It's been announced that John Green's debut novel (and one of my favorite books), the ever-popular yet ever-controversial Looking for Alaska, is finally going to see the screen... as a Hulu series. This is coming after over a decade of development Hell and several false starts for a film version. I'm glad to see Green himself is on board, as the last attempt at a film version was scuttled by tensions between him and Paramount (they own the rights to only this book; Fox owns the others). Obviously I'm pretty happy to see this.

Wonder who they'll get to play the title character; obviously the story sort of lives and dies (Gallows Humor not intended) on her. I've felt for a while now that Ariel Winter from Modern Family would be at least a good physical match, as she's short, curvy, and has mahogany hair, all of which Alaska is described as in the book.

Also wonder if they'll keep the blowjob scene. Probably more likely than if it was a movie at least; no way they were keeping that and getting a PG-13.
