I have this superhero concept rolling around in my mind and just wondered what people here thought of it.

Picture your average superhero team—say, the Justice League for example—with its own roster of members, its own base, and various ways of communicating with one another when help is needed...except that this team's goal is not to fight for justice, but instead to preserve order.

The difference between justice and order is defined as this: whenever and wherever there is an element causing chaos, this team will leap into action and subdue (whether through peaceful talks or by force) the cause of the problem. For example, if a Mad Scientist has built an army of robots to march on developing countries to take advantage of their sub-par armed forces, the team will put an end to the threat and capture the culprit to be locked away.

However, if you have a Doctor Doom or Queen Bee style villain who rules an entire country with an iron fist and yet acts as a stable leader and a group of heroes tries to unseat him or her from power, this team will also rise up to make sure the status quo remains the same, forcefully or not. Thus fulfilling their goal of keeping absolute order around the world and minimizing flare-ups of chaos.

Of course such a team would be morally ambiguous at best, but I think it's an interesting concept. The major conflict I'm imagining for this team is that one of their founding members has seemingly gone rogue overnight and is causing mayhem and destruction on a global scale with seemingly no rhyme or reason other than a few cryptic words: "Because I want to—because I don't have to hold back anymore". In other words, their worst nightmare come true.
