First off, in reference to your previous comment, don’t lump Mr. Fantastic in with Mento; at least that guy have the whole Absent Minded Scientist schtik and Wall of Text gimmick that makes him stand out as a chaacter. Plus he’s not a dickhead . . . well aside from some stellar moments from the John Bryne comics (seriously for every good shit that came out of his run of Fantastic Four, there has to be a shit moment that follows).
On your current comment, well that is a good question but it all depends on which interpretation you want to go with: the police are literally turned to piantas but retain all the pain from being maul to death or the police believe they are turned to pianta which means the whole sequence we watch was just a fantasy as the real scene was a lot more graphic.
Either way, it was the most fucked up moment in the episode.

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundEh I play a lot of Fallout, so seeing graphic subtext of cannibalism to the tune of “Hot Doggity” seems like just another side quest to me.
But again, still an amazingly fucked up scene.
Don't Judge me, need more views: https://www.deviantart.com/big-k-2011 | https://bigk1337.newgrounds.com/ | https://twitter.com/BigK64133Damn, that last episode of Doom Patrol was amazing. And as a huge Doom Patrol fan, what they did to Mento, Arani, and Rhea wasn't actually that bad. In the comics, Mento was just a huge douche (he tried to get Rita to quit being a superhero when they got married, because her "place was at home"), Arani died and was later claimed to be crazy by the Chief (even though they were actually married), and Rhea...well, if they do anything to Rhea like they did in the comics, her being old and senile won't actually matter. Going into a cocoon and turning into an alien magnetic butterfly can happen young or old.
Oh yeah, Mento was a huge dick in the comics. What little we see of his Young Justice portrayal is also a jerk. The most sympathetic version so far is his brief appearance on the Teen Titans cartoon, and even that one comes across as kind of a jerk.
Disgusted, but not surprisedThere was also that period between most of the Doom Patrol's apparant deaths and going crazy in Swamp Thing where he was kind of a wreck, still reeling from the loss of Rita. Say what you will about him, but he did love her.

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundSo is the implication supposed to be that Silas killed Victor's mother and made Victor think he did it?
Edited by windleopard on Mar 29th 2019 at 9:04:16 AM
Possibly. Though it's possible it might've been by accident.
Anyway this was more of a Breather Episode, but still pretty good. The last bits with the therapy session and Admiral Whiskers were hilarious.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundI wouldn't be surprised if Silas is resposible for the accident as in the comics but reprogrammed Vic to make him think it was his fault.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Well, this episode was a kick in the teeth. I could tell that it would be a Bottle Episode, but it was still painful, especially when we start seeing all of the backstories. Hell, even the villain of the episode, Admiral Whiskers, gets a tragic backstory. Also, I love how the villain is literally a goddamn rat named Admiral Whiskers. I didn't know that a show could be this weird and I love it so much.
Is Danny the Street an Emotion Eater in the comics?
Danny is many things. Last I read, Danny was a minor deity of the spontaneously creating life variety. Danny was also a small city (or was it an amusement park? I forget.) inside the back of an ambulance at the time. This was shortly after Danny was a single brick travelling through space with Jane.

Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireNo, Danny doesn't eat emotion. In the comics, they just enjoy it when they have people who are happy living inside them. In the show, it appears that they need people to be happy and live inside them (which they would probably put as, "People who need people are the luckiest people in the world").
But the more people they have, the more they can expand, I believe. Danny became the Doom Patrol's headquarters for a while during Morrison's run and at the end of it, Danny the Street turned into Danny the World, a paradise world for the Doom Patrol to retire to.
it was never outright said in the comics but i think it was hinted during the morrison era that danny and his dannizens (i love that name for the people who live on danny kudos show)had kind of a symbiotic relationship so i can see where the writers are coming from
" I did the right thing, didn't I? It all worked out in the end." "In the end? Nothing ends, Adrian. Nothing ever ends."Wow that was a lot of alternate selves.
The comic had even more show up if you can believe it.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundI kind of regret they didn't go full Orphan Black for this but I can understand if that would be overwhelming.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. We should probably change the title of this right?
Dear god, the "Going Underground" episode was amazing. The amount of detail they put in to each alternative self was awesome — from Driver 8 to Hammerhead to Penny Farthing. Hell, if you look at the this behind the scenes image, you can see them all. From left to right: Flit, the Secretary, Lucy Fugue, the Scarlot Harlot, ?, Silvertongue, Driller Bill, ?, karen, ?, Makeup Artist, Hammerhead, Pretty Polly, Baby Doll, and the Nun.
Well the Beard Hunter was appropriately disgusting. Perhaps too much so.
That ending was... confusing for me.
Same. Hopefully they'll explain it in the next ep or two.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundOf course the cat turned out to be not what it looks like.
And as if one MCU reference weren't enough, Dolly gets snapped.

I had tried to get into this comic, starting from Out of the Wreckage, but I couldn't get past the first couple chapters. I was mostly just confused and couldn't muster the curiosity to know what happened next. It was a tad too challenging.
This live-action show however does a good job of holding my hand as the story moves forward. I'm feeling very ambivalent about the characters, but in a very curious way.
Man, wouldn't it be fun if David Lynch directed a couple episodes? Do you think that might be a good fit?
Apologies for going off-topic, but I'm hoping this will pave the way for a live action adaptation of the parts of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure not set in Japan?
EDIT: Oh my God Negative Man looks even worse than Deadpool! What the heck is up with that?

Guys, I got a question. Who is Not-Constantine and why is he not, eh, JohnConstantine?
Also, I wanna see Constantine and Hammerhead together. Or Constantine and Jane in general. Did he cross paths with the Doom Patrol ever?

Is it weird I'm wondering whether the cops were actually turned into candy or they just thought they were?
