Fallout: 76 - Take Me Home, Country Roads

He is!? Where'd that come up?

In addition to some old blog posts from back when he was a hugely popular WoW Machinima creator - in which he derides gays and pornography while spouting fundamentalist Christian dogma (ironic considering he accidentally revealed in a since-deleted video that he uses big boob nude mods) - he supposedly had a Freudian Slip in one of his Fallout 4 “morality” videos where he lumped homosexuality into the same category as bestiality and pedophillia.

There’s also some other drama related to him recording a woman without her permission while making fat-shaming jokes (hypocritical considering... well, just look at him on camera), but that’s straying even more dangerously off-topic.

Overall not the kind of guy you want to be giving a shoutout to, from what I’ve gathered.

Well, there's another one i'm adding to the list.

Must be fairly recent because the only negative thing a quick Google search turned up about the guy was this reddit post about his content, and whether or not he shills Betheseda too much.

Even if true, I don't support any Youtubers financially, and truth be told I don't really care who he is or about his content enough to actively avoid him. A reference to him in 76 doesn't really affect me either.

I'm only mildly surprised because, yeah, he does a lot of Fallout videos and I glimpse them once in awhile to experience the DLC's I'll never buy or play.

Part of the reason it's not as widespread is because he apparently abuses DMCA strikes and other report features to get any evidence or callouts deleted and has been doing his damnedest to scrub his old stuff from the internet since the first accusations. Here's the post that brought all of it to my attention.

I heard about Oxhorn yesterday. I wasn't really what you'd call a fan, but I did like the few videos of his I watched. Oh well, at least another scumbag was exposed.

Yeah i've had a reoccurring issue of finding YouTubers I liked at first only to find out who they really are, examples include LS Mark who I watched for his movie videos and his criticism of Butch Hartman till I noticed his habit of verbally attacking and insulting other YouTubers, Arch Warhammer for his Warhammer/40k lore videos and Yahtzee-esqe snark and wordplay only to find out about his racism and pro-fascist views and Voxis productions whos unique style drew me in but I stopped watching on account of his elitism and complaints of "forced diversity".

It's gotten to the point where I'm almost afraid to research deeper into Youtubers. I usually settle for not clicking random stuff that pops up in my feed.

a warhammer 40k fan being a fascist isnt that surprising given people actually think of the imperium of man as heroes.

Oxhorn's not surprising. He gives off the total vibe of being a Nice Guy pickup artist who would chew a woman out for "not giving him a chance."

And his endorsement is just about fitting in this game.

The only youtuber I really follow exclusively nowadays in which I try not to miss any video from him is NicoB.

Many A True Nerd is my go-to for now. I also watch Mx R and Materwelonz, but Ma TN is where it's at for me until my own channel gets steady and popular enough to cut down my watching time.

As far as Fallout content goes, I've only ever subscribed to Fudgemuppet. I love their builds and lore videos.

I liked Shoddycast's lore videos.

I'm not sure the Oxhorn Shout-Out can be blamed on the game or just unfortunate timing.

It's always the latter with things like this. Same with the Micheal Jackson shout-out in Devil May Cry V.

Yeah, remember that game development usually takes years.

I still remember that debacle over the Spiderman Easter Egg marriage proposal. The one where it turned out that the requester had already been dumped by his girlfriend. Made worse because he tried to blame it on her cheating on him with his brother, and after she got harassed for it she told reporters that she dumped him because he was an immature shitty manchild who refused to grow up. She only later got close to his brother after dumping him since his brother was apparently an actually functional adult.

Definitely bad timing. Now how those kind of things are perceive depends of how the game/the company is perceived. DMC V was a really good game and Capcom had been pretty good at handling past controversies such as when they took down the original version of Dante's theme when it came to light than the singer was in a abusive relationship with an underage girl and had it redone by someone else, so nobody is willing to hang DMC for that.

Considering fallout 76 is fallout 76, I'm not sure it'll getthe same reception, even though that's probably one of the things bethesda doesn't really deserve a kick for.

All sides being fair, here's another video about Oxhorn made at a later date than the video above this post.

It goes into the needed detail to explain WHY there's any blowback of his behavior and views lately. Forgive the part where shitlord mentions not wanting to be an SJW about Oxhorn's homophobic actions, that's not really relevant to anything damaging to his credibility and I'm sure he doesn't lean hard right.

Oxhorn made his own video on the topic that I thought was decent. Admittedly I was a fan of his, have only heard the criticism recently, and he always struck me as a nice guy which heavily biases me.

The video he made 2 weeks ago? It's contents are also looked over in the video I posted.

Unironically using the term SJW already destroys a lot of credibility.
