and dying dragon, set your hungry gaze upon...The Agent of Creation, Venus!"

The image of Venus appears before the dragon as it prepares to strike.

"And that'll...end my turn..."

There it was, that burning pain again. It was like the time he had accidentally touched a stove plate. Jack was curled up in the fetal position, slowly sobbing.

He could feel himself getting weaker as his health dropped.

"Oh no. No," Mannic replied, "Have you seen or been approached by, any mysterious strangers in relation to your position in the tournament?"

He lightly hit himself on the forehead, "Other then me, of course," He remarked self-consciously.

Yuria Vs Bobby

"Oh that's a nasty field," The stranger commented, returning their attention to Yuria and Bobby, "Let's see folks, can he get out of this one?"

"I draw."

Bobby looked blankly at the card in his hand, then turned his attention back to the field.

"I'll use the effect of Burgeoning Whirlwind in my graveyard," He declared, "I banish Laval Volcano Handmaiden and Laval Stennon to add it back to my hand."

Two flaming images of the monsters appeared, before turning into streams of fire heading into Bobby's duel gauntlet. The duel disk ejected the trap, which Bobby returned to his hand.

"Next, I'll normal summon Laval Cannon."

The less upgraded version of Stennon appeared, holding it's cannon arm cautiously. (1600/900)

"Now, Cannon's effect. I special summon my banished Stennon."

Cannon fired a flare into the sky, which took the shape of the Laval symbol. A graveyard portal opened up underneath it, which Stennon crawled out of using its free hand. (2700/1800)

"Now, I'll link summon," an arrowhead portal above him, "I'll use Cannon and Stennon to link summon."

The two cannoneers turned into blue and orange tornados (Stennon's had some white in it) and flew into the bottom right and left arrows.

"Sole survivor!" He chanted, having regained a slight bit of energy, "Shielded by your own solidarity, come and begin to rebuild! I link summon Laval Woodsman!"

The resulting monster heavily resembled Laval Phlogis, but older. The bright, burning orange parts of his body had faded to a dull brown and black. The armor he wore was similarly aged, with multiple chips on the rusted metal. New was a small cloak over the top half of his body, including a hood, a backpack filled with flaming logs, and a much larger cleaver. (1800)

"What? Laval has a Link monster?" Yuria said in disbelief. She tapped her duel disk. "Check card... check card!"

Jason Vs Timothy

"Ah, locking down my stratagy?" Timothy mused, "Seems like you're learning..."

"But," He continued, "I will press on. I draw!"

He looked at the four cards in his hand, only one of which Jason knew.

"Perfect."

He put a monster on his duel disk's blade, "As I control the Sanctuary, I can special summon The Agent of Entropy, Uranus!"

On a cold wind, the dark angel appeared alongside his much brighter counterpart, contrasting with their heavenly surroundings. (2200/1200)

"Now, his effect," Timothy announced as Uranus' gnarled staff glowed, "I can send an Agent of the cosmos from my deck to the graveyard, allowing Uranus to gain the same level as it."

"I send the Agent of Judgement, Saturn."

"Next," He said, "I'll activate Celestial Transformation, allowing me to summon one fairy monster from my hand."

"I'll summon the Agent of Creation, Venus!"

The yellow angel emerged from a glowing ball of energy, though looking shrunken and weak compared to her appearance in their previous duel. (1600-800/0)

"That bypasses your spell card. Now, I'll normal summon The Agent of Miracles, Jupiter!"

The orange angel joined his compatriots on the field. (1800/1000)

"Now then, shall we begin the festivities?" Timothy questioned, somewhat mockingly. His angels were ready to descend on Vice Dragon.

"Uranus, attack that dragon with Dark Descent!"

Uranus charged up a ball of dark energy in it's staff, sending it forward to collide with Vice Dragon.

"Jupiter, Earth, Venus, attack him directly!"

The remaining Agents also charged up balls, colored almost identically to their creators, and shot them individually at Jason.

Jack Vs Tina

"Oh, stop with your whimpering!" Tina demanded, ending her turn, "Weren't you taunting me just a minute ago? Where's all that bluster now!?"

Monster: Volcanic Doomfire (Center), Volcanic Battery (Right Extra)

Spell/Trap: Blaze Accelerator (Left), Set Card (Center)

Vs. Timothy

"Shit!" Jason inhales sharply as Vice Dragon explodes. Pain once more shoots through him (LP 7000-5800)

He tries to regain his footing, but the remaining three attacks hit him in each shoulder and his stomach, sending him sprawling with a pained cry. "GYAGH!" (5800-2200)

He holds back bile, but coughs, red staining the stone under him.

He's ruthless...I'm going to die...I'm going to die here!

"Why...why are you...d...doing this...erg..."

He wipes the blood from his lips, pushing him up to a sitting position.
