I'd echo that complaint, but I like that Grimmjow's rocking his post timeskip outfit and I kinda like his fighting style in base more.
AFAIK, the "Beyond Resureccion forms are "what if's" made for the mobile game and have no bearing on canon. And given how all of those forms need the Hogyoku, which is canonically bound to Aizen, the chances of them being achieved in the post-series light novels is pretty slim. Would be cool to have Grimm's as an alt though.
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterReally? That's comparable to thinking the Saiyan's base forms are more fun to use. Which now that I think about it, probably wouldn't be all that surprising when it comes to the DBZ community.
Damn it all! I should've known a filthy gacha game would try to capitalize on such an idea. I was under the impression it was from that light-novel "Can't Fear Your World".
Unlike SSJ transformations, Resureccion's change their appearances and movesets drastically. It's more comparable to an Oozaru transformation.
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterThat's true, most of the Resurreccions aren't just makeovers.
Still, I know Chunsoft has experience in animating transformation different models.
Wait...so if they came in contact with Aizen, it would work? Huh....
Oh yeah, I've been thinking about it, but after Jump Force if they make another Shonen Jump crossover game, they're gonna need like 60 characters in total to appease everyone cuz after how much people overhated this game's roster, it's kinda sad honestly.
And they need to move away from the Arena fighter style and go back to either its more Smash Bros inspired platform fighting routes of the DS Games or go full on Traditional 2D fighter.
Watch SymphogearHow different was Jump Ultimate/Super Stars compared to Smash Bros? a 2D fighter isn't a bad idea.
Jump Stars gameplay was similar to Smash, though the movesets were smaller due to the limited button layout. The koma-system did sorta facilitate this by having multiple versions of characters that had different attacks and stats. I do wonder though, if Gambarion were to make a new Jump Stars, would they keep the koma-system? A new game in the series would most likely be on the Switch, which wouldn't have a second screen for the koma panels.
Gavan, Let's get jiggy! So the best bet is to evolve the concepts of Smash, just with more moves, abilities, and balancing them?
I do have a roster idea for the next game but no one's gonna like it.
- Boruto: Sarada, Jigen
- Demon Slayer: Tanjiro & Nezuko
- Black Clover: Asta, Noelle, Licht
- My Hero Academia: Deku, Shigaraki
- Assassination Classroom: Nagisa, Koro Sensei
- Disastrous Life: Saiki K
- Medaka Box: Medaka, Kumagawa
- Toriko: Toriko, Starjun
- Psyren: Ageha
- To Love Ryu: Yami
- Jo Jo: Jolyne, Pucci, Jotaro
- Reborn: Tsuna
- D. Grayman: Allen Walker
- Gintama: Gintoki
- Death Note: Light and Ryuk
- Eyeshield: Hiruma
- Bleach: Ichigo, Aizen, Rukia, Ulquiorra
- Bobobobo: Bobobo, Gasser/Heppokomaru
- Black Cat: Train
- Naruto: Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Madara
- Shaman King: Yoh, Hao
- Hunter x Hunter: Go, Killua, Meruem
- One Piece: Luffy, Kaido
- Yu-Gi-Oh: Yugi, Kaiba, Joey
- Rurouni Kenshin: Kenshin, Makoto
- Yu YU Hakusho: Yusuke, Hiei, Kurama, Mukuro
- Dragon Quest: Dai
- Saint Seiya: Seiya
- Dragon Ball: Goku, Vegeta, Frieza
- Fist of the North Star: Kenshiro
- Dr. Slump: Arale
- Ultimate Muscle: Ultimate Muscle
I guess that's one way of doing it. A hypothetical Jump Stars 3 could utilize the full button layout of the Switch, which in turn could give character fuller movesets. I was also thinking of a system which could replace the koma-system. The roster of playable, assist and support-type characters would be kept, but instead of having to create a manga page, you'd make a set team (3 playable, 2 assist, 3 support). You can switch between your playable characters by pressing the ZL and ZR buttons, while you can summon assists using the L and R buttons. Support characters will work similarly to the Spirits in Smash Ultimate, where you equip one to a playable character to give them some sort of stat boost. Also unlike the previous games, you could go into battle without the need for assists or supports, for those who just want a normal match.
When it comes to characters who have multiple forms or timeskips, I was thinking of a level-up system where if you play with a character enough times, you can unlock future versions of them (IE: Kid Goku > Adult Goku > Super Saiyan Goku > SSB Goku > UI Goku). I have more ideas for such a game, but I'mma need to be more awake to put my thoughts together.

