This was probably some serious deja vu for Jerome. Gusto Gulldo burst into three green rings as Pilica flew through them. "Hearts beat together to create a new force. Keeper of the winds and order, arise! Synchro Summon! Level 6! Daigusto Sphreez!"

A blast of wind and light burst forth, and Daigusto Sphreez was now on the field.

Daigusto Sphreez: Level 6, 2000 ATK, Right Extra Zone

"And now, Daigusto Sphreez allows me to add Gusto Gulldo back to my hand."

Anna Vs Jerome

"I can use Replica-Usurper's effect during either player's turn! Usurper Creation!" Jerome declared as Replica-Usurper removed its mask again, this time the copy turning into a masked Sphreez. The token assumed a defensive position next to the other token, and likewise glowed blue. (0/0)

"And now, Patriarch!" Jerome's crystal monster absorbed its other overlay unit and reformed its ribbons, using them to dissolve Sphreez.

The Token is on his far left side of the field.

"Well then, looks like this game is over," Jerome said as he drew, "I'll activate the effect of Augmented Heraldry!" He took a card from his hand and sent it to the graveyard, revealing it to be Heraldic Beast Basilisk, "I can discard a Heraldic Beast to add a Heraldry spell or trap from my deck to my hand! Like Heraldry Reborn."

"Now, about my Patriarch being out of ammo. I can banish Twin-Headed Eagle from my graveyard to attach two Heraldic Beasts from my graveyard to Patriarch!" A portal opened up, two yellow orbs rising up to rotate around Heraldry Patriarch. "I attach Basilisk and Amphisbaena.

"Finally, I'll activate Heraldry Reborn to summon back Leo!" The armored lion rose out of a similar portal to the last, roaring triumphantly. (2000/1000)

"Now, Leo, attack her directly!" The lion pounced towards Anna.

"Alright, I draw ta start ma turn." William looked at his options. Yuria's explosive first turn was a close call so he'd have to push while he has a chance. "I activate mah Spell card Hidden Armory. I mill a card ta add an Equip Spell from ma deck ta ma han'."

"Gulp." I don't like where this is going! There was an Equip Spell that Yuria absolutely dreaded.

"Tch, Trap Card activate! Whirlwind of Gusto!" Anna cried as her Trap Card flipped.

"With this card, I shuffle two Gusto Monsters from my Graveyard back to my Deck in order to Special Summon another Gusto with 1000 DEF or less from my Deck! I Shuffle back Pilica, Descendant of Gusto and Daigusto Sphreez in order to Special Summon Gusto Gulldo from my Deck!"

"I'll add Comic Han' ta ma... well, han'." William smiled, as he placed the green card on the table. "Now I'll activate Comic Han' , targetin' ya mermaid monstah."

Anna Vs Jerome

Jerome frowned at the defending bird, "I can't use Replica-Usurper's effect since I used Augmented Heraldry's active."

He looked towards Leo, "Leo, break it."

The lion pounced again, destroying the green eagle with one swipe.

Anna shrugged. "Well, I guess I get a break here."

As Gusto Gulldo was destroyed into particles of light, they began to form back together to create a new monster, this one a green-haired girl with a silver staff.

"When Gusto Gulldo is destroyed, I'm able to Special Summon Winda, Priestess of Gusto from my Deck."

"These things are like a bloody hydra..." Jerome remarked as he signaled Replica-Usurper.

"Shadow Impact!" The energy beam shoot out from the monster's mask, destroying Winda.

Actually, he's still got the far right monster zone free.

Yuria vs Silly Billy

"Not quite so fast," William said, removing a card from his Graveyard. "I chain mah Skill Prisonah in ma Graveyard, targetin' Toon Kingdom." He looked at the excitement and intensity on his opponent's face. It wasn't the screams and cheers of the crowd but this was still pleasant. "Any othah tricks befo' tha chain resolves?"

"Gah! Not... not at the moment." Holy Poseidon that's the worst case scenario!

Yuria won't activate her face-down until the End Phase or the card is affected by card effects.

Jerome wasn't amused by the new green bird. In fact, he looked rather angry at the constant attack blocking.

"Patriarch," Jerome signaled to his ace to attack.

The mass of crystals let out another lightning strike, destroying yet another Gulldo.

"And once again, Winda takes Gulldo's place."

"Fine," Jerome angrily replied, "Keep stalling."

Scott was quiet, watching the duel and trying to figure out what was going on. That was no monster he was familiar with. It looked like something new...did this loser somehow win the tournament with nobody fuckin noticing?

"Anna! You can win! I know you can!"

This is bad. Really bad. Who knows what other effects that creepy fucker has, and Anna's on the defensive...

"Um, thanks I guess." Anna replied, giving Scott a cursory glance. For a second, she forgot there was a spectator. She had been on the back burner for so long, she was mostly focusing on how to take back this Duel. But this next card she drew might be the answer.

Both Replica and Patriarch are the problem here. However, before Patriarch can spike my monsters after Replica sets up the ball, it needs the chain to resolve so it can start a new one. In that case...

"I activate Quill Pen of Gulldos." Anna swiped the card she just drew onto her Duel Disk and a large green quill pen appeared on the field.

"With this card, I shuffle two WIND monsters back to my deck." On her command, the quill pen because to write by itself in the air, winds whipping up as it did so, and the images of two Gusto Gulldos appeared before disappearing with the wind just as quickly.

"And by doing that, I can return one card on the field back to the hand. I send back Number 18: Heraldry Patriarch! Wait what?" As a giant red "X" appeared on her Duel Disk screen, Anna suddenly remembered what Jerome had said.

While this is on my field, Psychic Xyz monsters like Patriarch can't be targeted by spells or traps!

"Alright then... Heraldic Beast Leo gets sent back to the hand instead!"

As the gloved hand grabbed the opposing mermaid and yanked her into the book, William checked the card he milled from Hidden Armory. Pot o' Duality? Could be worse, I suppose...

Toon Mermail Abyssalacia: 1600 ATK

"I switch Toon Masked Sorcerah ta Attack Mode an' begin ma Battle Phase. Toon Masked Sorcerah will attack ya directly."

"Ugh." The damage was miniscule, but Toon Masked Sorcerer's effect was more troubling, since the more cards William has, the easier it is for him to interrupt her combo next turn.

Anna's stall tactics weren't amusing Jerome.

"Stop hiding behind your birds and clerics!" He yelled as he drew another card, "It's bad enough I was crushed, it's even worse that I was crushed by a fluke!"

The armored lion appeared again, "I'll normal summon Leo!" (2000/1000)

"And now, I'll use Replica Usurper's effect, Usurper Creation!"

Once again, the monster detached its mask, this time the detached accessory turning into a masked Winda, standing in a defensive position. (0/0)

"Patriarch!" He signaled, as another yellow overlay unit rotated into Patriarch's core. Once again, the ribbons formed and dissolved Winda to nothing.

"Now, Replica-Usurper, attack that set card! Shadow Impact!"
