Siluca - Timeskip, Outside Adventurer’s Guild/Quest Board

While there were no major expeditions over the next two weeks, Siluca found herself quite busy nevertheless.

Shortly after returning to Akihabara, Siluca had gone over to Kokonoe’s place to provide one of the Ragnite chunks for study, though while the results of that were yet to be seen, Siluca had been going over some of the documents that had been retrieved from the Fire Nation airship.

Sometime within the following week, more people, calling themselves Darcsens, came into the city, with a few of them taking residence in the Log Horizon district. What interested her was that, when she went over to the dwarves to see them trying to develop flintlock muskets, a few of them mentioned that Ragnite could be used as a substitute for the gunpowder required for the weapons.

Knowing this, Siluca tried to call an impromptu Council session with as many city guardians as were willing to attend, and announced the recent acquisition of the Ragnite mine. While she was initially cautious about the material, hearing that these new refugees knew about it and seemed comfortable about it meant Siluca was more willing to let some of the material be imported into the city. Whether it would be would still depend on the council’s overall opinion and those of her appointees, though Siluca could tell that faith in the council seemed to be dwindling. At the same time, when Siluca went about the city, she noticed more than a few new faces since she had departed for the expedition.

During the two weeks, Siluca also tried to take some steps to establishing a more mobile scouting force and a supply route to the mine. However, taming the Chocobos was a lot harder than expected, as Siluca lacked Theo’s grace and was chucked off one of the creatures when she tried to ride it. Still, a few of those living in her district were beginning to produce a few wagons, and Siluca noted that one of those living in the central guild hall was starting some Chocobo breeding program, though Siluca was still reluctant to be around Naga. Though it would be a while before they were eventually mature, she hoped that she would be able to acquire some of them soon, though the lizard men that Hiccup befriended did worry her somewhat.

Without any animal labor, ferrying supplies over to the Ragnite mine was often an arduous task, and Siluca had to eventually decline going to Chun-Li’s classes. A few of the Darcsen residents mentioned making some machine that might be able to help make the wagon move on its own, and Siluca saw a few designs like that in the notes, though it would be a long while before they had anything like that, and they would need metals outside what they had scavenged to make that work. As the new migrants were able to contribute to the district’s overall productive economy, more of the original villagers were available as levies and scouts, and more of them were able to hunt the various wildlife (outside the Tiger Clan and other sentients), and eventually they were able to begin exporting to some of the other factions (including possibly Wendy’s).

Though the lack of horses or ridable Chocobos made things difficult, Siluca continued to scout the surrounding landscape for other sites of interest, and she started to make a detailed map of what she found. Though she could not find villages or sites that could be liberated from the Fire Nation, she was able to find a few sites that the others indicated contained copper and iron. Knowing that the other factions might try to also claim these lands, Siluca convened an impromptu meeting with the leading members of her district to discuss establishing colonies on these sites, to which more than a few of them agreed, seeing how important these resources were. The question was which which people to send to these areas, though she left the gathering of willing volunteers to these sites to those residents who wanted to lead these efforts.

After some time, Siluca noticed that many of the original villagers started displaying skill in battle. Apparently, when Siluca had been busy managing the administration of her district, scouting, or touring the city, a few of them had undergone Class Changes. One of them was now donning the incredibly bulky armor found in one of the rooms while a few others had donned the equipment found in the other rooms. Others, to Siluca’s astonishment, were now seemingly able to cast magic using tomes. While two of them could cast fire magic, it did not quite have the same explosive power as Siluca’s spells. Another mage was able to peform some sort of light blast, while another used magic that looked like some form of arts or chaos. Luckily, these forms of magic didn’t seem to have any malicious effects on the villagers’ sanity, and were it not for the fact this world had changed what she could cast, Siluca would have been able to cast such dark magic as well, though what she knew of those arts was mostly limited to summons. Now that she knew some of her levies could cast magic, she began training them on the ways of magic, even though these arts were largely different, and Siluca took greater efforts to train her forces into a coordinated regiment. She also tried to have some of the Earthbenders train with her levy, though many of them preferred to serve shifts at the Ragnite mine.

During all this, Siluca had caught wind of Kaga’s plan to assassinate the Fire Lord and have Mystique disguise herself in his place. Although Siluca did not know whether those involved had actually bothered to ask her, Siluca figured the shapeshifter was someone who might go through this. In spite of her initial outburst when they first arrived, she seemed good-natured enough, even if she decided to place herself with Majima’s lot, though even Majima had surpassed the mage’s expectations. What Siluca did not know was whether Mystique could go through the trials of rulership, even if it was in the place of someone else. Siluca had been trained and educated to take on the role as advisor and administrator ever since she was a child, though it was different for someone who wasn’t from a world like her own. From what she had seen, Mystique seemed content to follow in Majima’s shadow, much like Siluca had done with Theo, and while her abilities had their applications, Siluca did know how much her skills extended beyond that. Majima’s faction did seem to have a large number of guardians compared to others, though outside of assisting with projects it had not made many large claims within the past few weeks.

With her flub at the first Akihabaran council meeting, it wasn’t likely that Kaga or her assistant saw her on the best of terms. Furthermore, while this plan was one way to curb the might of the Fire Nation, Siluca wasn’t sure about the prospects of this plan. Even if this plan was successful, it was possible that Mystique might slip up, and after their forces had captured the Ragnite mine and repelled one of their advance battalions, the people would find it strange if their effective Emperor didn’t retaliate. Siluca would have been more amenable to a plan of liberation for those had been oppressed, as it would have allowed the Akihabaran confederation to solidify their position overall. Even if Mystique as the Fire Lord would try for peace, it was likely that the Fire Nation’s people would pressure her to continue the war. It had happened all too many times with regards Archduchess Marrine and the Waldlind knights, and that driving pride and honor had been a thorn in many of Siluca’s plans back in her home world.

Furthermore, Siluca was somewhat reluctant to risk the lives of her residents on this new adventure, when it was possible that it would all be for naught. As the days passed however, the sky started to turn red as some form of Chaos-like omen. Siluca would have preferred to continue managing the realm she worked to establish, but the sight of that sky did not sit well for her. A few of her residents brought their concerns about it to her, and Siluca mentioned the plan the other guardians had come of with, but she would need to deliberate on this matter a bit more.

From what she had seen, a few of the other factions had been preparing for this mission against the Fire Lord, and today was likely the day they were going to strike. It was likely they would be gathering over near the main Guild building or the east gate, so Siluca started by checking the former.

