"Alright, time to turn this thing around. I draw!" Mellie's confidence lasted for all of five seconds as she suppressed a groan. Another lame draw! It was starting to look more and more like she'd end up sitting on Hermitree the entire game. Assuming Charlie didn't just pull out another Volcasaurus or something.

Mellie shook herself out of her complaining and instead focused on the field in front of her. "Okay, okayokayokay, Solda... The other two Evolzars negate stuff, so this one probably does too. It's weaker than Hermitree, which means that one set card is probably some form of protection..."

Mellie muttered to herself for another moment or two before apparently deciding on a plan. "Right. To start things off here, I'll activate Hermitree's effect. I'm sure you know how it goes by now."

A small, one-eyed creature with a massive pink flower for hair appeared on Mellie's field with a poof of smoke, brandishing a knife for a moment before disappearing and reappearing right in front of Mellie, swiping a card off the top of her deck, and disappearing again. Mellie, who at this point had had that effect go off several times, didn't flinch.

"Now, since I excavated Snapdrassinagon, I can excavate another card. After I draw, of course."

Gaaah, another bum draw! This is starting to get really old...

Yuria Vs Bobby

Mistar Boy let out a steam of water and bubbles from it's smiling mouth. It hit the other Stennon, causing it to shatter to pixels.

"Well, at least I took no damage." Bobby responded.

"Sorry to break it to you, but I have two Marksmen aiming at you. Marksmen! Unleash your arrows!" The two Marksmen aimed at Booby and let out bolts of high-speed water.

Yuria Vs Bobby

The two bolts nailed Bobby in the shoulder. (LP: 5200-1400)

"That is not all. Once my Marksmen inflict battle damage to you, I can summon Atlantean monsters from my deck. Come, Atlantean Dragoons (2300 ATK, MZ-1) and Atlantean Attack Squad (2700 ATK, MZ-4)!"

On Yuria's left, a pair of warriors on seahorse appeared; on her right, a gang of sword-wielding fishmen. Yuria's golden eyes flashed for a moment and her breathing implanted beeped like crazy before she gave the final order.

"Attack!"

Mellie's eyes widened as a phantasmal version of the glasses-wearing tree from her first round appeared briefly on her field before dissipating, and a flash of excitement came across her face. Finally, something decent!

"Thanks to the effect of my Sylvan Sagequoia, I can recover the field spell you so rudely destroyed. And, of course, I'll activate it again immediately."

The plain field once again transformed into a lush valley.

"Next, Miracle Fertilizer's effect, to make Lonefire Blossom bloom once again!"

The attack squad and the Dragoon both landed their attacks at the same time, leaving a brief x-shaped mark in the air. Bobby shuddered from the blow for a second or two before half falling to the ground, keeping one leg up. (1400-0)

"Good... game..." He said between breaths, seemingly tired out from the duel. He quickly straightened himself out and approached Yuria with a handshake.

"You know, I told my friends if I was getting taken out of this, I was gonna go out with style..." He remarked as he straightened out his headphone wire.

"I think I at least did that."

"And Yuria finally takes out Bobby by mustering the entire Atlantean army!" Kayla announced.

Mellie Vs Charlie

"Sorry but I'm gonna have to use Solda's effect!" Charlie responded as Solda absorbed one of it's overlay units into its chest.

"I detach an overlay unit, and your Blossom goes belly up!"

Solda's eyes flashed bright red as it commanded its flame helix towards Lonefire Blossom.

...Ah. That's a shame.

The flame helix completely immolated Lonefire, leaving nothing left.

"Unfortunately, that also takes out my Miracle Fertilizer. A shame. I guess there's nothing else for it but to have Hermitree remind that gangly dinosaur why it went extinct!"

Another puff of spores was sent towards Solda.

Yuria shuddered as the adrenaline rush died down. She took a few breaths before shaking Bobby's hand and smiled.

"You are a great duelist. Really got me on the wire there."

Mason...knew deep in his gut that this was gonna be where his career ended. He'd seen Jo duel. He'd seen how OVERWHELMING his deck was...and the worst part, how fast it was at setting that up. He knew that unless he got the miracle hand of a fucking life time, this wasn't going to last five rounds.

So, staring at his opponent, he plucked off the top 5 cards of his deck and looked at them.

Not the best. But it'd be good.

"I summon The Weather Painter Thunder in Attack Mode." He declared to his opponent, as a bolt of lightning struck the spot in front of him and with a giggle, the young girl with the massive "Lightning crayon" appeared. (1700/0)

"Then, I end my turn by setting two cards facedown."

"You too." Bobby replied as he walked off.

Mellie Vs Charlie

Once again, Hermitree let out a mass of orange pollen, which surrounded Solda. After a moment, the evolved dragon shattered into pixels with a roar.

"I activate my trap, Defense Draw!" Charlie responded as his trap revealed itself, creating a barrier against the aftermath of the attack, "I don't take the damage, but since not taking 100 damage isn't that good, I also get to draw a card!"

Yuria looked up at the scoreboard. She saw that "M"'s real name was Jason, and he won decisively. Allin also nabbed an easy win. Perhaps I would've lost to him if not for Trishula.

