Not familiar with JJK, but I recently launched Evolutionary Pressure Cooker and was wondering about this example I found on the Wikipedia article for Kodoku. A JJK manga page also came up when I was hunting for a page image.
- Sukuna partacts [sic] in a bath that was traditionally a ritual used to protect family heirlooms by turning them into cursed tools. It required soaking in a solution of cursed energy formed from crushing and straining venomous creatures through the process known as kodoku. Uraume was able to reconstruct this ritual using cursed spirits in the Zenin clan's disciplinary pit. Uraume froze the cores of curse spirits before slicing them apart and filtering them. Sukuna is using the bath to become closer to evil, which submerges Megumi's soul into submission.
Can somebody help me rewrite this?
I'll post that up, thanks.

Trust me, I'm an engineer!
As of right now, I don't think the Sukuna/Megumi/Uraume stuff applies—Sukuna and Uraume's goal was to break Megumi's spirit, not make him stronger; they seem to have succeeded. The only part of this paragraph that actually fits the trope can be rewritten like this:
- The Zen'in clan of Jujutsu Kaisen keeps a room of cursed spirits that they use to punish and humiliate noncompliant family members. When Ogi leaves Maki and Mai there to die, he only half-succeeds: Mai passes away and takes her cursed energy with her, allowing Maki to evolve and kill the rest of the creatures.

There is no war in Ba Sing Se.After almost two years, I finally started to watch the anime again - last time I dropped somewhere around ep 10, mostly because I got busy during that period and never picked it up for some reason.
My God, the action scenes are just so damn crisp. And goodness gracious, everything, I mean almost everything about Todo is quite possibly THE single best thing to come out of this manga, along with pre-Prison Realm Gojo.
I think I'm gonna binge through Season 1 pretty quick and finish the Movie and Hidden Inventory arc as well.
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.So... did Larue actually die, or was Miguel just being dramatic?
Rodimus: Self-sacrifice, Magnus— It's cheap. It's a cheap way out. I need to live so I can make amends.Do you guys think Yuji is the only one whose Simple Domain broke? He´s the only one we saw getting slashed, so to me that would imply the others managed to withstand full output Malevolent Shrine for over a minute and a half. A very impressive feat (especially for Miwa). Either that or Sukuna didn´t target everyone equally and put more focus on Yuji (like Dagon did in his domain).
Exactly. The world-cutting slash isn't a new technique; it's a new application of his own technique. He only used Mahoraga as the basis for something he was theoretically already capable of doing.
The idea that Sukuna just copied Jogo's fire just brings up the question of if he can do that why hasn't he done it with literally anything else.

Personally i´ve come around to the theory that the Malevolent Kitchen translation was on to something and the flames are just the representation of cooking after cutting.
As a sidenote some people who believe in that idea think that´s why Yujis versions works with the "cut here" lines. His intepretation wouldn´t be proper cooking, but opening the packaging of junk food and his version of the flame attack would be microwave radiation.
I really like the reveal about how Furnace works because it recontextualizes his behavior in Shibuya. Assuming the anime version is canon, Sukuna was spamming Cleave and Dismantle because he wanted to ensure the entire area was his and the Fire Arrow would destroy everything.

Just Having Fun

I feel like the addition of Cleave had the groundwork laid out pretty clearly from the time Gojo explained that techniques imprint on your body. Like, I know cleave isn't Sukuna's super secret innate technique, but it seems to be a technique...even if it's not, it doesn't seem like a stretch that jujutsu related skills in general imprint on your body, since we've seen that happen multiple times with cursed energy as well.
By "a question no one asked before," do you mean in-universe, or by fans? I feel like both assertions are incorrect. People have been asking "who is this kid" since basically the time Yuji started fighting, and there have been consistent hints that he's special in some Sukuna-related way. Fans have been asking about his ancestry since the start as well, and as mentioned, "Yuji is Sukuna's twin" has been a popular fan theory for quite a while.
I dropped this manga for a while because of all the Ass Pulls (and Maki's apparent death a while ago, should've known better about that though), but this revelation is definitely...not that.