When she arrived, she saw two guardians who seemed to have only arrived two weeks before. Aside from the refugees and villagers, she didn’t see many people beside them, at least not yet. From what she remembered, Oscar seemed to be part of a faction that had formed sometime after Siluca’s expedition, though she wasn’t sure how many people were a part of that. The other woman had guns similar to what the Jack Bros had summoned (though she couldn’t remember which one summoned it).

Siluca glanced over to the job board. The people and guardians outside her district had taken an interest in it, though Siluca herself had been reluctant to make use of it. When things needed to be done, she usually did it herself or tasked her residents with doing various things for salary. Otherwise, if she needed cooperation from the other factions, she would have gone to their leaders or associates directly.

Siluca approached Oscar and Lady, “Do either of you know where I can find Kaga or…” Siluca paused, trying to remember who the apparent leader of Oscar’s faction was, “Enterprise? That mission is supposed to be today, right?”

Gespenst - Shopping District

He scribbled down another note on his piece of paper. Guilliam Yeager, that was a name he had heard before from the man who claimed to be the sword that cleaves evil.

“I’ve heard of a man like that, but only second hand.”

He looked around the district.

“So what are you doing here? I’m getting prepared for a mission I keep hearing about.”

Lady (Guild Hall)-Self proclaimed, my ass

Lady turned to face Oscar directly. "That's me." Or at least, she hadn't heard of any other demon hunters running around. She felt very very tempted to correct him on the "Self Proclaimed" comment, but it was true that she'd had yet to locate any actual demons in the city, so she supposed he was not incorrect. "Not that I've seen hide or hair of any actual demons yet, so I don't know how relevant the title is going to be here. Name's Lady. Pleased to meet you, Mr...."

Before he had a chance to introduce herself, someone else walked up. Lady didn't remember the name offhand, although she was pretty sure this woman was in charge of one of the areas or organizations in the city. "I think Kaga keeps her base in that old train station where I see those Majima construction workers going every day. Not so sure about the other, er.....boat woman....."

It had taken her hours to even process how the hell that made any kind of sense, and even then she was just left scratching her head at the specifics, eventually having to just say what amounted to "Fuck it, just roll with it."

"...But you could probably try her actual ship? It's parked somewhere around her, they're probably both busy with final preparations for that attack today.

Inside Team Rocket HQ

Two weeks passed for Team Rocket. Giovanni continued to lead the operation as a would-be law enforcement organization. The new arrival of the Darcsens even gave the crew a few more recruits. More and more of Team Rocket's grunts were keeping an eye out on the streets, day and night. A few even got their hands on a few crude handmade pistols, which only further added to Team Rocket's image as the unofficial police force of the city, whenever anyone liked it or not.

Inside the old ugly building that housed Team Rocket's headquarters, Giovanni was standing in front of his desk in his third floor office, standing within view of a large assortment of Team Rocket grunts dressed in athletic uniforms. In the weeks that passed, Giovanni's office turned into a full-scale gym. Ropes dangled from the ceiling, and exercise equipment and sparring weapons lines the walls. Giovanni stepped forward, adjusted his tie, and began to speak.

"It's come to my attention that some of the residents of Akihabara are planning a full-scale invasion of the Fire Nation. I understand that some of you here today formerly served the Fire Nation, and might not approve of such a thing. I'm not so fond of their course of action, myself," Giovanni stated, closing his eyes for a moment and grinning.

"I am not getting involved in this little spat, and I hope you all do the same. Let our friends have their fun. As long as we're in Team Rocket, we need to hold ourselves to a high standard. Because, as far as I'm concerned, we are still the only legitimate law enforcement in this city. Now, you all know what needs to be done this morning. I'll leave you to it."

Giovanni took a mug of tea that was on his desk, and watched as his men and women got to work, climbing up the ropes that hung from the ceiling, doing push ups on the floor, or preparing to spar with wooden batons.

Pink Diamond, Cathedral

After a job well done rescuing the little cubs, Pink went to work training up her crew. Through combat training, many of them were able to become knights, archers, and fighters with mastery over various simple melee weapons along with bows. She helped the humans build statues to honor their chosen deity in an effort to make them feel more comfortable in their temple of worship. Also on her to do list was helping with things like farming and agriculture. Food supply was going to be a major concern concern as the population grew in this land of scarce resources, and Pink’s plant based powers allowed her to speed up the production of crops considerably. Some strange beings called ‘Pikgirls’ seemed to be eager to help defend the plantlife, which was nice.

In the weeks that passed, the Cathedral had been cleaned up a bit and looked nicer than it did before. There were also now some communal bedrooms for anyone who found themselves homeless in this strange land. In general, Pink spent this time finding the people who had the least to their name and trying to help them in whatever way she could.

As far as the plan to attack the Fire Nation went, Pink did not feel comfortable sending her men and women into battle. They were still learning the basics of combat, and she wasn’t about to risk their lives for the sake of someone else’s operation. So she would continue to aid the people of Akihibara right here in every way she could.

Destoroyah, Shopping District

Destoroyah, meanwhile, spent a lot of time plundering various technology from the other side of the Shrine Gate. She had set up her own not-so-little mad scientist lair in Akibahara that she used to store her ill-gotten gains. She hadn’t invented anything just yet, but one day she was going to make a robot army, or genetically modified superbeings, or something befitting of a powerful kaiju. Perhaps when she had something resembling a budget to do so.

In the mean time, she had also hopped on board the plan to invade the Fire Nation. Why? Because it gave her an excuse to fight. The Frontiers was a giant Red Lobster, and Destoroyah was the greasiest, most likely to give everyone a fatal heart attack item on the menu in this weird metaphor. Plus, who knows what kind of tech those guys have? She could probably pilfer a bunch of stuff during the commotion and nobody would blink an eye.

”So what's up, big and steely?” she asked Ges, who she was suddenly near. ”You look like you've got something important in mind.”

Scrooge - Rising Entrepeneur, Adventurer's Guild

Scrooge just ignored Junko's blatant provocations and left to do his own business, doing his best to not acknowledge the creepy skeleton. The duck had big plans.

And in the two weeks that followed, his plans were actually going pretty well. He started by digging into the spot where he thought he saw traces of copper. Tough it needed some real hard work on his body (it was one of these case where he was glad he didn't have rheumatism anymore), he turns he was right and found quite an amount of the metal. Happy that his test was successful, he picked up some of the ore and hid the hole he made along with posing a few rudimentary traps around it.

The next priority was then presenting the sample to whatever group that would need materials, such as the dwarves or Nasod Production, and strike a deal with them. Due to the absence of actual currency, they were to be paid with technology, items or even workforce. He was old and it's not like he could be everywhere at once. People were interested, tough they were also looking for other metals such as iron to help their own projects. A need which Scrooge was happy to work to provide.

