HAHAHA!! I love Daerun. Now there's an enterprising merchant with a sense of humor. All his evil is just so petty but no blood spilled, it's another contrast with Camillia.
So out of curiosity, how does party romance work in this game? I'm getting vibes Daerun is also an option for both men and women.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I can see why, this guy makes me laugh. He's just such a blunt asshole but he feels like a softie.
Totally straight here, but he seems like a safer option than Camillia. Less bondage too.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Yeah for the past few pages, I've been doing a thread let's play.
I've noticed all the obvious warning signs that Camillia is a psychopath of some kind, and that she CERTAINLY murdered that one person at the start when she's formally recruited.
She's also doing a shit job hiding how much she's turned on by violence, and she's mean to Ember.
Not even Daerun is mean to Ember.
Daeran and Camellia are both interesting studies in evil; in fact, the nature of good and evil (as Pathfinder defines them) seems to be one of the major themes of the game. I'd say that Daeran is a more complex character, but Camellia's story is equally worth exploring. I've never seen her full story in my own playthroughs for... reasons... but I don't think you're going to have my problems, Red.

The only things that gave me pause in the Garrison were the one optional fight that triggers ominous music against the alchemist miniboss and his cronies and the room with brimoaks and other foes. And the latter was only tough because I was trying to keep my npc wizard allies alive too for dispelling doors. Otherwise Protection from Fire Communal scrolls trivialized the brimoaks' fireballs.
Honestly, the optional boss fight against the "Prelate's Nemesis" Nabasu in the Marketplace gave me more trouble. Mostly because Death Ward scrolls and Freedom of Movement scrolls are really expensive for Act I, so buffing your whole party with both is tough. An enemy that has a Death Gaze aura (chance to level drain your party) and the Hold Enemy Mass spell (chance to paralyze your whole party) is thus pretty damn tough. Especially since it also summons Ghouls as backup.
No one encounter in the Grey Garrison is as tough as that. The real challenge of the Grey Garrison is that it's a test of your resource management skills. Aside from the Shield Maze — where you barely had resources to manage — the Grey Garrison is the first real dungeon in the game.

Disgusted, but not surprised
The fuck!? I was just buying scrolls and potions and potion making gear, and I saw this.
Camillia! Did you do this!? We are really going to have to talk about human resources in the crusades at some point.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"
RUN STAUNTON! RUN! Gah, the faceless demon is like his abusive ex who still treats him like property. It's painful to watch.
Sheesh, and Staunton's reaction is indeed like someone who escaped an abusive ex. Damn.
OH SHIT, she kidnapped him! That doesn't bode well since she's a seductive demon who can give false love, and he's a guy who has been treated like shit for 70 years, HE MIGHT RELAPSE!
