Yeah, I just got the worst dice roll ever. Really tho, Meticulous hunters are bigger pain. Connie Lee especially.
Connie isn't meticulous. She's tenacious and mystic - sucky combo.
Wakefield and Dragon are meticulous. They also make really fun SPLAT sounds when your Maid-in-the-Mirror murders them.
Wait really? Connie isn't meticulous? I have to check again it seems...Edit: yeah, she's not meticulous...just Tenacious + Mystic...tough bastard.

Checking patchnotes after dropping the game off for a while
Oh hell yes, this is super nice. Now the followers are no longer super-fragile Too Awesome to Use-without-the-awesome.

The change to Expeditions is a good one. I'm definitely curious about scars as well.

For expeditions I pretty much always send them in pairs to get the 10 rank and guarantee success, but cult business failure chance was absolutely infuriating me and making the followers unusable on it.
"I do all the kidnapping with hired muscle because Edge Disciples are my precioussssss."
Until they get replaced with summons that do the job better and are immortal.
Summons can't do Cult Business, though (such as kidnapping random guests).
Yeah they can't. So I do without. Which is an inevitable conclusion anyway - you either don't use the mechanism or you use it, run out, and then can't use it nor use the cultists for expos. Which sucked big time.
Why do you want to kidnap/seduce people anyway? If you want sacrifice locking up hirelings is way more reliable (okay money issue, or you need those people for your aspect while you're spam-exploring, still...)...the patch seems to be more useful for those wanting to do expeds early or trying to make some emergency bucks through theft or making stuff...unless coming back injured doesn't make notoriety.
Also, is it just me, or the Lantern cult business just sucks hard? Always the risk of going insane and the Influence produced generally just have crap intensity...

Honestly I got more use out of Erudition production (for Lore wrangling) than influences.
Yeah, augury is a pretty sucky use of an action slot. Influence is easy to farm in the Mansus.
Hah, cute.◊ By the chart's questions, I'm Grail.
Hehe. I got Holy Wound. Because snek.
Dancer DLC out!
Ok, back to the game...holy crap the game throws crapton of restlessness at me, that sucks. Then my attempt to stop Weary Detective from grabbing notoriety end up getting Spencer Hobson after me...then my attempt to use Dread to drive the WD mad end up making him my rival...it's nuts, but holy crap the game pace is now much faster and excitingly nuts!
I've recently started playing the game again after getting the Dancer DLC. I haven't tried the Dancer background yet since I'm still on a Physician playthrough, but I'm hoping to ascend through Power before I try out the Dancer.
One thing that surprised me was romance being added into the game. Didn't expect that to happen, but I managed to strike up a romance with Valciane.
Sorry for the double-post, but I'm currently on my third Dancer playthrough. I'm currently going for the Heart ascension route.
The Dancer route is pretty fun. I always feel kind of strapped for cash at the beginning, but once the patrons start asking for commissions and my collection of lore increases, I never have to worry about money again.
I'm a little miffed that certain activities, such as charming to get rid of bad reputations and overcoming obstacles in expeditions, always have a chance of failure regardless of how high your attributes are. Though this is mostly because I don't like being hit by curses and racing against the clock to get the influences needed to ward them off.
Sorry for the triple post, but just wanted to remind anyone who's still playing the game that January 22 will see the release of what I assume is the Apostle Legacy, and it looks like anyone going that route will have to deal with some Long who really don't want you to finish your Great Work.
If they try to stop me...
...they're not Long for this world.
The Apostle legacy should be available today. I can't get to it yet, since I just started a new playthrough; I'll try to get the Sensation ascension, then try out the Apostle legacy.
Hopefully the Long don't kick my teeth down my throat too hard.
Sorry for the double-post.
I just completed the Major Grail Victory, AKA the victory for a Grail Apostle. Hoo boy, that was quite a ride.
The Long are real pains in the ass. Their constant assaults make an Apostle legacy quite a bit more difficult than the other legacies so far, and they get stronger as time goes on. Once they grow strong enough, they'll come directly after you...which is also when they're finally vulnerable.
I managed to fell the Long that came after me, but it was not easy. It'll cost you quite a bit to take the Long down, but it's worth it; defeating the Long means you can pursue the Great Work without fear of interference. Make no mistake though, they'll make you work for it.