It was thus like that more and more mines were opened, each producing a different metal. In fact, it seemed that every time someone absolutely needed a specific metal, some of the stuff was found somewhere in the city. Scrooge would have questioned the convenience of that fact if he wasn't so involved in the making of his new company. The increasing technology and number of workers recruited from different groups of refugees that had settled in the Frontiers certainly helped. Wood barriers made quickly and cheaply and guards equipped with dwarvish firearms protected the duck's property which were indicated by a big sign placed in front of them to be formally called "Mc Duck Mines".

All in all, there were now three main mines. Those were bigger than the others who produced in smaller quantity metals which were more specialized for one need each. These bigger mines produced respectively copper, iron and gold. Things were going good for the anthropomorphic duck. And if his new project worked, it would only continue. He commissioned the dwarves to forge a bunch of prototype copper coins whose appearance were based on that of his Number One Dime. Their back faces were all graved with a depiction of the Hill of Origins. He intended to hold up a council meeting to introduce them as the official money of the Frontiers.

Dragging a cart containing the coins behind him, he walked toward the place where he'd be sure to see people of different factions: the Adventurer's Guild, especially since he heard a big mission was going to begin soon. As a bonus, he didn't mind busting some Flame Country heads. He arrived to that moron Oscar talking with two lasses. He approached and greeted Silucar. "Hello, lass. I don't know where two are beyond what the gun-loving lady already said, but I'm actually looking for the two of them too. You see, I have a proposal for the council, and I would like to inform the higher number of people possible."

Entry 002 Part 3 (Lune - Shopping District)

Luckily, this Gespenst heard of Guilliam as well, but he heard his name from a second-hand source. There was a possibility that that source might exaggerate the feats that Guilliam was capable of doing, though. I might have to ask more from Gespenst to see what this Guilliam has done on his journeys.

He asked me what I was doing around this shopping district. To that, I said, “Setting up the foundation for a workshop around these parts. We're doing simple toys, so the villagers can get used to assembling things.”

And then Ges brought up the fact that he was going on a mission. I almost forgot about that while I was working on the shop. “Oh, right. That mission! Where is the group is gonna meet for that?”

After asking that, I hopped out of my stand in a dynamic manner and glanced at my nearby workers. I will be busy with my Fire Nation engagement, so someone had to run the shop while I was gone, right? With this in mind, I handed a set of keys to a perky pink-haired girl named Malia. For some reason, she knew many strange dances that kept the rest of my workers motivated for the rest of the day.

“Here, Malia”, I confidently said to the best worker at my shop. “Keep an eye on the shop while I'm gone, okay.”

As she saluted me, she exclaimed, “You got it, boss!” She started a dance of stamina, and everyone at my shop began working 100% more efficiently.

To my surprise, I noticed a cute crab girlnote  wearing a frilly dress in the corner of my eye. For some reason, she reminded me of Ovi. Maybe it's the cute yet dangerous presences they both give off. I dunno.

“Hey. Are you new here?”

Two Weeks Later

Rico Rodriguez had found himself quite busy over the past two weeks. For a large part, he was a man of his word, and most of his time was spent helping Enterprise to prepare the Hornet for what he had learned was an eventual planned attack on the Fire Nation. The regime change specialist had immediately agreed to help out; after seeing the situation where they had kept a group of people enslaved to mine dangerous explosive materials, he couldn't see them as much different from the DRM and what they did to Medici. They needed to go, and yesterday.

Of course, he didn't spend all of his time helping out Enterprise, despite the fact that she was grateful for the extra American help (even if that American was born somewhere else). During the time when he was off work, or a task needed to be performed that he couldn't help with, he was busy exploring Akihabara - sometimes by foot, sometimes by grappling around. It was a quaint little town that looked like it had walked out of a fantasy TV show, though the people there were nicer than what you tended to see on HBO. Akihabara was a nice place, and though some of the people there were... not exactly the squeakiest, Rico had done some pretty nasty things himself, so he wasn't going to go around starting fires.

And that occasionally meant people needed favors done. Rico was always one to help out with a few things - usually just fetch this or find that, though there were a few odd ones. Like the time he got asked to find someone's kid after they had ran off and spent a good half-day tracking them down from the air. Or the person who wanted a better house and asked Rico if they could bring it down, since they seemed the "smashy" type - it was a job exactly up his alley, but unfortunately he lacked explosives, so he had to put it on the backburner.

His newly found rifle saw a bit of use as Rico familiarized himself with it. Reload drills weren't too possible - he only had the one magazine - but he did his best anyways. Of course, target practice for Rico was different than target practice for most others - sometimes he practiced aiming, but most of the time he fired on the move, or fired while dropping from the sky. In modern warfare, speed killed - and Rico hadn't survived in the Agency by being slow. The fact he had a rifle also meant the hammer was now a moot point - he could just whip somebody who got too close with a Grappler line. He made it a point to hand the hammer back to Oscar, even if he didn't particularly like the man - it wasn't his in the first place, and it was being lent because he needed the equipment. He did thank Oscar for handing it out, and informed him that it had drank a little blood in his hands.

As he drew close to the day of the assault, though, he met another one of the displaced individuals here. A strange fox-eared woman, Shirakami - sort of like Kaga, but with a tank. They got along fairly well, and after Rico admitted he had a little bit of experience bashing things into shape Shirakami asked him if he could help a bit with tank maintenance. Rico was up-front; he didn't exactly have the skillset of a mechanic, but he was willing to learn. A tank would be handy for the fight. And maybe it would be handy for demolishing that house - if a little overkill.

The day after they met, he headed over to where her tank was parked in the way he was usually accustomed; from the air, gently drifting down on top of it with his parasail. "Bullseye. And the Agency snipers had the nerve to call me inaccurate - I'd like to see them nail landings like these on the regular."

He hopped off of the tank and looked around for Shirakami. He couldn't exactly fix the thing without her around to tell him what to do. He could try, but it would probably just result in him breaking it.

Oscar, Quest Board

Before he could introduce himself to... Lady (a codename?), another woman approached them, asking about the whereabouts of either Lady Enterprise or the treacherous fox-carrier. All this Reason-based training at least gave Oscar an ability to not betray himself with reflexive tells, but his glare hardened ever so slightly at the mention of Kaga all the same. "Aye, 'tis today. Lady Enterprise currently resides on "Hornet", if you've any need of her. Head that way." Here, the exorcist gestured towards the direction he came from.

"If you will be having any trouble finding the locale, ask those with white armbands for assistance. They will show you the way." For the time being, this was all in the way of dress code that Oscar could allow. With preparations for the war against the fire barbarians taking primary focus of everyone in the know, there was little time to establish the services of a tailor for more refined uniforms. The familiar grumpy duck showed up. Against better odds, Mc Duck turned out to be the major player in the city; a thought that irked Oscar ever so slightly.

