This is a summer show from CW. It's a fantasy series about a female elf warrior that seeks revenge upon the men who slaughtered her village when she was a child.

It looks pretty good. I was thinking of starting a tropes page for it.

-inhales slowly-

It's a fantasy series ... elf warrior seeks revenge ... slaughtered village ...

I need more of these in my life.

  • elves without pointy ears is a first for me
  • This is a CW show? This promo indicates it's SYFY so unless the latter is owned by the former I'm a bit confused
  • I can believe that this is the CW - they do love their archers, don't they
  • wild mass guess Elves have "black" blood in this setting, maybe?
  • This is the CW so I suspect the first season will be great and the rest will suck
  • This is the CW so I suspect that there will be more romantic subplots in this show than I can be asked to care about
  • Elf Warrior lookin 4 ppl who killed her family = sounds like a 1 season and done kind of show

The show is also going to premiere on Syfy's affiliates outside of the US.

Costumes are solid work, location and stage work competent, sfx by someones cousin that works for peanuts, cast very attractive and can act, fight coordination mediocre. Or rather, its well coordinated, but very, very low speed. I dont think they *have* more than, like, one stunt person, this is what a fight looks like when you are using your actors for everything, and their name is not Donnie yen or Caity Lotz. Plot, so far very tropy, but.. its a pilot, it is not supposed to establish more than "These are our characters"

@Soble: The young girl at ~0:10 seems to have pointy ears. The girl at the very start looks like she has round ears—but looking again at the shot at ~0:10, it looks as though the points may droop a bit, and so might be slightly obscured by the angle at the start.

That "Season 1 Promo" looks interesting—hopefully it will appear on one of the local streaming services here! ^_^

.... I just checked imdb. Either someone is being extremely lazy about updating it, or their stunt department is literally one woman. One. Woman. A woman with an impressive resume and the apparent kinestesia of a minor goddess https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_E6Rhd2YvA (Stunt reel) but.. that is their entire stunt department! Did they make this show with the money found in the couch cushions?

Talon did have pointy ears when she was a kid. After her village was slaughtered she cut off the pointy bits so she could pass for human. There seems to be a widespread racism against elves in this world. Talon's people were pacifists, and the local kids apparently took that as license to throw rocks at elf kids, though they ran when an adult elf showed up. Somebody wanted all of Talon's people wiped out, and I think it has something to do with the creature that stuck its arm through a portal to intercept the arrow that would have killed Talon. One of the other Elves was beseeching Talon's mother to "Call them!" during the attack, despite them having taken an oath not to. She was killed before she could, but something passed into Talon.

possibly the worst acted, badly filmed show I have ever attempted to watch. I can not believe they got a budget of any size for this. the costumes are ok ish but the plot etc is dire. action is shocking. plus you kinda have to believe a plot but, she dosnt look like she could fight out of a wet paper bag
