The King OF Fighters: Revolution Interest Check and Worldbuilding

Hello all!

What is this? Well, this is the interest check for a new roleplay I want to get off the ground, based off of SNK's fighting game series The King of Fighters! If you don't know what it is, I suggest you at least check out the page for it here on TV Tropes, or not, whatever.

This RP will take place after the most recent game in the series, King Of Fighters XIV. You will play as Original Characters or Guest Fighters (Ask me before you do so, and try to keep this to a low number. I don't want this thing flooded with guests.) and team up in teams of three, whether it's with characters you make, characters others make, or NPCs. You will be allowed to make up to three characters, but unless you have permission, they must be in the same team. If you want to play as a canon character, run it by me first, and you should be allowed as long as you play them mostly in character.

The entity known as Verse has just released all of the souls from its body, including Orochi, Igniz, and Ash, among others. One of these souls is Gaidel, the true father of Leona Heidern.

The legendary criminal Xanadu had escaped prison to fight in the fourteenth KOF Tournament and is currently on the run with his somewhat reluctant teammates, Choi Bounge and Chang Koehan. They have been stated to be returning to Xanadu's Church Of [[DATA NOT FOUND]], which holds a disturbing secret...

There are also multiple former agents of NESTS running around, and other people, all with their own agenda. Among them is Geese Howard, criminal mastermind and powerful fighter, whose motives are currently unknown, and Ron, a rogue member of the Hizoku Clan currently searching for the holders of the Dragon Spirit, Sie Kensou and Bao.

Orochi's presence has also got the blood of certain fighters boiling, and possibly even expunged some of his more loyal servants, although their allegiance is currently dubious...

All of this is happening on the cusp of a new tournament, and it has oddly brought in much more newcomers than expected, as well as many familiar faces, so much to where the entire scope of it has been largely expanded by Antonov, an extremely rich fighter and self-proclaimed first champion of the tournaments. He is assisted by Chizuru Kagura, who has put some of her knowledge and funds into this overhaul of the tournament, and they have also received a sizable amount from a mysterious donator going by the handle "Blacknoah"...

And so, the fighters you all know and love, and many more new ones, approach locations all over the world to battle it out in the familiar teams of three, whether to investigate the tournament, unseal Orochi, go back home, or just for the love of the fight. This is the time for the battle of the ages! This is the time for KOF's best to come together once more! This is the Revolution!

I might have gone a bit overboard on plot stuff there, but I still need help in terms of world building. Have any locations you would like to see? Characters you would love to see come back? Any guest characters (within reason, and not too many here) you would like to see in the tournaments? Anything else come to mind? This is the place to suggest it! (at least for now)

Once I have enough people, probably around 4 or 5 minimum, I will release a signup thread proper with sheets and all that jazz.

I don't know what the game is, but I would be interested in joining using an OC. This sounds like it will be a crazy adventure already!

Sounds interesting, gotta say. Let's see how it goes.

Not too educated on the King of Fighters, but I'll make sure to educate myself. So yeah, I'm interested.