"As for the Sakura leader, I've no particular knowledge of her whereabouts." Informative business taken care of, he finally looked back to Lady. "Apologies, I sidetracked a bit. Oscar Dragonia, exorcist. I must admit, a daemon-purging quest would be quite enjoyable to take my mind off the political intrigue right now."

Lady nodded as Oscar introduced himself properly. "Well, pleased to meet you, Mr Dragonia. If I catch wind of any demon activity, I'll be sure to invite you along. Need to keep our skills sharp, after all."

Hiccup and Toothless - Times are a-changing

In the two weeks since the meeting, Hiccup and his villagers have been busy. Not long after making the orphanage with the dragon woman, more refugees calling themselves the Darcsens came in. After taking some into his number, one takes note of the forge and speaks of an even better way to create tools. An 'assembly line' as he called it, can cut down on the time and energy to make weapons and armor.

Apparently said man helped make a few back in his world and can help make another one. With his mind set, Hiccup had the large building cleaned out of it's furniture and began making it into a factory. As for where he got the materials for this came from, the dragon rider made a partnership with Scrooge. For mining equipment and showing him potential mining sites Hiccup found when scouting the lands, he gets a nice portion of materials.

Copper, iron and gold were being made for this, some iron being sent to the Hornet's repair, but the best part gained from this was Ragnite. From what the Darcsens have said about this, it has many uses, such as weapons and even medicine. However, what Hiccup was interested in was it's use as fuel. This is what is used to power the factory. He's even made assembly lines for metal and wood. He still keeps the old forge, in case he wants something made with more personal attention to it.

However, the jump in innovation was not what was on Hiccup's mind. The plan to attack the Fire Nation was coming close, and the red skies hung as an omen, and seeing how the Firebenders not part of the Fire Nation's side are getting their powers boosted, it doesn't like a good omen. He's bringing along a handful of helpers for backup, but all of them have either bows or guns to keep them far from the enemy, with leather armor to protect them. The Viking knew that the last thing you want to touch is burning metal, so no iron armor.

As Hiccup, Toothless, and the five bowmen/gunmen went to the Adventurer's Guild, Hiccup notices the large number of interesting looking people there, Scrooge being among them.

"So, anyone else here to knock the Fire Nation down a peg?" Hiccup asked the crowd.

Hill of Origin

Seeing as some of the newcomers come from the Hill, Hiccup decided to help with adapting them into the city by putting up a small wooden booth full of maps of the city. On the back of the maps are some wording, it says, "Hello Newcomer! You must be very confused right now. To explain as best I can, you are not in your home realm. You are in a place called the 'Frontiers', the city you are in being called 'Akihabara'. No, you are not the only one taken here, and the others are likely not from your home as well. Why are we here? That's a long story that can't be explained here, just go to one of the places on the map and ask around, you'll get an answer. *Note, if you are injured, go to the Sanctuary for healing, if you are lone child, go to the Orphanage.

The map itself is uncolored, but points of interests are marked and named, including the South Wall, Pink Diamond's Sanctuary, the Adventurer’s Guild, the docks, and the Large Tree (not that you need a map to see it).

Gespenst didn't really remember himself, but that seemed like it was a central building in this city and the most obvious place for people to show up to prepare for the attack. Then Destoroyah showed up and said hello, so he waved hello back and started writing something else down.

"Looking for some material to make a flag/banner before attack."

O'Kais

-Returning dejectedly from his trip to the swamp, O'Kais heads for the central hill. Though the lizardmen have much in common with the Kroot and do not seem averse to joining the Greater Good in exchange for food (instead of more noble reasons, but such things will come in time), they lack the adaptive capability and the experience of large-scale warfare that makes the Kroot such useful allies. Even the prototype of a Krootrifle cobbled together from ragnite cells and parts left over from the gue'la's own gunsmithing experiments failed to produce the hoped-for results.-

-It is useless to apply the teachings of Mont'ka and Kau'yon here without the specially-designed weapons or trained troops to do so. The Shas'O has continued his lonely training sessions in between grilling the gue'vesa'el for information and speaking to the lizardmen, waiting for news of a Fire Nation comeback to begin diplomatic relations.-

-Still, there is hope. The gue'la of the city welcomed another wave of refugees who brought a great deal of technical equipment with them, allowing them to produce their first firearms. Though there is still no means of mass-producing Earth Caste weapons yet, it will certainly not be long before a distress beacon can be produced to bring this world into the fold. There has been no attempt at a coup from any of the factions, nor have the statue-infused psykers shown any signs of mental imbalance, although perhaps this is because they also do not seem to worship their emperor-god anymore. Similarly, the pyrokinetic shas'gue have shown themselves willing helpers in the construction efforts, using their psychic abilities to replace welders and electric lighting.-

-As he approaches the hill, O'Kais looks to the reddening sky with a sense of foreboding. The shas'gue have claimed to see their powers growing recently, and the sky's color seems to be linked to this atmospheric phenomenon. He must remember to question Wei about this, due to the disturbing parallels with what gue'la call "Warp storms".-

-Mokou enters the bar, a package under her arm, and heads for the bar. In the past two weeks she has mostly worked the fires of Wendy's eatery to ensure no one went hungry, and is finally taking the time to see what else is going on in the city.-

-While the existence of firebenders held her attention at once, she quickly realized their power was nothing like her own. They call upon fires with graceful movements instead of willing it into existence, and none of them are able to create living things out of flame, like the hand-sized firebird currently covering her shift at Wendy's while wearing a tiny hairnet.-

Can I trade food for drinks here?

Wulfrik, Wastelands

-Wulfrik breathes deeply and sighs just as deeply as he looks upon the motley assortment of motorized scum under his banner. In two weeks, the only reinforcement he has found was a similar gang of roving outlaws, thieves, and rapists not even a score strong, following a brute who barely lasted a minute against Wulfrik, most of it spent running away. He hadn't even needed to use his gift or bloody his swords for that one, squeezing the idiot's unworthy skull until it burst to ensure the marauders' fear-inspired loyalty.-

-The first night was the hardest, as the twin moons in the sky struck him with the undeniable revelation was still trapped on this hated world, and that no barricade at the gate could keep the other imbeciles from showing up eventually. Thankfully his henchman Point had found the tracks of another encampment close by, recalling Wulfrik to his duty as a faithful servant of Chaos and dredging him up from the all-too familiar pits of despair.-

-And now, another day following what he hopes to be a better-armed warband.-

Point! Get these sluggards moving, I want the camp torn down and everyone mounted in half an hour!

