Hunger Games Simulation: Beyond the Possibilities

As (Player1), (Player2), and (Player3) are killed by (Player4), (Player1), (Player2), and (Player3) yell "LOOKS LIKE WERE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" (Fatal, P4 kills P1, P2, and P3)

(Player1) searches for a lost piece of cheese, but encounters (Player2) on (his/her2) computer.

(Player1) tells (Player2) that (Player3) is a lost cause, and they should cut their losses and get out of here.

(Player1) starts (his/her1) Bliblie control service.

(Player1) beats (Player2) to death with (his/her1) own lifebar. (Fatal, P1 kills P2)

We already have the last event, although P1 uses P2's life bar instead (and is, for some reason, Night-exclusive). I think that can do as a variant.

Before the season begins, though, I want you guys who aren't in the Discord server – and if you ever want to join that, feel free to PM Troper No. 9001, Zanreo, Vengeful Bale or Kablammin 45 – to weigh in on a suggestion I've brought up there.

What I've proposed is a type of season that is similar in scope to our current themed seasons, but differs from them significantly. While themed seasons generally only encourage players to nominate tributes befitting of whatever theme is chosen, these seasons – let's call them novelty seasons for now – would be focused more on playing with the format and other aspects of HGS in some way.

A good example of what I have in mind is this suggestion made by Ichigo Montoya way back in Reboot S48, which was immediately rejected at the time. In fact, it was this suggestion I found while backreading that sort of inspired the idea in the first place, as it does make a significant change to the game's format, even if it's only for one season.

Or, for a much simpler example, the Google Translate Season that was included in the recent themed seasons poll. This season would probably count more as a novelty season than a themed season, since there isn't really a particular theme to adhere to when nominating tributes; rather, the tribute names – and, potentially, the hosting – are very different.

There are other things to consider, such as how often these novelty seasons should occur and how to decide which novelty season to do, but we're putting those aside for now because the main thing we want to know is: is this a good idea? Do you guys want this?

Welcome, everyone, to the 216th Season of the Hunger Games! We got something of a unique one for you tonight as we have a lot of Links here. As in Links from Zelda, Links related to the HGS itself and even a cat named Link. Yes, it will be a very Linky season. But we also have plenty of non-Link people here. So let's get down to it and meet our participants for this◊ season◊!

BATTLE MUSIC: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - Dark Mountain Forest

THE◊ BLOODBATH◊

• The HGS Link finds a drink and after downing it, it becomes so small, you really need to squint your eyes to find it and click on it.
• Nepeta attempting to draw first blood. But it will take more than a mere harpoon to take down Rose Kong!
• And Shinji unleashes Teru into the Arena. And with his psychic powers, will we see him unleashed?
• Maria Theresa finds a sickle to hook some people in.
• Wolf Link thinking Reigen should make an attempt at a pacifist run.
• Ming Lee is the perfect candidate to bring others over to hear Katniss's speech. Seeing that she's overbearing, no one is willing to fight her, lest they're ready for Hell to break loose.
• And we get a glimpse of Takuya Yamashiro during his motorcycling career. In the days before he becomes Spider-Man. The Japanese Spider-Man.
• The sight of bones sends Arnold Shpitz running!
• Adam Murray is smol. So smol, you can fit him in your pocket.
• And of course our first casuality is the pet cat. The feline is no match against the R-9DH Grace Note as he's bombed to kingdom come.
• And if that weren't bad enough, Ruby Ramirez kills the Baby Fox! This is clearly not the season for the cute animals.
• Link and Malon are hoping they can find an outcome showing if they win one of them. But they'll never know as Red Link sends them both to the Permanent Red Link Club.
• Yeah, we'll see how that goes, Yasha.
• One portal opening up later and R-9D Shooting Star makes a crash-landing into the Arena. Don't worry, folks. The ship is okay.
• Regidrago has a BFG and is looking to clean out a room.
• Guess Muzu doesn't seem to be aware of what he's walked into.
• Link and Imp Midna already going on the kill, slicing off Twinrova's head. Guess the former is not willing to deal with one of their enemies now.
• And Jon Talbain is DENIED!
• Ibuki doesn't seem to know that Hunger Games absolves themselves of responsibility no matter what happens to our tributes.
• Bronto Burt suggests that the Fated Four also make a pacifist run.
• And running away from the Cornucopia are Ho Lee Fak, Waddle Dee, Padme & Anakin, Zuko & Mai (who are speedrunning the process), Vaati, Weird Al Yankovic, Sabrewulf, Frankie the Octopus, Yuga, Lucky Swiftail, Vriska Serket, Mei, Miku, Zelink Army, the Elite Ghostbusters, CD-i Link, Regieleki, Link & Twili Midna, and the Pastimers Club.