JACK VS TINA

Jack took a deep breath..."Ow." He monotoned.

"Well, I'm still going to hit you." He said as Ancient Gear Wyvern and Ancient Gear Golem charged at Tina with a combined total of ***4700 Damage***

"Hm. Could've been worse. To finish, I'll send Sylvan Cherubsprout from my hand to my Graveyard to place Sylvan Peaskeeper on the top of my deck."

A tiny, vaguely monkey-looking creature made of leaves popped out from the large tree in the center of the field spell, made a face at Charlie, then dove back down into the leaves as Mellie slipped a card into her Graveyard.

"Right, your turn."

Hermitree is in the middle monster zone.

Jack Vs Tina

Both Gear monster's attacks hit Tina directly, nearly knocking her to the ground. (LP: 5000-300)

"That... all you got?" Tina remarked as she got back up.

Mellie Vs Charlie

"I draw!" Charlie declared. He looked at his new card and grinned, "Here it is! I activate Evo-Price!"

The continuous spell, depicting a bird monster looking up at it's future evolution, appeared next to Charlie, letting out a stream of mysterious mist.

"Then I'll set a monster and end my turn."

Monster: Set Card (Center)

Spell/Trap: Evo-Price (Center)

"...Oookay then. Well, as concerning as that may be, I activate Mount Sylvania's effect during your End Phase to excavate one card. And, of course, I know exactly what it is."

As Mellie spoke, growing more confident by the minute, a large pea pod grew in fast-forward from one of the branches of the large centerpiece tree.

"Using my Sylvan Peaskeeper's effect, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Plant from my Graveyard. So come on back, Cherubsprout!"

The pea pod burst open to reveal the same leaf creature Mellie had discarded on her previous turn. It bounded over to her side of the field and made a chattering sound best described as "mocking". (ATK: 100)

"Next, when Cherubsprout is Special Summoned, I can excavate two cards from my deck. So let's see what those might be, hm?"

JACK VS TINA

"It's way better than what you've shown." Jack said, sitting down and resting his arms on his knees. "I'm going to end my turn now. Impress me." That wolfish grin was spreading across his face again.

Jack Vs Tina

Tina drew her next card.

"Alright, now we're talking. I'll activate my Magic Planter."

The Volcanic Reload trap disappeared in a shimmer of light, "I send a continuous trap to the grave to draw two cards," She explained as she took the top two cards from her deck.

"Now, I'll use Reload's graveyard effect!" She declared as a trio of Tri-Blaze cannons emerged from a portal to the graveyard, "I can send a Volcanic to the graveyard, so I'll send Volcanic Scattershot!"

A three headed lizard, engulfed in flame, appeared on Tina's shoulder, jumping towards the open chamber of the Accelerator.

"When Scattershot is put in the graveyard by a Blaze Accelerator," Tina continued, "I can send his two bros to the graveyard with him."

Two more Scattershot's appeared next to Tina, heading into the other chambers of the accelerator.

"Not only do you take 500 damage for each one, but since I sent the whole set..." Tina explained as the Accelerator's chambers cocked and aimed at Jack's field, "All those antiques are destroyed!"

The accelerator finally fired, sending the three explosive Scattershots heading straight for Jack's field.

Upon seeing her two excavated cards, Mellie finally smiled properly, a wide, slightly vicious grin. "That's more like it. Due to Flowerknight's effect, I can place a Sylvan monster from my Deck on top of my Deck. I choose a second copy of Sylvan Hermitree. And now, I'll take my turn properly. I draw."

Mellie drew, with an expression of mock surprise on her face when she looked at the card. "Oh, my, I wonder what this is. Certainly not my second copy of Hermitree. Just kidding, it definitely is. And I'll Special Summon him using Rose Lover's effect, by banishing her from the Graveyard."

The transparent form of a woman in a red dress seemingly made from rose petals appeared briefly on Mellie's field, blew her a kiss (to which Mellie blushed slightly), and turned into a storm of rose petals, soon replaced by a carbon copy of the Hermitree that had been around since Turn 1. (ATK: 2700)

"Next, because I don't trust that Evo-Price card whatsoever, I'll use Mount Sylvania's effect to send a second Cherubsprout to the Graveyard, and place Sylvan Komushroomo on the top of my deck, then immediately use a Hermitree's effect to excavate it and blow it up."

Mellie was starting to get back into the swing of things in a big way. In fact, she realized that she was starting to get that sort of vindictive excitement that always accompanied a comeback win, in her experience. She had to be careful not to get carried away; getting excited over a surprise OTK was one thing, but nobody liked a sore winner.

Mellie Vs Charlie

Komushroomo threw another flaming mushroom at Charlie's spell, setting it aflame and destroying it.

"Ah... dammit."

Yuria walked towards the winner circle, beaming.

"Hey, Mr. M, Mr. Dude. You guys won! Congrats."

Jason chuckles. "Again with the "Mr."...haha, making me feel old."

"You did too, and and with style at that, Ms. Mariana."