Destoroyah, Shopping District

"Yup!" she said to Lune. "Just got here a couple weeks ago. My name's Destoroyah."

She turned to Ges.

"A flag, huh? Hm... if you're gonna make a war flag, it should be something awe inspiring for your troops and terrifying for your enemies. Something depicting the sea creatures rising up and destroying the humans for polluting our seas! ...Ok, maybe not that last part. I just got a little excited there."

Kaga - Timeskip

Over the two week time skip, Kaga had been quite productive with the navy. Having managed to use them to erect a field airstrip in about a day. Though to be honest it wasn't exactly much to look at at this time, simply a long flat path of dirt functioning as a runway, and a couple wooden hangers.

3 of the hangers have been dedicated to Kaga's aircraft. A single copy of each type now being at full scale, and each with its own hanger the fox has been using the airstrip to retrain the men in.... airplane maintenance. It was even more unimpressive right now since there wasn't any thing flying in or out due to the lack of pilots, but it was a foundation for the future. By the time they were able to get them airborne her men were going to know how tear a plane down, and how to re-assemble it piece by piece.

It helped quite a bit that they were enthused to learn about the airplanes.... Obviously realizing that they were the future of naval warfare much faster then the people had back home, but it was still slow going given how far above the technology they were used to it was... It was a gap of half a century, a whole generation... and it would take a while to adapt.

Some choice comments that were overheard during training that emphasized this included....

"Well no wonder this 'plane' thing of yours won't move, you put the propeller on the wrong end!"
"Yeah, and there's nowhere to attach the sails!"
"Where's the anchor on this thing?"
"Wheels? Why does it have wheels?"

Kaga - Train Station Now

Kaga followed M16 to what she wanted to show her, wondering where the couch sized lump had come from. When it was revealed to be a robo-cow she just kind of stared for a few seconds at it, trying to find the correct words.

"I have many questions... First.... is that thing safe? Second.... Is that one of those "drone" things. Third.... If I were to train one would you be able to like.... make copies of the trained version? And finally.... Did you keep its brain?" The fox queried while walking around the mechanical bull, examining it from all angles. It was obvious that she was impressed, but she was still trying to figure out what to make of it, and not quite sure about trying it out just yet.

Shirakami - Time Skip

Over the two weeks that passed, Shirakami spent most of her time modifying the tank she had come with. Without the rest of her crew having come with her that left a lot of extra internal space, she just needed enough room for her to either use the turret or drive, no need for 3 in the turret at the same time as 2 in the hull.

Capitalizing on this she enlisted the help of Rico, after over hearing that he worked with race cars to re-do the interior of the vehicle, regulations be damned, this wasn't Japan any more any way. Additional fuel tanks were added to the vehicles insides, the hull machine gunners position was removed, with its gun being moved to the back end of the turret like in older tank models. The saved space was then sectioned off for storage of objects internally.

After Rico noted that the tanks visor posed a weak-spot on the construction, and a bit of back and forth related to the specifics of how to fix that with the tech available, the visor was removed, and the hole left by it sealed up, a periscope put in its place.

The Machinegun on top of the commanders copula was also removed, as well as its mount since it was now redundant with only one person able to operate one weapon at a a time, the metal from the mount was used for the things like sealing up the visor, while the Type 97 heavy tank machine gun itself was given to Rico to do with as he pleased.

Finally a trailer hitch was attached to the back of the tank, allowing it to function more viably as a tractor like the type 97 te-ke was used, the fox came to the conclusion that in uncharted territory they might get more use out of just having a heavy vehicle then a war machine.

All in all, other then the visor going missing, and a couple little protrusions appearing on top of the tanks hull going missing, not much changed from the outside, but the vehicle had been changed quite a bit.

Shirakami - Now

The fox was currently relaxing inside the adventurer's guild, of which the tank was parked outside of.... Currently she was doing a mixture relaxing after a long period of work on the tank.... and waiting for a new job as well. Although this mostly just sitting over to the side and getting something to eat herself, a bit to... shy to actually get up and proactively network.

Although, that was before Rico entered as well, knowing him personally she gave him a wave.

Gespenst shuffled through some of his older papers before finding what he was looking for and holding it up to Destoroyah. On it was a drawing of the emblem the mecha was planning to turn into a flag, little notes scribbled on the side said he wanted it to be red and was planning to make the background blue. He scribbled down a note on another page since he wanted to get under way.

"I buy supplies then meet you at guild. Will send Rover with you to show way if you don't know."

he gestured to the charger that was walking with him, apparently he had named it rover.

Hornet - Special Delivery

"Siiiiiiis," Yorktown called as she boarded the Hornet carrying a wooden box. She was sporting a big hearty grin, the type someone usually had when they were ready to surprise someone with a gift.

She strolled on over towards Enterprise, setting the box down by her.

"I thought you might be so focused on getting things ready that you'd forget to eat, so your big sister made sure to stop by Wendy's and get you something," she teased, pulling out a circular metal lid with one hand, and waving what looked like a deep-fried fried turkey leg in the other. "They've been hunting those large birds and frying them, it's just like authentic country food. And...."

She pointed the leg down at the box, where it had a mid-sized oil barrel filled with the greasy waste product of deep fat frying.

"I also filled up on the oil it was fried in!"

Adventurer's Guild

"Juuuuuuuuuuuri!" Naga called out loudly, walking through the cavernous halls of the Adventurer's Guild while lugging a gigantic sack over her shoulder.

"Here's your half of the gold from the camp we destroyed," Naga cheered as she emptied out the contents of the bag, a waterfall of gold coins pouring out onto the floor. One side of the coin had Naga's winking face, while the tail side had a goofy-looking dragon's tail.

"I took the liberty of having one of the villagers train as a blacksmith, and then had her work her magic on her anvil and cast all of the gold into wonderful little coins," said said with an abundance of pride. "I thought long and hard about how nobody had a standardized coin to use, and then had the brilliant idea to make our own! No more having to convert between our own gold coins, and the Fire Nation coins, and the coins the villagers and the new townspeople came with. Genius, wouldn't you say?"

She raised a finger as if casting a spell. A spell that involved blowing people's minds with the knowledge she was about to drop.

"Of course, that doesn't solve the problem of how we get other people to use them, but that's easy. We spend it on whatever we want!" She laughed giddily and danced around. "Once we've spent every last one, people will start having enough money to post more dangerous and rewarding jobs on the quest board, and then we can earn all sorts of riches!"

M16A1 - Train Station

"Ha, you weren't joking about a lot of questions," M16 conceded, rubbing one hand on the back of her neck and smiling sheepishly. "Where to begin..."

