There are countless images across the wiki that — while they look fine with the normal display — contrast badly with Night Vision's color scheme. The purpose of this thread is to weed these images out by replacing them with either transparent versions, or sometimes just a higher-quality version.
What causes an image to contrast most often is that it has an unnecessary, blank white background. A good example is the former image for Orbot & Cubot◊ on the character subpage for Sonic The Hedgehog, which has since been swapped out for a transparent version◊.
Another cause is when the image in question is already transparent, but it wasn't cut out properly and now has an unsightly artifact of its background around it. For example, the former image◊ for Studio Ghibli, which has also been replaced with a cleaner version◊.
These details are basically impossible to notice on the normal display's white background, and since not everyone uses Night Vision regularly, a lot of these images sneak through. Please keep Night Vision in mind when suggesting or uploading any new image for use on a page.
To tell if an image needs replacing, just switch on Night Vision (if you don't already have it enabled) and see if the image has either of the two problems detailed above. If it does, then either add it to this index and report it here so someone can replace it or, if you are able to, go ahead and replace the image yourself. You don't need to ask for permission; image quality upgrades are a free action. You are not obligated to report any upgrades you made here, but that would be appreciated, since that would help this thread get traffic.
Please note that not every image with a white background will need to be replaced. In some cases the white background is as much a part of the image as any other detail. Take for instance, the page image◊ for The Lost Room. Other examples, like any page that uses a panel from a black-and-white comic or manga, such as the current image◊ for Heroic Resolve, should also be okay (unless the background takes up a unusual amount of space, then it will probably just need to be cropped). If you are unsure if an image should be replaced, bring it up here.

It's effectively impossible to see the white background on Normal View.
The page image for Misty May seems to be outdated for Night Vision mode. It's showing white spaces.

I made a transparent version of the Contrasting Sequel Main Character image. Pinging ~Trans Fan 180, who added the image: was it intentional to have Judai on white and Yusei on black to reflect their contrasting personalities?

Yes, having black and white as part of the background was absolutely part of the idea (I felt it wasn't obvious enough, otherwise), but if everyone else thinks the transparent version would look better, I'm fine with the change.
With no background you really can't tell the two are from different series.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99Ā¢How does the background color help that?
If anything, we should have the series' respective logos underneath them.
The white/black contrast makes them feel separate. Without it they just look like the optimistic hero and his cynical friend.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99Ā¢My problem with the white (besides night-vision issues) was the fact that it kinda seemed to wash out the character; while this loses the contrast it looks better aesthetically IMO because there's not an ugly white-on-white situation.

Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessShould I start an Image Pickin' thread for Contrasting Sequel Main Character?
Object Madness has the opposite problem as usual: it looks fine in night vision, but bad in the default view.
Keet cleanupGA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class has a white background, and I can't find a transparent version. It does have an image links page with other cover illustrations that might work better as the main work page image. Thoughts?
I've been thinking about this for a while now- shouldn't this be in Image Pickin', like the other image maintenance threads are?
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure Pureness...Y'know, probably.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99Ā¢I was told to open it here because we had just moved a lot of image-related cleanup threads from IP to here. Apparently people were getting annoyed at all the pinned threads at the top of IP. That was never a big deal to me, though.
Now there's a ton of them though and I feel being in IP would get this more traction.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessStock Shōnen Hero has a white background, I took it to Image Pickinā but it hasnāt been opened yet.
...Uh, the reason we have this thread is so people don't have to open image pickin' threads.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99Ā¢The Image Suggestion thread voted unanimously to put this image◊ on Paste Eater, but it has a white background.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99Ā¢Yo. Whipped up a transparent version of the 2017 Ubisoft logo to use on the page; the one that's on there now is the version they had prior to that, but it's still being kept per suggestions made here a year ago.

My proposal:
I believe the justification made before was that using the typical all black or all white versions of the logo would be out of place on one viewmode or the other. The blue's derived from the company's identity for its Uplay app, and works with both light and dark backgrounds.

Classic Disney Shorts looks pretty bad in night vision.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"The new pic on Scavengers Are Scum needs to be made transparent.
...isn't that image kinda JAFAAC?

Should Contrasting Sequel Main Character have a transparent background? I think having the cheerful character on a white background and the moody one on black adds to the image.
