Oh crap! You beat me to it when it comes to creating the thread...Anyways, yea...Can't wait for this shit to air. And some peeps probably could compare it to Di TF anyway :P
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Watched the Youtube live featuring the main seiyus and director amemiya, yesterday. Just so awesome seeing Hikaru Midorikawa feeling nostalgic when listening to his own voice as the original Gridman. For those who doesn't know, he's reprising his role as Gridman 24 years after the original. Also, the opening will be sung by Ox T, the group most famous for singing the opening for Overlord. The group's singer, Masayoshi Oishi (known for singing the OP for Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun and Tada-kun wa Koi wo Shinai) is also the singer for the OP of the current Ultraman series, Ultraman R/B, which is obviously not a coincident.
I have huge hope that Keiichi Hasegawa will write a much better story than DITF. At least I hope he will write something that is spiritually faithful to the original series, don't want another Gatchaman CROWDS, hate that series.

Well, anything made by Trigger is at least worth keeping an eye on. So far it seems pretty normal, though looking nice.
A-1 isn’t involved, so I already have more confidence. Even if no character is as waifu-tastic as Zero Two.
@taffeaite Let's cross the fingers that it could at least become decent
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."One things for sure, Tsuburaya would definitely not let one of their classic IP get ruined. The fact they actually managed to get one of their veteran writer after he last wrote for Ultraman 5 years ago, get one of their best current designer to design the new Gridman, and even getting the original seiyu of Gridman, means that they probably have a lot of say in this series. Hopefully, they can reign in some of Trigger's worst tendencies.

Interesting...Something you learn everyday :3
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Not only does the first episode drop tonight, the show has been picked up for a fall simuldub by FU Nimation.
Welp!
There's only one way to properly react to this:
Kinda funny how the concept is far more relevant now than it was when the show was made (since everything really is online now).

"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."New chara is named Alexis Kerib, designed by Shigeto Koyama. Seiyu is Tetsu Inada. Seems to be the anime's stand-in for Khandigifer. Staff:
Music - Shiro Sagisu
Sound director - Toshiki Kameyama
Sound effect - Eiko Morikawa (Morikawa was also the sound effect artist of the original Gridman series)
Another veteran coming back, awesome. Really glad Gridman still uses Grid Beam as his finishing move, unlike some other reboot show. Also, even 24 years later Hikaru Midorikawa still sounds awesome

So it looks like Gridman will be fighting in the real world in this. Wasn't expecting that.
One Strip! One Strip! So a more traditional Ultra.
I think the people who were upset about DITF having too much waifu bait at the expense of the plot and action will be quite pleased here.
Creature designers:
- Shinji Nisikawa (veteran godzilla and ultraman designer)
- Hiroshi Maruyama (another Ultraman veteran)
- Ichiro Itano (Veteran gundam animator and ultraman CG director)
- Shu Yamaguchi (veteran toku designer, portfolio includes Silver kamen, Fireman and Ultraman 80)
- Maeda Mahiro (legendary anime designer, animator and director, just look him up on wiki) CG will be handled by Graphinica

Those are some pretty badass monster designs.
Watch SymphogearNot surprising, considering the pedigree of the designers

Ooooo...Seeing that would make me take some dibs in the show btw
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Looking at the key visual, the left one seems to be King Gridman, the right one above seems to be Thunder Gridman, while the one below that is pretty obviously God Zenon. The redesigns looks pretty cool so car, from Gridman himself to the mechas. The monster designs also have some homages to the monsters of the live-action. Really glad that the monster designs are good, the live action had some amazing monster designs so it would be very disappointing if the anime design sucks

I like that it looks like you could wear and puppeteer the monsters.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireSomething in the first episode according to the live blog had people comment on how the monster looked. I wonder if it’s a plot point.
the assist weapon desginer (what they are calling Gridman's weapon and Helper Programs) is Tsuyoshi Nonaka, another Toku veteran, having been involved in metal heroes franchise from Jiban to Kabutaku, Ultraman Tiga, Zyuranger, and Heisei rider from Kuuga to Kabuto. Some of his recent work includes designing monsters for 2017's Ultraman Geed. Man, Tsuburaya sure brought a lot of veterans.

So, where can I find the 2015 (it was 2015 wasn't it?) Gridman Animation?
I figure watching that is a good way to get in gear for this series (even if it's more of a direct sequel than this one is).
I've looked it up on Youtube, but mostly just come across AMV's.
One Strip! One Strip!Mind, it's not really a sequel to the original so much as a music video of the original ending theme, featuring all of Gridman's Helper Programs and combinations, with a Framing Device that's a direct Shout-Out to the cancelled second season of the original toku.
"If you're out here why do I miss you so much?"Wowow anime confirmed this to be 12 episodes: https://twitter.com/wowow_anime/status/1024505030215225344
really hope is a split cour.

The second of three shows from Studio TRIGGER announced at Anime Expo 2017, SSSS.Gridman is a remake of Gridman, known in the US by its adaptation Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad (actual name).
Now while the show is scheduled to hit in Fall 2018, Tsuburaya Productions, the other half of this co-production has announced they will not only premiere the first episode at Anime Expo July 6, 2018, but they will simulcast the episode and panel on YouTube with English subtitles.
