So i'm guessing Axel and Blaze are in their forties if Adam has a daughter? Would make sense considering the sequel gap and them being in their 20s during the nineties
I don't know why Cherry being able to run is a deal breaker considering she's Skate 2.0 (she has his same grab and down air) and back in 2,the undisputed fan favorite, he was also the only one that could run.

3rd one lets you run, seems to be a step backward if that's really the case.
Judging by the silhouette is there only 2 more characters to left? So much for everyone returning.
I never expected everyone to return; if only because I also expect them to sell some DLC.
3 had running and a better special move system and yet I still consider 2 to be superior. It's just got that Je Ne Sais Quoi.
s my favorite. Best controls, a variety of characters, and I adore the noise/hardcore techno soundtrack.
I don't think it's as good as 2 but I do think it's severely underrated, the soundtrack in particular.
I gotta play Streets of Rage 3 again, because I remember specifically that I didn't like it as much I wanted to in comparison to 2 & 1
I thought 3 was overall a step down, but you could play as a kangaroo. So there was a tradeoff.
3 was a step down in aesthetic presentation, final boss(robot Y sucked balls I'll admit) and maybe sound direction, but the gameplay depth, controls and level design was definitely a step up from 2(though axel was nerfed lol). SOR 3 legit controls better than 90% of the other beat em ups out there, including 2. And it's no doubt an improvement over SOR 1 in general. Also Blaze was waaay better in SOR 3 than she was in 2, in fact that's her best incarnation by far whereas she's like the worst character in every other game.
Actually 2 did have more enemy variety.
Not including run for everyone was stupid and even Remake had enough sense to not do this. I bet we can't roll either, smh. Though really only SOR 3 specifically got the roll right, it was kinda janky in BK 3.

Some actual footage.
-sigh- I'm having reeeeeal mixed feelings on this. The more I see of this game, the more I don't like.
For a general beat em up it doesn't look bad, but
I'm hoping this is just beta blues because the game looks rough at this point. Pretty, but rough once you get past the colorful glamour. Doesn't hold a candle to Remake so far.
Considering the character select theme is the opening from SOR2, we heard proper vocal samples for Cherry in her trailer that don't appear to be in this build, and the sound effect for the player characters getting hit is a pretty blatant placeholder, I think it's pretty safe to say that the game is still very early and nearly all the sound mixing and sound effects is subject to change.
The actual gameplay looks really solid so far with ground bounces and a lot more opportunities for extending combos than there have been in the past.
Something else I like is how it looks like they're handling that old tradition of specials eating your health - it looks like it and friendly fire damage can be recovered by hitting the enemy with regular attacks, unless you get hit by an enemy attack and lose all your temp health before you recover it.

Seems like a better way to keep that mechanic while balancing it more in the player's favor.
