We've just pushed a large overhaul public. Please report complaints, comments and concerns here. When reporting bugs, please make sure you include which browser(s) and platform(s) you have encountered the issue with.
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
- Why did we do this? This update has been in development for over a year. It replaces a vast amount of messy code on the back-end, gives us a new modernized design, updates us to https, and creates a platform that we can more easily build on for future updates.
- Can we go back to the old design? This isn't happening. We'll make the new one work.
- Why are there so many bugs? As with any major overhaul, some problems will occur. The developers are working full-time on fixing stuff.

Or you could use something other than Word to do offline editing. I use Notepad++. We can't possibly account for all of that.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Goin' through this thread to report some more bugs. Stopped on this post
. Some comments:
- ~Merseyuser1: That sounds more like an issue with the styles...
- ~Midna, that needs some clarification.
- ~Sci Fi Slasher, do you still have that threads-in-Google-search problem?
- Title search function ... um it looks like ~Fighteer merged the task for it into a different task about the thread search in general.
- TearJerker.Happy Feet was a pagetype issue which I've resolved myself.
@SeptimusHeap: Sometimes the site logo on the left side of the header loads normally as it should, and sometimes it doesn't. There doesn't seem to be any particular cause for it, it just happens sometimes. Not a critical error, but it's still annoying.
Still using Windows 10 with Firefox 61.0.1.

pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDSIt went back to normal about a day after I brought it up, and it was still running smoothly when I first got onto the site today, but when I came back several hours later this afternoon, it was back to loading really slowly for Media pages and saying "sorry this discussion id does not exist" for threads accessed through Google.
"Somehow the hated have to walk a tightrope, while those who hate do not."I wanted to add a post to the Star Trek thread.
It's not on my followed thread list. I found the thread manually, without the search function which is still broken, and it says I'm already following the thread.
Also, when I go to live blogs, there aren't breaks between paragraphs, they just continue onto the next line making it hard to read.

Hiya there, Minni from planet Chrome, galaxy Windows 8.
A couple of bugs I've found is that it's hard to click on a note in the spoiler, as doing that re-hides the spoiler (unless you click/tap on it three times) and the other one I've noticed is how the edit lock timer doesn't tick down like it normally does.
Thanks again for your time.
I'm fairly sure this has been mentioned, but it's been a while. Line breaks in folders containing large amounts of text do not leave space between paragraphs. Compare No Cure for the Paladin Blues (screenshot
) to its source code
. Firefox on OS X.
Edit: Same behavior in Safari on iOS.

When I tried to post on Magnificent Bastard clean up thread, my early draft text is still there even when I already posted it and now creating a new post at a later point.
In other words, this editing box needs to clear out old saved drafts.
@Redmess
Now that you mention it, I also missed the Daily Progress Reports from the Mods. They give us the assurance that things are going smoothly and that bug-fixing is making a progress.
Which reminds me of another thing - It's almost a month now after the 1.8 overhaul went live...
With Great Power, Comes Great Motivation
Seconded.
What's the status on fixing crowners? Is there a workaround for the "can't hook a crowner or view hooked crowners" bug? This really affects the functionality of Image Pickin' and the Trope Repair Shop.
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"Just clicked onto another page and the logo disappeared. Clicked to add a post to this thread and it's back. It seems like it really is completely random as to where and when it'll happen.

Bug report: I tried to change my vote on a crowner (linked from a TLP draft, not hooked to a thread). When I did, I got an "Insecure connection" warning from my browser, which I ignored. This tries to send me to https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/crown_vote_change.php , which doesn't load. Instead, I get an error with the following text:
An error occurred during a connection to tvtropes.org.
- This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.
Firefox 61.0.1 on Mac OS 10.11.6. I do allow cookies, although I have Do Not Track enabled as well as Privacy Badger, an anti-tracking extension that blocks some cookies. However, I still get the error even if I disable Privacy Badger on the crowner page.
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"Hi, folks. Working on getting some progress reports. The devs have taken some time to fix background mod tools that we very much needed.
They have also been working on issues that have been more complex in identifying and fixing, such as the straggling page locks.
Progress is still being made, but it's a bit less showy.
I have posted about this several times but this hasn't been added either to the official bug list or Discar's list, presumably because Fighteer couldn't replicate it and it was assumed to be a problem on my end: backslashes next to quotes in discussion posts.
Reporting this an a discussion post not made by me:Larkmarn's discussion post here
is full of the \" and \' artifacts. Can others see this? Not sure what their computer setup is but I am on the latest Firefox on Mac El Capitan. I also see the artifacts on Safari.
The problem seems to apply only to new threads. It has been reported, but doesn't seem to be on the priority fix list.
Edit: Although Larkmarm's topic there shows it in both the OP and reply. I'm baffled honestly.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"

Threads are cut off when logged-in (reading them), have to switch to disable styles in Firefox.
Example: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=15238831050A92340600
When not logged-in, no issue.