She let out a whistle and snapped.

"First off, this thing's safe as can be, because it is me," she explained. "It's just like one of my other bodies. So yeah, I guess you could call it a drone... of sorts."

"As for it's brain... yeah, it's there, but not really there," she continued. "Computer brains are a little different from how a normal human's might work. There are these things called disks that we use to store data on, like human memory, and then these other things we call processors that do the thinking part of the brain. But the processor can't really do any thinking on its own without being told how to think, so it uses the information from the storage to to know what to do. It's like uh... Jesus, I shoot things, I'm not a teacher, so it's a little rough trying to explain this shit."

She rubbed her chin.

"Okay so you can teach a person how to play a sport like football... you don't know football, do you? Hockey? Soccer? Baseball? Well, whatever, sports, you know sports at least." She tried to figure out how to salvage this horror show of a Computers 101 course. "And that person plays Baseball all their life so they good get at swinging a bat, throwing a ball, running, all sorts of things. But then pretend that person loses their memories. They still have the body of a pro baseball player, but they can't play baseball because they don't know what the fuck a bat is. So what I did is I deleted everything on this thing's hard drive, destroying every last memory it has. So it's like its brain is still Babe Ruth, but it doesn't remember being Babe Ruth, right? It's just a brain-dead shell."

She tapped on her temple.

"But that's okay, because I have plenty of brain to spare," she smirked. "So it's got plenty of processing power, and then I put a copy of my own programming in there. Now instead of knowing how to play Baseball, this thing has something a whole lot more fun to play - me."

She blinked. Right, jokes later.

"So yeah basically the short of it is that you can't really do this on your own. If we got more of these things, I could do the same thing to 'em, but they'd still be stuck being me. I think I could probably blank one and put in some basic program, and if you trained that one up we could copy it to another one no problem. But you'd have to waste a lot of time breaking it in, like some sort of dog or something. You don't need to do that with me. I already know how to walk, talk, shake. You don't need to give me any training."

She winked.

"Unless you're into that."

Kaga - Train Station

Kaga nodded along, listening and trying to decipher what was being said intently. "I would appreciate if you could make me a blanked one actually, but not so that I can make another you.... I mean while what you did to that thing is impressive, when I hear that I hear the start of our drone squadrons" Kaga replied to M16.

"We can take the blank brain, and put it inside a Glider, and then use that to train it while we train the sailors as mechanics, we will use just a little model glider so that it cant really fuck any thing up while we train it.... then once it is able to fly, the process is simple, and we can bypass the whole central hub.... hacking... thing. We launch it, and copies of it, whatever copy does the best gets to overwrite the others when it lands, if it dies it wasn't fit any way.... and we just... keep doing this, between every attack run, and while it might be rocky at first, given enough runs we will have essentially created an ace who cant die, and always passes on a perfect copy of its experiences", the fox explained her goals with a grin, as she poked the cow lightly, before awkwardly climbing aboard.

"Your sure this is okay though?"

Adventurer's Guild

Taking a moment to look around, and adjust the weight slung across his back, Rico quickly figured out that he'd managed to fly over to the Adventurer's Guild. Shirakami had been nice (or perhaps evil) enough to give him the tank's machine gun as payment for helping her out with the tank, though Rico found it incredibly difficult to use. It weighed a ton, had an incredibly small magazine capacity, and he found it was generally unusable.

Fortunately, a factory had opened up nearby, so he took it over and managed to, after paying with his labor, get some work done on it. The barrel had been toughened up for rapid fire; the few magazines he'd fired out of the ancient machine gun revealed its stock barrel was incredibly prone to overheating. The scope that was on the weapon had been sheared off; mounted on top of the barrel was a grip that allowed Rico to wield the weapon and fire on the move - albeit with significant difficulty. And finally, he'd managed to get one or two custom magazines built for it - heavy 100 round drums capable of loading a lot more ammunition than the machine gun's utterly anemic 20 rounders.

If Shirakami was going to be offended about the work that had been done, he had already decided to let it roll over him. That machine gun was barely fit for use defending a house, let alone inside an armored fighting vehicle.

"Hello, Miss Fubuki!" Rico waved, entering the Adventurer's guild - the silhouette of the Type 97 visible from his back along with the Demonica replica assault rifle hanging off of his front by a sling. "Have you had a nice night?"

"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp."

Entry 002 Part 4A (Lune - Lune's Shop)

The crab girl called herself Destoroyah, which was odd since it sounded like a mangling of the word Destroyer. Why would someone name their kid Destroyer is beyond me, but I think the name was chosen because of her dangerous presence. I wouldn't want to get on her bad side, though. Any enemy made now can be a future hindrance down the road.

“It's nice to meet you, Dest!” I said as I shook her unusual hand.

According to Gespenst, the meeting place for this meeting was the adventurer's guild. That made a lot of sense since we met there for the meeting for the invasion against the Fire Nation. “Thanks, man! I owe you one!”

With this in mind, I dashed towards the Adventurer's Guild. Luckily, another worker was at the stand to pick up the slack for me. Her name was Milliana. She was a white-haired healer girl who specialized in light & healing magic. She came in handy when my workers were to get injured while assembling various toys.

“D-do not mind Lune... She is energetic because s-she wants to be a hero. T-Those people from the Fire Nation must have s-set her soul ablaze.”

Entry 002 Part 4B (Lune - Adventurer's Guild)

Luckily, I arrived at the Adventurer's Guild with plenty of time to spare. To pass the time, I ordered a breakfast meal from Wendy's. Gotta have some energy for the fight against the Fire Nation, you know. Seeing as I didn't have any money, I offered a few of my toys as compensation.

While I munched, I noticed two people talking about instituting a new currency for Akihabara. One of them was a purple-haired lady in a bikini and the other was a sinister girl with a weird hair-style and an eye-patch.

“All kinds of riches, huh?” I asked while I nibbled on some chocobo drumsticks. “When can I get a piece of that pie?”

Juri, Adventurer's Guild

When she heard Naga scream, Juri began nursing her head for the inevitable headache that was about to form. She looked at the gold coins which had poured out before picking one up to examine it. Of course, it would have her face on it. Juri snidely thought people would be more willing to obtain some if it had more of Naga's upper body on it, at least if the bandits they fought were any indication. Her plan was... probably going to be a complete failure since all she did was make one more set of coins to use. She bit on one of the coins to check to see that it was indeed precious metal.

Juri glanced over at Lune, glanced back at Naga, and then flipped one of Naga's coins over to Lune, "What do you think of the design?"

