I wouldn't say this is better than That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, so much as they're both better at different things. Slime has better world building but I like the characters in Spider more. Mind you I don't intend to continue reading Slime's novels because the first one was too slow for me but I love Spider's novels. I haven't read the manga myself but what few panels I've seen people post look nice. The novels, however, are excellent as they don't just focus on the main character but her classmates as well, whereas I hear the manga only focuses on the main character. That honestly sounds like a step down as while the main character's plotline is fine seeing what her classmates are up to, as well as characters native to the setting, helps to flesh out the universe.
The switches in perspective often come with added world-building that often ties into the main character's story. Like why everything seems to have it out for the main character.
I understand that the manga adaptation releases monthly, so it's kind of a problem to switch perspectives since people are going to get mad if you leave off at a good part to switch to someone chilling out elsewhere for a couple months. The same problem would resurface in the hypothetical anime adaptation, except that that has the added problems of being rather confusing if not handled well and a very tight schedule due to a limited episode count.
Anyway, read the LN if you can find it. If you're wary about spending money on this before you're certain of its quality, check out the translated WN first. Though be warned that many of the earlier chapters were machine translated, so the quality is a little lacking for that one particular guy's translations.

Welp... I do sometimes really like to read some books with an illustration so that I could know whats going on. So we're almost even
Though have to admit that I would love to see the source for both LN and Manga and seems that this could be my type for LN like Tensei even if Isekai genre is pretty much overused at this point.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Are we not moving over to the first thread, then? Oh well.
Anyway, I started with the manga and I find it a lot easier to get into than the light novel, to be honest... though I'm worried that I'll have trouble adapting to the LN if I just hop in from the middle of volume 3. Has anyone here done a manga-to-LN transfer before?
It's been fun.Hopefully it's not against the rules to mention translator names here.
turbo did MTL + minor editing, so grammar and choice of vocab is a little iffy.
blastron did a proper translation so it's a lot better, but they've dropped it way before the point where RTD picked off, so you will have to switch over to turbo at some point.
The translation really did get way better all of a sudden when RTD took over.
In the middle of Shiro negotiating with Dustin. His overestimation of her intelligence and mental abilities reminds me greatly of Overlord, but it makes more sense given that Shiro is genuinely intelligent and knowledgeable. Just a bad character reading of our dumb little spider girl.
Finally got to the backstory arc. This was the great sin of humanity? Yeah no, they did nothing wrong. This is Sariel's fault. And the dragons too, of course.

All caught up. It's amazing how completely unlikable your standard isekai hero can be from another perspective. Especially since he's pretty much guaranteed to win and get his golden everyone wins ending, likely at the expense of characters the reader is more attached to.
Well, it's not like the protagonist is very sympathetic either. She's just more entertaining and feels less like a spoiled brat.
Okay, so, I know I'm triple posting but I found an interesting video that really explains why Shun is so frustrating to me and it involves a more clever piece of writing than I really expected from the writer of a random web novel. It does a good job of making me realize why I liked this series so much more than, say, Overlord, which I only really grudgingly tolerate.
Here's the video if anyone wants to watch it.
It's not like she really said anything I didn't already know but she helped point into words the real central conflict and what that means on an emotional level. Shun is from a normal moral standpoint completely right but in regards to actually helping the situation he's objectively wrong and it's clear from the start that nothing is going to be able to really change his mind even once he hits the point of knowing the fundamental problem of the world.

Okay, so in the Tensei Shittara forum... I got a posts about this light novel and people seems like this LN because it also has the same premise as Tensei but done a bit better I guess. So as a result, why not create a thread dedicated to it instead even if the anime hasnt been released and frankly I havent read the Light Novels or the mangas yet. But I hope that I will get to that soon and hopefully this LN could at least get an anime adaptation. Btw, if you dont know what the Light Novel is all about...Here's the basic plot for it from NovelUpdates
"The world where the Hero and the Demon King continue to oppose each other. The grand magic from the Hero and the Demon King cross over worlds and exploded in the classroom of a certain high school. The students who died in the explosion will be reincarnated in a different world. The protagonist, who had the lowest reputation in the class, was reincarnated into a spider. Nevertheless, she adapted quickly to the present condition with strong willpower. This is a story of she who has become a spider trying whatever she can to live."
This thread is dedicated to discuss the LN or manga adaptation or (Hopefully) the anime adaptation. Even if I havent read those yet. Hopefully you can lend me some knowledge regarding the series
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."