Gavan, Let's get jiggy!I wouldn't mind the next Jump going back to being a platform fighter since I've never really got to experience Jump Superstar. All I care about is having an absurdly large roster which Jump Force failed to do.
Ideally, I rather have the next Jump game be developed by either Cyberconnect 2 or Arcsystem, but that's too much of a pipe dream.
40-51 isn't a small roster by any means. Jump Force now has 52 characters. Jump Ultimate Stars has 56.

That reminds me of a mockup roster I made a short while back.◊
Essentially, almost everyone from J-Stars and Jump Force, plus a handful of other characters. Of course a 90-character roster does seem a bit much, I'm sure Spike would've gotten there had they made a J-Stars sequel instead of starting Jump Force from scratch. Though it would be interesting to see such a roster in a platform fighter like Jump Stars. I feel like a diverse roster would lead to flashier gameplay and combos. Gotta mix up your action with hilarity ya know.
Gavan, Let's get jiggy!Okay, makes sense. But which game did you feel like had better combat, J Stars or Jump Force?
While Jump Force seems to be faster paced, J-Stars felt like it had more variety to me. The stages and characters in J-Stars all felt unique, while the stages and characters of Jump Force feel like a base template with stuff added on to make them seem unique. Like, sure the stage transitions look cool, but having a big open area to brawl in just feels more "anime" to me. To be honest, the only thing holding back J-Stars was it's somewhat slow-paced gameplay and long invincibility frames (even with J-Stars +).
If Bamco is gonna keep Spike for the next crossover, what I want from them is to make the next Jump game play and look more like J-Stars, but with the fast-paced action of Jump Force. Essentially kinda like Tenkaichi, but less monotonous. Also cel-shading, like dammit, they haven't done a cel-shaded game since Raging Blast.
Gavan, Let's get jiggy! So fast paced (Force) but not too broken and have good mechanics...well balanced mechanisms, big stages that are interactive (Stars) and have stage transitions (Force), make every character feel unique in terms of gameplay (Stars), and an anime art style.
Just give Bobobo a better moveset than what he got in J Stars cuz that was disappointing as heck. I'd take Gasser over Don Patch though, he'd be much more hilarious as a fighter.
Yeah, that's pretty much how I'd want the gameplay to be, give or take the stage transitions. Like, Spike's recent arena fighters felt less like Tenkaichi and more like Burning Blood. Nothing wrong with the Burning Blood style, but I feel like a big crossover would warrant big Tenkaichi-like gameplay. J-Stars was almost there, it just needed some oomph.
Gavan, Let's get jiggy!Oh yeah, and J Stars did try to have Team Attacks. I would love to see that come back in some way or form.
Maybe unique team attacks depending on who's on your team. Stuff like the Fist of the Nose Hair: Osiris/Slifer or Gum Gum Kamehameha would be neat.
Gavan, Let's get jiggy!Dope, now I kinda wanna see Naruto and Luffy do a 4 handed Gum Gum Rasenshuriken.
Reminds me of the Ransen-Kamehameha from Jump Super Stars.
Ya know, another idea sorta sprung to my head. If Gambarion doesn't wanna make a 3rd Jump Stars, maybe they could do a crossover via another genre. It'd be neat if they did another RPG like Dragon Ball Fusions but with all of Jump, that way they could have a gigantic roster just like the former. It'd be the perfect way to include characters of all genres (action, gag, romcom, horror, sport, slice-of-life) without putting the effort to create full fighting game movesets. Maybe the main selling point (aside from the large roster) would be having certain characters have special team attacks.
They could probably even borrow the combined world aspect from Fusions for the various locations. Morioh/Namek, Enies Lobby/UA, Otose Snack/Hueco Mundo, Kameari Park/Athena's Temple, Penguin Village/Tenraikyousintojo and so on. Imagine exploring the combined Jump worlds and actually seeing some fun character interactions.
Gavan, Let's get jiggy! It would be nice to see some more crossover game that isn't a fighting game for once.
So that happened.
In other news, Law & Grimmjow are a thing.
Not entirely sure why they didn't just let you play Grimmjow in Resurreccion form. Pretty damn disappointing.
Although I'm more disappointed that his Segunda Etapa isn't used at all, but I don't know if that's even canon.
