i totally legally downloaded the game to try it out and... it wasn't even worth the time i spent on it.

seems like it could be pretty fun to play with friends, but only super casually. otherwise the game pretty clearly becomes "zone and spam supers to win". And there's also a really easy infinite between a couple of the characters.

as-is the story is terrible, the models are... not great, the motions are stiff, the cac options are terribly lacking... it's just not. good.

but if Lala from To Love Ru makes an appearance as DLC it becomes an insta-buy from me.

It’s pretty funny how despite being a game made to celebrate the magazines 50 years of history it turned out to be a mediocre wash that doesn’t even do that well.

You think the dev-team would have learned from their mistakes from J-Stars & Burning Blood but nope.

I haven't played it but from what I've seen I think the biggest issue with it is that they tried really really hard to appeal to the western superhero movie crowd for whatever reason.

This song needs more love.

They wanted the game to sell in the west, I'm guessing.

... But opted not to dub it, so I'm not entirely sure what they were expecting.

Considering the game isn’t even voiced 90% of the time, they prolly figured it wasn’t worth it.

Even then I’ve been hearing that “selling to the West” reasoning a good deal & I never see it turn out well.

Well crazy thing is, not all of Jump is own by one company

How exactly does that relate to any of the game's issues?

Because I think that mindset is what lead to the "realistic" graphical style and lowkey storytelling.

You talk like as if the standard Jump crossover story was any better. It was still standard story telling, just more disappointing than the average one.

Really this game reeks of mismanagement & other development issues.

The reasoning for the realistic art-style is just one of its issues.

Cyber Connect 2 should have developed it, though them developing the new gorgeous DBZ ARPG is a good substitute.

the people at CC 2 literally have over 1000 volumes of manga and anime at their branches, and watch weekly anime every day for references.

They would have been prefect for a Jump Crossover and would have given it a truly epic storyline for its single player.

But alas.

Regardless of anything else, this of all games was never going to be dubbed. Too much talent from too many places would have to be included, and there are various laws that prevent said actors from reprising their roles for this game.

Apparently the DLC Characters have been datamine leaked.

Spoiler-tagging this in case this is real and people don't want to be spoiled; Allegedly they are Seto Kaiba, All Might, Katsuki Bakugou, Madara Uchiha, Trafalgar Law, Toshiro Hitsugaya, Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, Kenpachi Zaraki, Byakuya Kuchiki, Buu, and Biscuit Krueger.

The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.

All Might, Bakugo, Madara, and maybe Buu should've been in the base game.

I can't decide what's worse: four Bleach characters or Bakugou. Biscuit and Kaiba sound interesting though.

Oh God if true then its more One Piece & Dragon Ball characters.

Like I'm suddenly finding myself wanting Tsuna from Hitman Reborn despite never having seen the show because at least its different.

Like Bakugo's one of the most popular & well-known characters from the show. Its logical to put him in plus his gameplay would be pretty dope.

I still really want Chitoge, Korosensei and even Dakki in the game. Kumagawa and Medaka are also nice but yeah

What an incredibly questionable choices.

Kaiba, Madara, & All Might should've been there to begin with, I guess better late than never.

I'm not really sure how I feel about Law but I always knew that One Piece was going to get more characters anyways. I like Kid Buu but there were better choices. Choices that would've just piss people anyways, but I personally wouldn't have prioritize Buu over Gohan.

Biscuit over the likes of Mereum? Even if the roster is severely lacking in the female ratio, picking Biscuit over Meruem is just stupid.

Bleach is one of my manga but Christ there's going to be 8 Bleach characters? Bleach is going to have more characters than Naruto, One Piece, & DBZ. That's incredibly hard to believe. I would've pick Nell over Toshiro but I'm just being bias. Although, Renji really didn't have to be in the game.

Urgh Bakugou. He was inevitable, but damn it all.

Half of the characters should've been in the game already including Bakugou (urgh), but it still a solid choices overall. I'm still confuse what's going with Byakuya & Zaraki. I'm wondering why some of the J-Star characters aren't back & why they don't want use more Jojo characters.

I actually consider adding more characters from franchises already covered to help with character diversity rather than detract from it, since all the protagonists are basically just Goku with a different series-specific gimmick.
