[up] Yeah, he appears there, but only in a few scenes.

I need to know where they got the really detailed info in the Complete Monster section from.

In case it's needed, miHoYo has just recently posted their official translation on their Mangadex page. The english title of the volume is Elan Palatinus and starts here

[up]Most of the info in the entry fits, although slightly out of order (He seems to have only begun ordering human experimentation after finding the Black Box).

Invasion of the Ming Dynasty out of ambition is in Chapter 0

Overtaxing the populace to cover the loss is in Chapter 1

Revelation that the overseer is ordering human experimentation using the Box containing the 12th Herrscher and turning them to monsters is in Chapter 7

The Overseer's motive rant is in Chapter 8, specifically this page

His final appearance is in Chapter 10 when he finally unlocks the box

The Black Plague being caused by the box isn't mentioned in this volume, but implied in Chapter 8 of the St, Freya High volume (It's mentioned the the Plague was a sentient Honkai)

Any of you guys wanna come to the CM thread and help out? We're cutting the other CM entry, so we might as well make sure Overseer's entry is right while we're at it.

But just to clarify, he doesn't appear at all in the games? If true, I'll just request cutting the entire CM thing at the games page.

We don't have a work page on supplementary comics, so anything that is Honkai Impact 3rd related is on the Video Game pages.

Yeah, mind helping with Overseer's entry?

EDIT: So:

  • Complete Monster: The Great Overseer of Schicksal is the first leader of Schicksal Organization and the father of Otto Apocalypse. Initially presented as a benevolent figure helping several European princes create a feudal order and stop the Honkai in order to take back the lost lands that the latter conquered, the Overseer reveals his true power-hungry nature by performing experiments on innocent civilians to turn them into zombies or monsters and kickstarting a war with the Ming Empire. Losing the war, the Overseer extorts the money from poor civilians and allows his priests and aristocrats to abuse the population as they please, and later attempts again to start a war with the Ming Empire again.

So what would that make Anti-Entropy? tongue

Incidentally, geez, Anti-Entropy really can't catch a break, can they? Their plans keep on getting foiled when they're the villains, while their bases keep getting attacked when they're the heroes.

After seeing the comic, I honestly don't think Otto's father really is a Complete Monster. Not because he's anything close to "good" but because he didn't do much heinous things to begin with.

Just my opinion though, if anyone else think that he is then I won't dispute it.

I could see it either way. Started Schicksal's tradition of human experimentation for the sake of revenge against the Ming Dynasty and proving to everyone that they're the only solution against the Honkai. Ordering the clergy to take advantage of the black plague and kidnap poor children to further said experimentation. Forcing other members of Schicksal to perform the experiments or else. Overtaxing.

Personally, I think he just about meets the borderline for heinousness, especially since compared to the other villains, he didn't have super science or Honkai powers.

I downloaded the 3.5 update this morning and so far I'm pretty impressed with the revamps to the dorm system. I also really like how they've star-tiered the Valkyries' rank-ups so it doesn't feel quite so herculean a task to get fragments.

Loving the changes they've made. All Valks now have the same dorm/base upgrades, instead of you only being able to fully upgrade specific ones. Makes it more appealing for people to try out other Valks

And Dorm Supply is like a more collector friendly Standard Supply, making it easier to get the older S-Rank Valks you're still missing (Guaranteed S Rank drop on first 25, Guaranteed S Rank drop for subsequent 100, Increased drop rate for missing S Rank, Drops are carried over like Expansion Supply). Combined with the new rank up system making you still feel progress even if you get a duplicate, they're making it really tempting to spend more crystals to get more Valks tongue

Question about the Shout Out page - I added the Macarena reference from St. Freya's Fiesta, but I noticed that it's in the gameplay section...I don't think I've ever seen a way to get the chibis to do this in the dorms, was this something that used to be in the game but was disabled?

So I decided to re-install HI3 because I saw this video of Seele:

We have another death/butterly motif, scythe-wielding anime waifu here? These tropes are the ones I mostly look for in my favorite female anime/gacha characters. Seele has bonus points for being:

  • Younger than Rita?
  • Her outfits make her hotter than Rita.
  • Two waifus for the price of one. I also love Dark Seele's smugness here.

I think I have a new main in this game now. Thirsty comments aside, I'm still on the 4th story chapter as I have uninstalled this game for months due to lacking enough phone storage. I am glad that Mihoyo finally did something to reduce the update size in the app stores, as well as splitting the in-game download size. It's a nice change for people like me with capped bandwidth. Lastly, from my experience, the in-game download no longer resets to 0% or from scratch after a connection failure, which is also another QoL change if you ask me. I hope this stays in the future contents

But I still have some more questions or some things needing clarification regarding Seele:

  • She's currently the only Valkyrie with a unique, purple type? This means that she currently is a big deal when it comes to the Tactical Rock–Paper–Scissors mechanics, right? I mean, no other Valk Battlesuit counters her, and she doesn't have to worry about the other enemies' types. I'm using her now to breeze through most of the contents.
  • Her Victory Pose in her Swallowtail Phantasm shows her with the red eyes of her Dark persona after a 360-degree turn. Is this her only Victory Pose, doesn't her normal self have one?
  • I placed Seele in the Bridge but she isn't responding to (or doesn't have animations) when I tap her "sensitive parts" if you know what I mean... The other Valks still have it, so why doesn't it apply to Seele?

[up]

Who are the other "scythe butterfly waifu" you think of?

Yes, younger than Rita. I think Rita's still hotter tho

Yes, the exclusive Quantum-type for Seele. Yes, playing Q-singularis with both Seeles (and trusty Yamabuki Armor) is so much fun. evil grin

As Swallowtail Phantasm, that indeed has been her Victory Pose since the start: her turning into her "dark self".

All valkyries released since HOV can't have their bodies touched. Yeah, since the game becomes more popular, China's ridiculous censorship caught up to them.

[up] Yes it was, and the earlier valks have it. At least in SEA version you can still touch older valks' bodies on the bridge (I heard you can't do it in Global?)

[up] Correct; I play on Global and have never been able to touch the Valkyries.

Gotta say, after getting HoR, her signature weapon, and two of the Welt stigs pretty quickly when she first dropped, not having drawn Stygian Nymph yet is frustrating...although I've pulled enough cards to get regular Seele to SSS and am only ~5K XP away from level 80.

Anybody know where the gag of "Higokumaru getting roasted" starts? A lot of events allude to it.

From what I remember, the first time miHoYo used it was in the Odd Drifter event, which had a puzzle where you roasted several Hegotchumarus with bombs.

Between the Higo barbecues and Ai-chan being treated as an actual cabbage, someone in the event writing team seems to have a thing for cooking our Open World helpers

I'm sure it (Higo being roasted) is a thing before Odd Drifter. One strip of the "unofficial" 4koma shows it (forgot which one though).
