Nine Lives Double Standard

Why is it that when a show like family guy brutally kills of characters it's considered 'Black Comedy' but when a family movie shows an attempted tasing of a cat (Most kids wouldn't even realize how fatal tasing is for cats-this troper didn't until she was sixteen!) Is worse then hitler? And why is a family who never had a cat before mistakenly placing the food bowl next to a litter bowl a crime when other more well recieved movies get away with Soft Water, Not the Fall That Kills You… subversions so abominable? Don't you guys think it's a bit more in character for a family who only got a cat for the first time ever on a whim to goof up there? And finally, if someone criticizes a scene that's only in the trailer, usually they are not encouraged. But it seems people just go by that one 'pullup' trailer scene. There is some silver lining though, it makes it easier to figure out which people actually watched the movie. And it seems that usually fans of cartoons where Unexpectedly Dark Episodes as a badge of pride (Looks at Adventure Time and Powerpuff Girls Fans, see Chicken Run) But when this movie has a guy jump off a building (I admit that part could have been handled better, but anyway...) everyone goes, "Hey, loser, I thought you were for kids! Pick a side, moron!" I swear, I've heard this a lot, but when it's said in relation to anything but this movie, everyone gets angry "Who invited the media watchdog?" Oh, and I hope Christ Stuckmann never watches Family Guy. So, in short, I really liked Nine Lives, (And if you want to see a legitimately bad movie, see Holy Cow! A Talking Cat!) I don't think kids would be turned off by guys shooting electricity at the hero (Which is probably pretty tame compared to a lot of movie) And I have yet to see any Soccer Mom types whining about their children being traumatized. (And if there were, we would notice) Really, I think people are making a big deal of very small problems. Thank you for listening to my rant.
