I wished they did what Project M did and made them separate characters.

If I was in charge of Young Link, I'd base him off of his Majora's Mask version. He'd have four forms to choose from: his default form, his Deku form (which is basically a Pichu version in that he's even smaller and easier to knock out but faster), his Goron form (where he's a slow heavyweight with fast dashing speed like Charizard), and his Zora form (where he works sort of like Greninja).
It's been 3000 years…At least the stamina and type weakness gimmicks were removed so you can stay with whoever you want.
Uni catIt just feels like a disservice that LOZ is one of Nintendo's flagship titles alongside Mario and Pokémon, yet has less than half the characters represented than either of those.
Not only that, it hasn't had a new character since Brawl, and that was a clone. It's nice that the main trio have gotten updated designs, but that feels like a silver lining to a big empty cloud.

they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGobThe only non-trio character (meaning no Tetra or Ganon) I'd like to see is Tingle. I honestly don't think he's that unpopular anymore. Like Navi, he's a memetic Hate Sink but I don't actually think anyone has strong feelings about him one way or the other.
Impa would be okay, especially if she's Skyward Sword Impa (i.e. the best one), but I'm just not that into her as a character.
Hard agree. Now that Ridley and King K. Rool are playable, Zelda feels like the most neglected series for its size.

Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?There's Impa. Anyway the problem with Zelda characters besides team triforce is that they are seen more as flavor of the series. Remember Vaati?
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.A big empty cloud that is...the entire series apparently.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. That applies to most Fire Emblem character, though you can argue that FE characters are all protagonists, but it does not excuse Midna.
Where there's life, there's hope.What about Beedle...?
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.His Final Smash would be to take you up onto his flying shop in Skyward Sword just to kick you off.
It's been 3000 years…We're not really going to just forget about Midna, are we?
She's easily the most iconic out of all of the Exposition Fairy characters in the series, and her character arc is so well-fleshed out that the entire plot Twilight Princess is arguably her story. She's instantly recognizable to anyone even passingly familiar with the series, and has a distinct personality and aesthetic unlike any other Zelda character.
Given some fleshing out, I could easily see a Midna/Wolf Link duo as a playable character.

there's also zant and majora himself that could make for really weird/cool fighters.
you make me want to do terrible things to you~Everyone that wants Impa seems to want Hyrule Warriors Impa, but that seems unlikely considering it's a main game. We'll likely get Skyward Sword Impa.
Midna would be neat too. I could see her working with Wolf Link, but how would she work on her own?
stretchy hair and dark magic
you make me want to do terrible things to you~I can imagine a moveset but it's weird imagining Midna on her own. Then again, Fox and Zelda weren't fighters until Smash so I don't doubt it'll be pulled off fine.
Midna's attacks would consist of biting her opponet's ankles and floating around the stage.Chances if Midna was playable it would be in her princess form with moves similar to Zelda
New theme music also a boxor maybe riding wolf link, since tp link is now both link.
you make me want to do terrible things to you~I think wolf link would be part of her smash attack
New theme music also a boxI figured her true form would appear in her Final Smash.
yeah midna is cool and all, but what about MAJORA HIMSELF!? not skull kid or the moon, but just majora, attacking with all those weird tentacles and stuff, and can even borrow moves from the other bosses of mm, the possibilities are endless!
you make me want to do terrible things to you~...
I still think Hyrule Warriors should have given its OG treatment not just to Link, Zelda/Sheik, Ganondorf and Impa, but to the whole cast.
> MAJORA HIMSELF!?
I've said before that I'd perfer Majora, but he's probably too complicated since he's got more then one form
New theme music also a boxI could see Sidon working. He seems speedy and tough. Maybe he could use water moves similarly to Squirtle to move around.
Midna's moveset in Hyrule Warriors doesn't feature Wolf Link at all. He's replaced by a generic Twili-looking wolf. They could easily do the same for Smash.
I didn't bring up SK and Midna since they've gotten the AT treatment, but they're really the ideal choice for LOZ reps- super popular, highly requested, title characters, unique designs with plenty of potential for their movesets. SK is the only non-Ganon mainline Big Bad besides maybe Demise, and he skirts a little too close to being connected to Ganondorf for me personally. In my dream world SK is a fighter and Majora is a boss, but that's just me being greedy for MM rep.
Besides those there's Impa and Tingle. Ghirahim's deconfirmed but why not Zant since the TP rep has dropped to zero. Then there's the Champions from the most recent best-selling game, and other popular/well-known characters like the OOT Sages, Groose or Linebeck, Fi, Sidon...
Hell, why not open the floodgates now that Piranha is in. Get a bog-standard Deku/Goron/Zora/Gerudo in there. A Great Fairy. An Octorok

I guess Sakurai's excuse would be that ALttP!Zelda doesn't have a Sheik, but neither did TP!Zelda and they totally made one up for her. Heck, the Sheik in Ultimate is clearly a BotW!Sheik. They could've done it.
Anyway... even though Zelda is my second or third favorite Nintendo thing, now that so many of my favorite characters (including Tetra) are playable in Hyrule Warriors, I'm not as greedy for them in Smash.
