I hear that in Japan, being booted from a project like Nomura was is a huge dishonor.
He was sort of Kicked Upstairs though
Given their workaholic culture, I could see it.
Also, in lieu of any explanation as to why Terranort stole Ansem's identity, I choose to believe that he did it so that he and the Apprentices could still use Ansem's credit card to order pizza for study sessions.

God, can you imagine trying to order pizza with Vexen in the room? I bet he'd be absolutely insufferable.
He probably likes his pizza with a pineapple topping, and will spend hours going into detail for why Canadian Bacon isn't "just ham."
Hey, leave us pineapple-topping lovers alone! He probably puts friggin' banana on his pizza or something else just as heinous...
Nah, he seems more like the type of person to berate you for hours about why frozen pizza is the best pizza.
I'm sticking to my headcanon that terrahort took "Ansem" so that he could always be known as "the wise".
Why else is Ansem the wise known as Ansem the wise? It's literally his last name.
As for Vexen, he'd probably try to get as many toppings for the one pizza that he wanted all for himself.
He'd make a pizza that can develop the toppings you want from the data you insert. The Pizza Replica Program.

So by the end of KHIII, we're pretty sure Sora's quite a bit stronger than Riku, yes? I ask because Riku was implied to be "ahead" for most of the series, in both large, plot-relevant ways like being the original intended holder of the Kingdom Key in KHI and beating his DARKNESS! while Sora didn't in 3D, and smaller touches like piloting the glider in KHII's final battle while Sora got the sidecar. But given Sora walloped Anti-Aqua, who walloped Riku and Mickey together...

Sora was just the only one who hadn't fought the optional mirror Aqua in 0.2 and thus was the only one who wasn't too afraid of her to fight well.
Sora's as strong as the plot wants him to be same with Riku.
Remember how Donald mentions how no can beat Riku in KH II despite Sora repeatedly trouncing Riku in KH 1.
I like how, between Birth by Sleep and KHIII, the supposed Keyblade Masters really donít do much of anything. Aqua inadvertently allows Xehanort to run amok by choosing to save Terra and gets herself stuck in the realm of darkness for a decade. Riku does literally nothing besides make two trips to the dark ocean and fail at saving Aqua.
Considering Sora saves Aqua by beating the crap out of her, she would have been returned to the realm of light a lot faster if everyone had just let Sora go off to help her like he had wanted to. Itís not like he needed the Power of Waking to do it in spite of everyone insisting that to be true.
The reason I asked this question was that I felt Riku has a, likely unintentional, condescending attitude toward Sora for much of KHIII that irritated me; "Out of the way, kid; Actual Keyblade Master business." Business he proceeds to get his ass kicked at and get bailed out by still-not-a-Master-still-no-Power-of-Awakening!Sora.
That's not fair to Riku. Everyone else was doing that too. Not just the actual/retired Keyblade Masters.
I feel the same. Mickey and Riku condescending to Sora was pretty rich considering they did nothing all game then Sora came in, did their jobs and bailed them out. And my opinion with regards to Sora and Riku in DDD are well documented. Not that I hate Riku or anything, mind you. He's a fine character. But it does feel like the writers like him way too much.
If anything Yen Sids teaching methods are the problem. Man can't even properly gauge training for Kairi nor Axel while leaving them in Merlins hands.
Aka Yen Sids been like the worst teacher possible when you think about it. Sora learned more due to Xehanort. And who is it who finally gives him that proper bequeathing? FUCKING XEHANORT.
When the villain who spent most of his time tormenting a kid ends up helping him more than Yen Sid.....
Nomura WAS apparently very disappointed that his ranking in the latest popularity poll was a shockingly low... fourth, behind Sora, Roxas, and Axel in that order.
People only liked Riku when he was the edgy bad boy of the group. Now that heís mellowed out and isnít constantly angsting about darkness, he doesnít have much else to go on.
Excluding any thoughts he typically has towards Sora. Kairi? He doesn't know a Kairi!
I mean all three are better and/or more likeable characters than him so
I liked Riku a lot more before Nomura started trying to tell me how special and awesome he is.
The main problem with Riku is that he had a decent character arc from KH 1 to KH 2, and then every game afterwards his character doesn't really have anywhere to go.
He had a decent character arc from KH-Co M but everything after has been a retread. Except for III but he doesn't really have a lot of character in III in general.
so before kh1?
