Also, this'll probably get me devoured, but I thought Black Panther was So Okay, It's Average. Obviously I'm not knocking its cultural significance but for a Marvel movie I thought it was pretty middle-of-the-road. I honestly liked Solo more.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Eh I'd say Solo is more So Okay, It's Average.
BP has it beat in heart, character, & story.
For instance unlike Killmonger, Dryden is pretty much not gonna be remembered much.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Okay yeah, Killmonger was a really great villain.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Dryden was, in hindsight, pretty clearly a Starter Villain setting up Qi'ra and Maul. The writers obviously didn't want to bother focusing too much on him. In fairness, I think they did a reasonably good job of that. They gave him a few elements to demonstrate his threat level (killing the regional governor, being creepy calm, etc), but for the most part he just wasn't an important part of the movie. Qi'ra also implied a few times that while she was scared of Dryden, she was terrified of the person behind him. This is one of the few films I really want to rewatch, even though I pretty much never rewatch films, just so I can watch Qi'ra more closely with knowledge of the reveal.
Black Panther pushes a lot more and aspires a lot further than Solo, but I don't see a point in ranking them since to be honest, I liked both of them a lot. I just like Black Panther a lot more.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
I mean if Infinity War and Black Panther hadn't come out this year, I would agree.
I've only seen three movies this year.
