Remember how SSSS.GRIDMAN had its main characters' color palettes based on Shattered Glass Transformers?

SSSS.DYNAZENON continues the trend with its cast having color palettes seemingly based on Beast Wars characters. The character in the center appears to be based on Stinkbomb while the one in blue hair might be based on Spittor.

Interesting. I kind of expected the original cast to play some sort of role but it looks like we're going in a new direction entirely. I'm assuming the guy in the front is the new main character. He's got an...interesting clothing style and facial expression. Given how Gridman ended, I wonder what the situation for this series is going to be.

I wonder if they'll lean more towards the Japanese incarnation of Beast Wars with its sequels or the American incarnation of Beast Wars with its spinoffs in terms of picking its color references.

Or I guess the common thread is they're all Transmetal 2s?

Yes, this is the main thing that excites me the most about Dynazenon.

Huh, I thought they looked more like the Animated Autobots myself. You've got Bumbles, Bulkhead, Prowl, Fem-Ratchet, and Sari.

I don't know why but the only opinion my brain can muster after seeing the new art is that the edgy looking dude is kind of cute.

We now have a new trailer for Dynazenon.

Until the last second, it looked like a nice slice of life work.

I got my mitts on Gridman's Figma, he's got great articulation :D

His SSSS body is very intricately detailed, but I honestly like the simplicity of his classic look a little more :V

Here's another trailer for the series, expected to arrive on April 2021, along with some new character model sheets.

From the trailer it looks like the dragon has a robot mode now. I can't wait to watch this when it comes out.

I still wonder if Gridman will appear in some capacity. Dynazenon does gets its name from God Zenon and Dyna Dragon, two of Gridman's biggest allies...

In other Gridman news, who wants a toy crossover between Gridman and Takara Tomy's awesome (if obscenely-priced) Diaclone Reboot toyline?

INB 4 Trigger and Hasbro collab and give us SSSS.Transformers

That would unironically be the best thing to happen to Transformers in over a decade, TBH.

About the new Diaclone toy, there is a web story explaining how the crossover happens in universe. The translation for part one of the first chapter can be found here, with translaton for the second part can be found here. There is at least another chapter, but I haven't read it yet.

It came back in 2016 as "Diaclone Reboot" as a series of interchangeable vehicles that you could swap around like crazy. The rub is that they're notoriously expensive.

And soon, we're due for a reimagining of Battle Convoy, the toy that we would know as Optimus Prime!

Watched the first episode.

Much like the first one Dynazenon starts with an intro into the world.

All the dragon related stuff is likely related to the mummy from the original Gridman, whose lover left dragon crests with his body after her family killed him before she committed suicide, and the dragon related items apparently played a part in inspiring the creation of Dyna Dragon’s Cannon. Though whether that means Gauma is a reincarnation of said mummy or not is an unknown at least, but he sure has a lot of bandages on his chest for some reason.
