While I fully understand that attorney couldn't use neither gun from illegal search or confession after torture, there is whole situation under the cross monument. Two cops heard killer confessing about planning to kill a girl, threat to kill a cop and attempt to do it, saw/felt seve beating of the police officer. Each of this should be enough to trial him and put him to jail/chair. What happened later at the stadium shouldn't matter.

inb4 this thread gets locked: artistic license.

I'm a big fan of Dirty Harry, in spite of it being antithetical to everything I stand for, but, yeah, they shouldn't have had trouble booking Scorpio.

I don't think many 70s cop movies are all that realistic.
