Ah there we go. Fixed.
The web gen Animation for the teaser was (mwah) fucking lit. The gameplay looks great, too.
Yuzo Koshiro better be in it

And here's a trailer embed for those who don't want to click off-site.
Description:"Lizardcube, Guard Crush Games and Dotemu are thrilled to present Streets of Rage 4.
Featuring hand-drawn visuals from the team behind 2017’s gorgeous Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap remake, Streets of Rage 4 builds upon the classic trilogy’s gameplay with new mechanics, a fresh story and a gauntlet of dangerous stages with a serious crime problem."
This is a nice, out-of-nowhere surprise. I kind of doubt it'll surpass the content in the fanmade Streets of Rage Remake, but I'll be keeping my eye on this one.
According to the youtube description it's someone called Kirosen. Don't know if that's just for the trailer though.

Fucking finally it's seeming that Sega is learning that banking on 1 franchise isn't the best idea
I noticed Blaze's look seems to be a combo of her first game look (the leather jacket) and her second and third game appearance (the halter top).
Interesting that this happened after Axel found his way into Project X Zone 2. Wonder if that played a role in his return.
Something must have happened to Axel that he grew a beard, while either Blaze just aged that damn well, or she didn't age at all. She just looked like her previous self, just with a jacket.
She's a hot female. they're essentially not allowed to age.
Axel could still be pretty young (it's possible to grow an epic beard when still in your twenties right?), but yeah, it's more likely they are just have Blaze age gracefully to keep her good looking.
...there's also the explanation that he was already older than her, even if still young.
Axel and Blaze were 22 and 21 respectively in the first game.
That year gap makes all the difference you see
Not feeling the trailer music. Koshiro's still active and was such a huge part of the soul of the franchise (even if he only did like 70% of the music) that I hope they get him on to contribute at least a few tracks like Persona Q did for its bonus boss.
It is good to see my favorite beat em up series alive again, I just hope they do it justice.

It's happening. GOD.
HOLY SHIT!!! This is good news, side scrolling beat 'em ups are the only action genre of games that have yet to make a come back. Hopefully "that other company" will take notes and release HD versions of theirs or just revive the genre all over again.
Amazing news, though I wish they had sprites instead of hand drawn as hand draw stuff tends to lack a sense of impact but I udnerstand why. I'm not crazy about the art style so far though. Question is, will it be better than Streets of Rage Remake?
Because if not it'll just be Sonic 4 all over again.
Where's adam and skate? And Max?
Also I hope these guys don't get stupid and use SOR 2 as the basis for the gameplay when SOR 3 had better gameplay and level design, even if you didn't like the other parts of it. It was more responsive, had better controls(especially the SOR 3 version if only for the improved roll), and deeper combat.
I can tell you pointblank it won't be better than Remake. That fan game was almost a decade in the making and came from a level of passion for the series only hardcore fans have.
But I won't hold it against the game for that since it's looking pretty alright given what I assume to be a relatively small budget. I'm hoping it'll at least bring back Max, Adam, and Skate, since Axel and Blaze alone aren't that distinct or interesting, and I've never played either nearly as long as any of those other 3 in any of the games. Zan I can give or take, and 3 was kind of controversial so I could see their excluding him.
I only don't like Zan that much because he's a robot and felt overly fantastical compared to the badass normals of the other cast.
Axel and Blaze are the only consistent playable characters in all 3 games so I get why they were confirmed first. But it'd be a shame if the others got excluded.
The lady with the snake makes me wonder if we might also get some new characters. Or even exclusively have new characters join Axel and Blaze. Every other numbered entry added new guys to the mix, so I wouldn't be opposed to it, and snake lady's design is pretty solid, so I think they can come up with some good ones.
Either this or she's the new crime boss.
Bare Knuckle. Bareknuckle. Bareknuckle.
So, no Adam or Skate. Just Blaze and Axel this time around... oh, right, DLC.
I doubt it. They're some small indie company that mostly does remakes and ports, and Wonder Boy III didn't have any DLC.
First the made a sequel to Windjammers and now they bring back Streets of Rage? I'm loving this developer.
I guess this explains why SEGA clamped down on SOR Remake.
That small bit of gameplay we got looks good but I hope the music is better than what the trailer implies. Seriously, that didn't sound like SOR at all.
As much I liked Streets of Rage back in the day, if all it's going for is the graphics then I might pass on it. I feel more compel to buy it to help them.
