Warning! Copium: I wonder if the detail of Gojo (probably) having the last Sukuna finger hidden away is setup for Nobara attacking it to inflict soul damage on Sukuna at a critical moment in the fight.

I've thought about that. I don't think it would feel earned or justify the way the situation has been handled, but I could see it being a thing.

I recently watched the movie for the first time. It just hit me how strong the parallels are between Yuuta/Rika and Gojo/Geto. Yuuta and Gojo can't bring themselves to process Rika and Geto's deaths, which leads to the latter two persisting in dangerous, perverted forms. Both Yuuta's arc in the movie and Gojo's current arc in the manga deal with putting their friends to rest.

While it's clearer to me now that Gojo and Geto love each other quite a lot, I still think their love is platonic rather than romantic.

Another opinion the movie reinforced for me is that Yuuta has the worst characterization and development of any of the Tokyo students. His initial arc of grieving properly and learning that life is worth living with friends is fine (if a little cliche). The scene where he lets Rika go is sweet. Then...he simply manifests a hollow version of her monstrous form and continues fighting, gaining zero new skills (besides reversed cursed technique, which is only brought up in one chapter) or insights in the main manga. His fight was my second-least-favourite in the Culling Game. The only thing that brings it above Megumi vs. Reggie for me is the fact that I found Uro pretty cool.

Chapter 225:
Basically, everyone else watching thinking of what's gonna happen next, and then, what happens next: Domain Expansion, Gojou goes for surrounding Sukuna, but FAILS...

I find this interesting. Because going off the chapter it sounds that outside of Gojo's inherent cheat abilities, Sukuna's just overall better than him. Which actually is the impression I already had, but I wasn't sure if the story wanted it to seem that way. And also most other readers didn't seem to agree.

That being said, even if Gojo loses (which I do think is the more likely outcome for a number of reasons, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did win), obviously it's not going to be from this. That's way too soon.

Yeah, were Gojo to die from this, the Internet Backdraft would be massive. Gege may dislike him, but doing that would be the nail in the coffin for many readers since Gojo is one of the main draws of the series.

Also, seeing everyone discussing what was going on, it felt like I was watching a YouTube Reaction Group. Or a JoJo's battle.

Fifteen-ish pages of Magi Babble followed by an anticlimactic defeat. Yeah, that's JJK alright.

I thought everyone agreed that slash definitely wasn't a defeat.

Yeah I very much doubt that this is the end of the fight.

Gojo will get injured but will pull out some other tricks to continue the battle.

I'm expecting to at least get Mahoraga vs Gojo.

Yeah this fight ain't ending until Sukuna is forced to bring out the Ten Shadows and maybe also the item Yorozu gifted him.

Yeah it's ridiculous to assume Gojo's down right now, come on.

Gotta say, Sukuna changing the vessel from Yuji to Megumi was probably THE single biggest HOLY SHIT moment for me in this manga by far.

Goddamn, I love him so much as a villain. I really hope he stays evil till the very end.

I mean, Sukuna could beat Gojo here without having to use Megumi's technique at all and that be reserved for whatever comes after. I don't find that particularly likely, but it's possible. Same for whatever Yorozu gave him.

If the story is going to to continue beyond this fight there will be other opportunities for these things to come up.

I be hating for no reason lol. Yeah, I strongly doubt this fight is over just yet, but at the very least this'll have to make Gojo take it truly seriousoy and realize he can't just statcheck Sukuna like he can literally anyone else.

I mean, he should have realized that when his strongest, buffed sneak attack only resulted in Sukuna missing a hand he then immediately restored.

I'm...not really feeling this fight so far. Feels too bogged down in exposition.

Well ok, Gojou bounced back (insert finger bangs), but yeah, the commentary just goes out the other ear for me too...
Oh yeah, and no new chapter next week, apparently...

Yeah, this is proceeding basically like I thought. We're just going to have this back and forth for awhile until Gege decides he's had enough and whichever one happens to be next for the advantage will win.

This honestly reads like a match in a fighting game with each side finding broken new tech.

Here's a thought, what if "Angel" and "Fallen One/Disgraced One" aren't titles, but actual names that shouldn't be translated? And that she and Sukuna are actually siblings or otherwise related?

Considering the story has been so cryptic about all of that it seems like we're gonna go into Sukuna's backstory sooner or later, and if the story is actually ending this year, I'd imagine sooner.

I mean they have some connections to Abrahamic religions as Angels abilities are based around using moves named after things from said Religions, and calling him the Fallen One is directly meant to invoke Fallen Angel.

The real question is when how did they come into contact with it as Christianity didn’t come to Japan until much later.

Think Geto's found family will ever come up again, or are we just done with them? I'm fine with that, none of them seemed particularly interesting, just a bit curious.
