BUPKIS in IP stands for Blank Until Pretty Kickass Image Suggested, but it's Fun with Acronyms. The word bupkis is a synonym for the word nothing.

regulation pigeonSo am I the only one not buying that this Kang is dead?
Either way the movie was fine. Cassie and Kang were the highlights to me.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadLike I said, my guess is that he's also Victor Timely in Loki. Could be wrong, but I'm def sure this Kang survived.
After all, Kang will return.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Honestly, it never occured to me that having Kang defeated in this movie might undermine his threat level for future movies. Before I read this thread, I didn#t even think about that.
It still doesn't bother me. For one, you have all the multiverse Kangs and also he could find a way to rebuild even bigger. Threat is not just how strong you can punch, but the resources you have available.
Thanos for example, while imposing on his own, would not have nearly been such a threat level without the stones.
You lost!So I went to watch this movie after having carefully avoided trailers and any discussions about it to avoid spoilers. I only quickly checked the reviews before going to the theatre, and discovered that everybody seemed to hate it. Then I watched and... liked it? To the point I have no idea this time why people seem so riled up against this movie. I mean, I can understand a lot of the criticisms against Thor: Love and Thunder or The Eternals, but I really can't see what's wrong with this one. Sure, it is significantly Darker and Edgier than the previous Ant-Man movies, but given that I consider Ant-Man and the Wasp more of a comedy, this was not very hard to achieve. Also, it seems Marvel is now unable to write a movie or series without some multiversal threat (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever notwithstanding), but since this this is the theme of the current phases, this can hardly be held against them.
So I'm really curious to know what people did not like about this film. The critics I have read only give vague reasons such as "it's boring" or "it's ugly", which I simply don't agree with. I know I don't always agree with critics but at least most of the time I can understand their reasons, even if I don't share them. The one criticism I'd agree with is that They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character with MODOK, but, hey, multiverse, so maybe it's not the last time we've seen this character.
Whatever your favourite work is, there is a Vocal Minority that considers it the Worst. Whatever. Ever!.One criticism that I can definitely sympathise with is that the film struggles a bit to get the right balance of light hearted Ant-Man adventure and also deadly serious Big Stakes MCU stuff.
I like Ant-Man exactly because it was always a bit lighter and smaller stakes than most, plus Scott himself is notable for being a goofy but nice dude and never really becomes a more typical action hero even after all his adventures. So him going up against Kang, the Biggest and most dangerous of Bads, played entirely seriously (but very well performed) feels... jarring.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."
The same could be said of Spiderman, although I agree the difference is less jarring as the transition was a bit more gradual. Then again, I rather like the fact that Endgame really had an impact on most heroes. You can't really be the same guy after finding yourself in the middle of a war against an alien army.

Whatever your favourite work is, there is a Vocal Minority that considers it the Worst. Whatever. Ever!.The movie definitely has some flaws. The biggest is the pacing in the beginning, especially the introduction of the freedom fighters which feels very rushed. Once Kang shows up though, I think the pacing issues disappear. Another is the Ass Pull of the ant cavalry overrunning Kang, although I personally had no problem with that.
The biggest problem I think is that people are getting sick of Marvel and Quantumania wasn't a 10/10, which is inflating the negative reactions. Five years ago, this movie would've scored very well.

regulation pigeonPlus all those " MCU IS DEAD " doomsayers will get more attention and clicks with that kind of criticisms.
Even Honest Trailers are getting more blatantly negative against the MCU. I just know the upcoming trailer will be brutal against this one.
Franchise fatigue is setting in.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"
I don't know what you mean by "right" in this context, but even if both inclusiveness and unprofitability come to the MCU, that still would not be a causal relation.
Never trust or rely on reviews. You'll miss a lot of good movies that way.
My add-on take is that early MCU entries were graded on a “wow, this cinematic universe thing is so fresh and cool” curve resulting in scores that were somewhat too high, but the charm has for sure worn off this phase resulting in a sharper-seeming critical downturn. There were definitely mid movies early on that were protected by the novelty of it all — But I think eg. Eternals is a better movie than Thor 2.

Still remembering Midnight's edge's video on MOM ehh?
Trust me, those assholes are just not worth thinking about. You've seen how going down the alt-right rabbit hole make Midnight's edge unenjoyable.
But honestly, if the movies are getting bad, it won't be because of minorities or women being more prominent, but Disney's handling of the franchise.
Go woke go broke is just an intentional misreading of how Disney handles to fit that crowd's bias.
Because there will be all sorts of people who will click videos that "own the libs."

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I wonder if when they introduce the council of Kangs that someone should explain the full threat of said council so that the casual viewer can understand the full implication of them.
Unnamed Person (but let's call him Bob)-You don't get it even if we beat them here and now, they will just keep coming back. The very existence of the multiverse, of time and space, leads to their rebirth. All it will take is one, One! Nathaniel Richards with a lust for power to lead to a hundred variants of Kang. Not that the fact matter, across infinite Timelines the Kangs have crushed an infinite number of heroic teams greater. I have seen it. So fight and lose because there is no scenario where the war is won and peace in our time. Still, if you prove me wrong, amazing.
Sincerely S Awatching.I wonder if Corey Stoll was ever on-set for this movie, or if they just filmed his face while he was in the recording booth.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."

I think people are just trying to read Rick and Morty problems into this because it shares a writer, tbh.
I heard a ton of generic "it's just like Rick & Morty!" doomsaying before going to see the film, and was mildly irritated when I then actually watched the movie and found that it was mostly a bunch of bupkiss.
