Set It Up is a new Netflix romantic comedy, starring Zoey Deutch, Glen Powell, Lucy Liu, and Taye Diggs.

The premise is that two beleaguered personal assistants set up their nightmare bosses so they can have free time. This is the most cheesy fanfic concept in the history of the world, it’s entirely predictable, and it works PERFECTLY.

Anyone else seen this yet? Thoughts?

I saw it!

Quite charming. I really haven't seen a romcom from the last 20 years that hasn't grated me in someway, but this one does some nice subversions of the genre while also sticking to the formula nicely— which is no small feat.

One nitpick, and it really is small, is that a lot scenes, although funny, would end with the comic relief saying something funny/outrageous, and flash, next scene. This did get a tad bit repetitive and noticeable.

It's actually nice to see something genuinely funny because I did laugh out loud several times watching this.