M16A1 - Train Station Workshop

"Easy, up and at 'em... there you go!" M16 cheered when Kaga got onto the Broadhead. She made the machine slowly start walking in a circle around the workshop.

"We can start slow and then speed up. Just try to hold on with your legs and get used to the feeling of having something moving around down there."

The Broadhead kept on getting a little faster, working its way up to trotting around the station, while M16 jogged alongside it. Alongside Herself.

"And yeah, I think that's workable, but slow. I think I know a way to speed things up," she added. "There's a lot of these machines on the other side of the gate. Big ones, small ones, really big ones. There's also some that fly. One that I've seen looks kinda like a big metal vulture with chainsaw teeth. If I can get one of those intact and reprogram it like this heifer here...."

She slapped the Broadhead's ass.

"Then I think that should make it a little easier to write up a plane-brain for you. Just need to take a look at what's written on it before I clean the slate, and then once I figure out how to control it myself, that should cut out some of the groundwork. The thing about these machines so far, if you take a look at its mouth and those canisters there, it's some sort of... fuel harvester. It eats grass and leaves and turns that into a fuel source, not really meant to fight. So if I just blanked one of these things, we'd have to figure out how to teach these things to fly, and how to fight while we're at it. But if we get one of those birdbrains, then that's half of the problem solved. It's like the difference between trying to teach a farmer to fly, and teaching a crop duster to fly a different plane."

"I haven't gotten my hands on one of them yet, but you...." She gestured with her hands at Kaga, pointing a finger-gun at her, and grinning. "You can deal with things in the air. If we took a little trip, I think you could force of those things to land, and then I could-"

She made another gesture with her hands, this time looking like she was 'plugging in' to her brain.

"So what do you say, Foxy, feel like getting in a quick duck hunt?" She asked Kaga. "No offense to that talking duck."

Naga - Adventurer's Guild

"Yeah, what do you think?" Naga echoed Juri, looking at Lune expectantly.

God Tree

"Hyap! Hya! Horah!" The sounds of enthusiastic children rang out in the surroundings, their energetic and youthful voices full of spirit. What was slightly more concerning though was the fact that said children were equipped in light armor and armed with a one handed weapon as well as a shield, striking at target dummies if equipped while the less burdened ran through an obstacle course that had been constructed.

Even more odd was that other children were currently studying charts that detailed both human and animal biology, the former pointing out the rudimentary areas that First Aid could handle as well as points of interest where one could hit to debilitate the opposition while the latter looked like the sort of sectioning that one would see on a butcher's map. Loki enjoyed the sights from her rocking chair as always, slit eyes closed in lazy satisfaction even as she held a hand over a boy's back to update his status.

Dreadnought meanwhile emotionally looked at the scene of the boot camp-esque area that she had set up with a tear in her eyes even as children learned how to defend themselves as well as survive in a pinch. The heart of a teacher must be tough to ensure that her pupils had the best chance for success and thus compulsory physical education had been enabled to ensure that they could at least hold out if there weren't any adults around.

Giving them the skills that any Adventurer would find helpful and letting them participate in the somewhat spartan-esque training area until she felt satisfied with their improvement, the Dragon Knight nodded with satisfaction before turning her attention to jot down future teachings such as mathematics and literacy classes. Education was important after all.

Wendy's

"Today must be something special considering that you people are gathering around and the sky has turned red." Wendolyn muttered even as she moved to and fro to home cook hefty meals for her dear customers, rather pleased that there was a noticeable spike in consumers after the latest migration. The Darcsens were nice people that weren't picky and had even 'modernized' her kitchen to some extent to make it even more easy to give out satisfactory service.

"Ah yes, you can barter food for drinks here if you want to." Ambling around in his part of the establishment while wearing a cute little bow tie was everyone's favorite bear even as he wiped down the newly furbished built-in bar side that he was now the head of, Grizzly responded to Mokou's question with an understanding tone.

It had turned out that said grizzly hadn't been blowing smoke when he said he used to run a bar and the gentle giant was seen easily mixing drinks from the various colorful bottles that now lined the walls with the eye-catching theatrics of a professional drink mixer much to the delight of the dwarves that were frequenting the establishment. O'Connell meanwhile could be seen quietly nursing a glass of rum in the corner, reminiscence on his face.

More Modernization

As a result of the Darcsens sharing their craftsmanship to the world at large, one would note that Akihabara would become somewhat more lively. Street musicians could be seen frequenting the corners, grocers and merchants lined the stalls, and a whole host of processed products were now in tentative circulation such as canned goods, clothing, and so on.

Ragnite lamps would now dot the streets and let light be about at night while the first few printing presses were now capable to manufacturing paper for the journalism or books. Speakers wired throughout the city now connected the vast area in the communications department though they were only used for alerts or drills as of this point in time.

The Lizardmen meanwhile seemed to be coming into town a lot more frequently as it had appeared that someone with alchemy under her belt had figured out what they had been most craving and thus abused the addiction to get some benefits from the tribe in question, with the Bluetails seeming to agree to send in what appeared to be limited numbers of domesticated 'Dragonlisks', the raptors being intelligent and swift of feet as well as being able to shoot out flammable globs from their mouth.

It seemed that their main purposes were to act akin to dogs in that they were used to guard territories or flush out things from hiding as well as be personal mounts for those that could bear riding their loping runs. As a result of such, the Villagers could now finally become cavalry units though the beasts were a bit high maintenance for the common man given how much exercise they needed as well as the fact they were carnivorous in nature. Still, they were loyal and cunning so they could perhaps fill in a niche if one continued to whittle away at their development.

ZX Express

Deciding to open up her own little slice of home, Aile had taken up residence in one of the buildings with a garage to act as her second base of operations outside of the boat in question. Now that primitive radios had been set up by the Darcsen people, she could use her bike to her heart's content and thus had opened up a delivery system that made use of a solar powered vehicle to zip through the city at high speeds to get to know the lay of the land as well as get paid for something she was good at.

Indulging in her speed demon tendencies while enjoying the g force that was pushing against her face from the momentum while on her latest delivery, the cyborg had by now pretty much mapped the entirety of the city's streets and could plot out the fastest way to get from point a to point b with the help of her computer processors. Also the business was a good way to mask the fact she was keeping an eye out for any potential troublemaker nests for future... cleaning.

Wastelands

"You got it, boss." The goggle wearing bandito stated with a few nods of his head even as he began cracking a whip and hollering at the group of human scums to get their asses moving with threats becoming more and more creative as his drill sarge schtick went on. Though the assembling was sloppy, the wasteland people had managed to get ready to move within a reasonable amount of time.

