We've just pushed a large overhaul public. Please report complaints, comments and concerns here. When reporting bugs, please make sure you include which browser(s) and platform(s) you have encountered the issue with.
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
- Why did we do this? This update has been in development for over a year. It replaces a vast amount of messy code on the back-end, gives us a new modernized design, updates us to https, and creates a platform that we can more easily build on for future updates.
- Can we go back to the old design? This isn't happening. We'll make the new one work.
- Why are there so many bugs? As with any major overhaul, some problems will occur. The developers are working full-time on fixing stuff.

I still can't get the sidebar to stay on the left, it keeps resetting every time I leave my profile.
Browser is Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 10.
Forth level and beyond bullet points are still displaying as indented more. You can see it in Sandbox.homogenized. The source displays the forth and fifth bullets with three asterisks though. It looks like that on Chrome for Android, and both Firefox and IE for Windows.

Found a new display issue: Commented-out notes leave a space on the page. See here, between Every Episode Ending and Evil Is Petty (source for comparison).
I've found a new bug. (Using a 2017 laptop with Windows 10 as the operating system and Microsoft Edge as the browser, but this issue probably isn't exclusive to my device.)
Go to VideoGame.Super Smash Bros For Nintendo 3 DS Wii U. You'll see there's a namespace button for "Sandbox".
But then go to Sandbox.Super Smash Bros For Nintendo 3 DS Wii U. It's a cut page.
But then go to its related page. You'll see there's one redirect to it called Sandbox.Super Smash Bros For Nintendo 3 DS And Wii U.
Then it hit me. I've realised that if there's a redirect to a cut page, the namespace button will stay. Why? Because if you go to VideoGame.Super Smash Bros Brawl, you don't see a Sandbox namespace button. There are no redirects to Sandbox.Super Smash Bros Brawl, which is also a cut page, see its related page. It's a minor bug, but I do hope it gets fixed.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)- I wonder what happens if you send that redirect somewhere else. Or remove the redirect altogether...
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576This page is still locked. Just thought I'd throw that in there.
If the lock is erroneous you can right-click "edit" and open in a new tab.
My issue wasn't noted in the last summary so I'll post a link to that comment: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=15300421760A59211300&page=101#comment-2510
Another troper also noted that the edit timestamp appears to be hardcoded to the poster's time zone, not the viewer's. For instance, this post below mine states it was posted at 2:36 PM and edited at 5:40 AM (should probably be 2:40 PM my time).
All these issues appear on:
- Windows 10 Enterprise
- Firefox 61.0.1 64-bit
- Chrome 67.0.3396.99 64-bit
- Android 8.0.0 (HTC U11)
- Firefox 61.0
- Chrome 67.0.3396.87

Thank you.
Another thing I should mention? The character pages are also bunched together, even when there's a clear space between paragraphs. A good example is, again, the Smash Bros. pages. Here's Link's description on the Smash 64 characters page as an example.
(The hero of The Legend of Zelda series, Link is one of many incarnations of the spirit of the hero, and the chosen champion of the Golden Goddesses. Throughout his many reincarnations, he manages to grow from an ordinary boy to a legendary warrior and defeat the ultimate evil plaguing his world.
The original Smash and Melee use the design of the legendary Hero of Time from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Brawl and 3DS/Wii U base him on the shape-shifting ranch hand from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Ultimate uses the Hylian Champion from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.)
When viewed like this, it looks okay. But on the character page itself, it's bunched together like a textbook. Do all of the pages have this issue? Is there anything I can do next time I see it?

Visual issue on Safari (iPhone 6): the date and timestamps on Ask The Tropers posts cover the titles of the queries and makes a good chunk of them unreadable.
ETA: Trope Finder and You Know That Show have the same issue.

So as far as I can tell, the site seems to think I have "lefthand sidebar" enabled (when I don't); trying to actually turn "off" lefthand sidebar activates it, while also turning the bar grey, and none of these options carry over to other pages, meaning that I can't actually activate lefthand sidebar because of where it's located.
I've tried this on both Chrome and Internet Explorer.
How constructive
New theme music also a box^^ Thanks for the feedback. I'm sure they'll appreciate it.
Current Project: The Teamwhy does the sidebar menu with Reviews, Trope Finder, etc. disappear with the mobile/split screen view?
Also, it's impossible to write a review in mobile mode. I have to view everything in desktop mode on my phone because the "add review" button just disappears completely.
On a history page, the pencil icon on the Edit button doesn't change to a lock, but if you click it a popup claiming the page is under edit lock with the editor's name is shown as on the old site.
Meanwhile, on the main page of a work/trope the lock icon will be present, but not the popup.
Can we have it both ways on both main page and history? Lock icon with the popup?

The ability to holler our own posts seems back. Thanks.
This actually reminds me that we need the Holler RP Mod option back in the Roleplay sections.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.I don't know if this is an error or not, but the logo in the top-left corner of the page isn't loading anymore.
pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDSI usually don't make posts like this but I'm sorry this needs to be addressed.
you know there's a problem when the tiny icons are blocking the words◊.
Again, sorry, but there's not really any need to have those icons there, especially when the tropes' not being used as 'trope examples'. It's distracting and, as the above example shows, kinda counterproductive. I know it's a little thing, but still.
I'm not sure if this happens all the time (probably not but it's still an issue) but I just wanted to point that out.
Okay, cool, looks like the custom display is back (e.g. Twenty Four now shows up as 24).
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsI'm not sure if this has been mentioned already (sorry, those are a lot of pages to go through), but comments seem to create unwarranted line breaks, such as on this page.
I've seen the progress post, yet I couldn't find anything regarding the TLP History...
Also, yay, the paragraph spaces are back!!!
Using Windows 10, Firefox Quantum.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
Discar, might it help if you split the list into "fixed" and "issues" folders? At the moment it's kind of hard to navigate for things still needing fixes.
Thanks for doing this, by the way!