DAY 1◊

• They say "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen". But Nepeta ends up in a place that's even hotter. But she'll be fine.
• The Red Link decides it's wise to leave after a beehive falls from the very tree it shook.
• Miku hoping to get in a kill herself and shove the CD-i Link off to his death below. But Link unleashes the power of the CD-i to fly out of there alive.
• And Teru already going unleashed. Who needs psychic powers when you got a bat? And Vaati's van becomes the first victim of his carnage.
• That's one milkshake you don't wanna bring the boys into the yard to. It's certainly not better than yours.
• Vriska finds the the group of Zeldas and Links, Weird Al and Frankie the Octopus are quite religious.
• Wolf Link already off to a good start in his little health shop.
• Sometimes it's when we don't intend to do things is when things actually work out.
• So much for not acting OOC, eh, Yasha? But Yasha does seem to have the right body to display himself in the window.
• R-9DH shows what life would be like if Ming Lee weren't so overbearing.
• And things sour for Ho Lee Fak after losing his eyes over his lemon stick snack.
• Four is the perfect number needed to look out for anything around a camp.
• Arnold sees potential in Zuko and Mai as mikos and hires them on the spot.
• Reigen and the GROUP find a kayak big enough for all of them before they hit the river.
• The Japanese Spider-Man does have the base to brag. He was a daredevil and of course he's Spider-Man. In Japan anyway.
• Watch out, Capitol. Maria Theresa is coming. And she may bring fourth the might of the Austrian military to aid in her rebellion.
• Lucky Swifttail, there's a special place in Hell for scum like you.
• Waddle Dee is shown to be quite a shot as he manages to make a bullet hit all three of the crotches of the Pastimer Club girls while also hitting the grenade. They are all decimated.
• They are wrestlers so I wouldn't think they know much about the high life.
• You heard it here, folks! Uncle Roger and Kirby exist in the same universe.
• Wouldn't think Yuga would be the model for sophistication but apparently he makes a good teacher on the subject.
• Seeing all these Link-related tributes does have Link and Twili Midna wondering whose idea was it to bring in all these links?
• May the Force be with Padme and Anakin and hoping their teeth are looking good.
• Mei is disturbed over seeing Sabrewul clawing at the HGS Link, trying to click on it. But he struggles since it's so small, it's hard to click on.