Entry 002 Part 5 (Lune - Adventurer's Guild)

It seemed strange minds think alike, as they both asked me if the coin design was great. I simply nodded and said, “In my opinion, it works. The design of the coin lets it stand out since it has a prominent figure on it. I give it a solid two thumbs up.”

Wendy mentioned something about a strange red sky. As I took another bite, I asked her, “So that wasn't the weather, then?”

Siluca - Outside Adventurer’s Guild -> Train Station

Siluca was well aware of where Kaga’s palace was located, and she had a rough idea where Enterprise and Oscar’s ship was set up even without hearing it from Oscar directly, though from what Lady and Oscar had said, it seemed that they were still at those places. At the same time, Hiccup, when he arrived, seemed to be under the impression that the meeting for the invasion would take place here. It was strange that these people who were to partake in this plan were not aware of specifics like this.

Siluca looked at the cart of copper coins Scrooge hauled with him with some astonishment. She did not recognize them from any of her stockpiles so it must have been the case that he minted or found them himself. She wasn’t fully aware of the activities of the other factions, but it was possible that Hiccup with his dragon mount could have informed him, as she had seen them occasionally while Siluca scouted the lands. Her colony expeditions were still likely establishing their outposts, though it wouldn’t be long before they started bringing back some material.

Likely, Scrooge was planning to propose some form of unified currency, as that seemed to be his concern from what Siluca remembered from the meeting. It would save her district some metal but it would also mean her district would need to secure some share of the distribution so that her realm could continue to function. It would be incredibly problematic if Siluca fell out of Scrooge’s favor, but in any case it would be better for her to continue her plans to mint her own currency.

“I believe this is meant to lay the groundwork for a standard currency for this city,” she said to Lady.

“If they are not here,” Siluca said to those present, “then I’ll search for them myself.” She briefly turned to Scrooge, “If they are willing I will see if I can bring them both here.”

At the same time, she wasn’t sure if she was on the best terms with Kaga or her assistant, and she hardly knew Lady Enterprise.

“Excuse me,” Siluca said, giving a bow as she departed from the general area.

Siluca then made her way to the station that stood towards the edge of the city, whose overall length stretched even further than her corner of the city. Such a complex could have served as a suitable palace though being so close to the hill of origin, this side of the city could be hotly contested.

Assuming she wasn’t stopped when she tried to enter the station, Siluca would wander in, wondering where she would find the fox-ship. This place seemed fairly large from what she could make of it.

If there was anyone around who might have been able to help her, Siluca would go up to them and ask, “Excuse me. I am Siluca Meletes of the Log Horizon district. Do you know where I could find Kaga or her assistant?”

Junko - Timeskip, God Tree

Junko’s weeks were filled with crushing hope and despair. It was not the most despairing of despairs, but there was enough of it to get through the endless boredom. From the glowing sky it looked like the end of times was coming. It actually looked like Earth after The Tragedy happened, so it reminded her of home sweet home.

But the sight of the orphans Dreadnought helped train made her want to gag. Whatever Dreadnought was doing with her training regiment was filling them with way too much hope than she would have liked, and if it weren’t for the fact she had to keep up her teacher-ly persona and not act like a deranged lunatic for more than five seconds, she probably would have complained.

If only the dragon knight had bothered to use actual death traps and off one or two of the students as an example, then maybe Junko might have been able to feel like she wasn’t going insane. Surely, this obstacle course could be improved by an actual deadly buzzsaw or something threatening to crush the kids to a pulp. Still, with Dreadnought focused so much on combat, Junko had an idea how to take advantage of this situation and she was starting to get an idea of what her fighting style might have been based on how she was teaching the kids.

During the weeks, Junko filled in some of the gaps that weren’t being taught by one of the other staff members. Typically she refrained from teaching any of the sciences cause then people would start to catch on about how much she knew about that stuff. Assuming the others weren’t filling those niches, Junko would help teach some Home Ec stuff, seeing as some of that stuff would make sense to know as the Ultimate Fashionista and she had picked up on some of the Ultimate Chef’s cooking skills.

When she wasn’t teaching class, Junko had a few things to do on her own. She might have worked with that Giovanni schmuck for a little but honestly she was getting kinda bored of that. She was able to make a bit of money from her teaching gig and doing some of the notice board chores so she was able to able to get some of those rip-off Wendy’s burgers. With all the crab around things did taste better, and Junko could have listened to Naga’s atrocious laugh all day if she wanted to. Except not really. She’d get bored of it after a while, just like literally everything else.

Oh yeah, she accidentally stumbled upon some walled off block run by that girl with the floating cape. They were basically offering free food with that communal dinner thing they were doing and Junko thought she’d nab a bite for herself. Somehow, that food was actually pretty good, but it was nowhere near Ultimate quality. Now that she thought about it, wasn’t she also that girl who mentioned that they found that mine with all the explosive magic rocks? Speaking of which, Junko thought she saw an explosion the other day and she totally needed to get a hand on some of that stuff. People were already starting to make guns so something like that wouldn’t be too far off.

But what really got Junko excited was some of the changes happening to this city. Remember those cute Pikmin that that shut-eyed goddess said hurt like fire ants? Well some idiot with way too much magical power at their fingertips decided to make them look like idol singers, some of which suspiciously resembled Maizono and her troupe.

Sometimes when Junko was off work, she would go toward the corner of the city opposite the tree, someplace where she didn’t think anyone would see her, and find some of the Pikgirls minding their own business.

And then she would eat them.

Sometimes she might try to squish them, boil them alive, or squeeze them to death, but with their adorably human and precious faces, it was sooo much easier to revel the despair they must have felt. Often they would try to swarm her, and it hurt just as much as Loki said it would and even more so, but every ounce of despair she could drink in made everything worth it.

The fact they looked so human, and the fact she could have just as well been eating her own classmates ached Junko to her very soul, but it was this dreadful guilt, agony, and despair that she lived for.

A despair upon despair upon despairing despair.

In spite of the fact she had probably been doing that for at least a week, it never got old. However, the numerous sting marks the creatures had left would obviously raise some eyebrows when she got back, so she got into the habit of wearing some gloves, even if it meant hiding her beautifully polished fingernails.

So now, Junko was at the school, watching the training regimen Dreadnought had set up. She took a glance at the notes the dragon knight had written down. Teaching those subjects would be easy enough for someone like her, but in this new world there didn’t seem to be that much reading material. Maybe she could use the literature program to teach these pupils the value of despair. During her stay at Novoselic, she vaguely remembered reading some vaguely weird and depressing literature in Sonia’s library, so maybe she could draw some inspiration from that and put some of Fukawa’s skills to use.

Adjusting her glasses, Junko said, “How goes the exercises today, Dreadnought? It seems we still have some vacancies in our curriculum.
