It feels like a blend of Arrow and Assassin's Creed. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it seems like most of the action is "jump and shoot" and not particularly inspiring because of it. I don't mind the idea of a more "medieval urban" take on Robin Hood, but the tradition is him attacking convoys in the woods. It also seems to lack most of his traditional supporting cast.
I actually used to have a thing for Robin Hood movies....but since the Kevin Costner version (which I like even if the audience has apparently decided that everything Kevin Costner ever did is beneath them) I haven't seen a single adaptation I actually liked. I am not opposed to a more gritty take - hell, outside of the Disney movie, I got into it not through the Errol Flynn version, but through the BBC series (you know, the one who added the Arab sword fighter to the group in the first place), which already was a more gritty take on it. But it feels like they have forgotten what Robin Hood is actually about. It is about the people he protects, not about him.
Never got the why characters in this movie use modern (or whatever they are) clothing but it looks ridiculous. What? Is medieval clothing not "hype" enough for modern audiences?
In any case, I think the problem with this movies, same like with King Arthur and the Nutcracker which also bombed, is that the filmmakers are confusing known with popular. As studios are kind of desperate to have their own "extended universe", and branch recognition is an important thing nowadays because everything has to be a franchise, everything has to be well-known for people to recognize what they are going to watch (Zeus forbids they watch some new or original) they go into the public domain character.
But in any case Patrick Williams explains it better:

I really don't get the clothing...
BTW I think Georg Rockall-Schmidt (the third video) spotted the problem right on. The main issue with the film is that the creators thought young people are dumb and don't like history and can't take a medieval setting with different values. So they have what is basically Robin Hood in a modern setting, but without the modern setting.
For that matter, they could have going ALL Robin Hood in modern times, that would be interesting, but nah, too risky I guess.
Some one else notice the "bullets" in the Crusades? Jeez...

Soooo a Green Arrow movie?

Starring Taron Edgerton of Kingsman fame alongside Jamie Foxx, the new Robin Hood movie now has a trailer.