NIGHT◊ 1◊

• Ming Lee is making sure her camp is fortified. To make things as hard and painful as possible to those who dare enter.
• Jon Talbain received the gift of a white science wand to make some science.
• Uh-oh, the monsters under the bed devour the entire GROUP.
• The Red Link follows the blue link and clicks on it. It finds several heated exchanges between Miku and Maria Theresa.
• Yasha is looking after Waddle Dee because the latter playing pinball would be bad if Link and Imp Midna catch him. What a guy.
• Lucky Swiftail climbs the Eiffel Tower while the R-9DH Grace Note flies all the way to the top of it.
• Watch out for the power of Weird Al and his sword of light.
• Yes, I agree. The HGS Links are inevitable.
• You would think that having eight tentacles, Frankie would have the advantage in the fight against Mei. But Mei is too fast for the octopus as she gets stripped of her armor and pushed to her death below, where she splatters into the ground hard. What a calamari calamity!
• Water can be memorizing. The way it shimmers and shines.
• With the way Nepeta's been sweating, maybe a nice rain bath is what she needed.
• I'd be worried too! I'd be worried how a toilet can survive the possible giant Spider-Turd if you need to flush it that many times.
• The bad moon is rising because he's from a CD-i game. Somewhere, the AVGN is screaming in horror.
• With the bad moon rising, Ruby might be out of luck here. She'll probably go thirsty if she doesn't get up and get herself a drink.
• The Force is not with Padme and Anakin in that game of Rock, Paper, Scissors.
• Ibuki (that is, the Street Fighter one. Not the other one that got turned into nuggets) won't take the online crap from the Elite Ghostbusters sitting down. Not especially from people known for staged fighting and not real fighting. So she shows them all real fighting. No disrespect to professional wrestling in general though. It's just way different than street fighting. Both the game and actual street fighting.
• Link and Twili Midna can't handle the cows interrupting their conversation with Regieleki, so they just yell at them to shut up their mooing, as you do.
• Ho Lee Fak just cannot seem to hide in the game of Sardines and regrets it.
• Then you might want to lose the mask when day comes, Reigen.
• There you go, Ruby Ramirez. Maybe you can get your drink of water after all.
• Sometimes the camera doesn't capture our best sides. And it's not really the best way to sell your image on a book.
• The army of Link and Zelda are more than a match for any traps set by the Homestruck troll. 8etter luck next time.
• Did Arnold adopt a Teletubbie as a pet or some unknown species? Who knows?
• The Wolf Link showing off that immature side in his username.

• R-9D looking to devour Yuga and destroy some Bydo colonies.

• The Force is still not strong with Padme and Anakin. You'd think at least Anakin would have sensed the firecracker about to go off, but...
• Ho Lee Fak wants the Red Link's hands. But after a response to his pun, the Red Link links to this message: "We don't have anything called 'hands'. If you'd like to create them, click on the edit button above and create 'hands'."
• Link and Imp Midna are hoping that medical soup is good for the soul as they grieve Twinova of all tributes, seeing as how they killed her earlier. Maybe it's the guilt that's eating them up as well as their body fat.
• R-9D Shooting Star might have been hungry for Yuga, but the ship refuses to eat the cinammon roll. It's too good.
• Ha ha, valves out of Valve games! Do you get it? DO YOU???
• Nothing terrifying like a tiger mom kicking the shit out of somebody. A site that makes even a guy with psychic powers and a ship take off.
• Yeah, eats bugs and keeps library books, don't forget that.
• If someone called the cops on me, I'd like a cake, too. Make it buttercream and you'll really earn my forgiveness.
• Regifrago getting darkly philosophical with Arnold. Why not? They're in the right place for it.
• Weird Al and Rose Kong forming a new musical duo?

• The Bronto Burt ate something that doesn't seem to agree with him. Unfortunately, Yasha, Yuga and Maria Theresa, who were trying to find a way to help him, are distracted by their own drawings. Take a Tums there, Burt.
• 8eing angry over not 8eing a8le to trap the Zeldas and Links, Vriska takes out all her frustrations of the Fated Four by dunking all their heads into toilets.
• When I say when nature calls, nature's my bathroom, I don't mean just as a toilet either. A waterfall also makes for a good shower.
• Looks like the library is watching its books more closely after what Lucky Swiftail did. Nice try, Miku.
• HGS Link clicks on the correct link while playing Are You Smarter Than These Tributes? and manages to win and become a millionaire.
• Muzu gets a job as a fry cook at a burger joint. But the boss doesn't like the shapes on how he cut the fries. So the boss fires him... from his job and from life.
