This last trailer makes me wary of Ghost's chances, which is a shame because - yeah - Ghost is a freaking cool villain that I want to see live.
Her hopped up on Quantum Realm energy and supposedly being out to take over the world might put her over what I like to call the "power line" depending on how the plot goes, a point where a villain becomes either so powerful or gain so much ambition that them not dying causes eventual fridge logic.
It always bugs me when a character crosses that line, because imo it's like One-Winged Angel as a shorthand for a villain being disposable from that point forth.
I dunno, that line "now she wants to take over the world or something" comes from Luis, with no confirmation from other characters, so I'm not sure how reliable it is. And what's more, I think they are never going to do a "saving the world" plot for the Ant-Man films.
I have the feeling that ultimately Ghost will stay close to their comic book characterisation, and the Big Bad will turn out to be someone else.

It's in the trailer, though (and is in fact the only information we have about her as of now), which means that at the moment it's exposition the audience is supposed to take as accurate, regardless of the source.
Unless the trailer is lying, of course. Which is certainly possible.

Yeah it would be quite a disappointing leap from high-tech corporate spy to Take Over the World villain
I mean, I'm expecting that entire line to not be in the actual movie, because it's too useless as exposition and too awkward to be dialogue if we already got that exposition at the point where it would show up.
But that would mean they intentionally recorded that line specifically for the trailer, as exposition, and the only reason they would do so is because that's what they want the audience to know about Ghost before walking into the movie.
I'm guessing they want to keep the circumstances of her reemergence out of the marketing material entirely. So her showing up at all might clue people into those circumstances.
So overall, I'd say maybe 50:50 chance we'll get the briefest of glimpses or have the trailers/TV spots acknowledge she shows up in the movie at all, and only a 10% chance we get the slightest bit of context for whatever glimpse they show.
A question, because I'm too lazy to go through the edit history at the moment.
On the respective character page, I see Ghost is identified as Dawn/Ghost. The Dawn name was news to me. When I googled it, I came across an article from a year back discussing new characters
, and Kamen's role is indeed identified as Dawn, which the article predicts means that she's Dawn Starr, who apparently is a character that is the daughter of the villain Egghead.
However, I'm wondering if the name Dawn might have just been a place-holder, since at the time of the article, it wasn't publicized that she was playing Ghost.
I mean it would be interesting if she actually was a composite of the two, but is there any basis for thinking that Dawn really is Ghost's civilian name in the movie?
Dawn being Ghost and the daughter of Egghead would be a nice plot point. It would even immediately explain her knowledge of and apparent willingness to track down and steal Hank's research: if Egghead was an enemy of his and Jan's from back in the day, and Dawn came for some kind of revenge only for everything to go extremely pear shaped for everybody involved, that would be pretty interesting.
I wonder if this will start with a flashback like the first Ant-Man, but this time it shows how Clint Barton (Hawkeye) recruited Scott for Team Cap in the first place and it's like:
- Scott: Oh hey, I know you! You're from the Avengers too! Arrow Guy!Clint: ...Sure, I'm Arrow Guy. And you're Scott Lang, right?Scott: That's me. What's up? I'm not getting into the Avengers, am I?Clint: Not exactly. Cap's in trouble and I'm hoping you could help out.Scott: You kidding? Teaming up with Captain America! What could happen?(Cut to black, then Opening Logo, then news report talking about "Giant Human rampaging in airport")

On further thought, they're probably more likely to do Stinger than Stature anyway, given that the Stinger costume is more obviously an offshoot of Ant-Man's costume - in the same way MCU Wasp's is.
