See here for Nightmare Fuel
, which has frequent enough problems to deserve a thread of its own.
A while ago, I made a thread for cleaning up Nightmare Fuel pages, since they tend to attract all sorts of gushing about anything vaguely unsettling, as well as violations of Example Indentation and the Spoiler Policy among other problems. Well, other Moments pages have similar issues, though to a slightly lesser extent, so they may as well have a cleanup thread too.
"Moments" reactions should:
- Be free of spoiler tags, in accordance with the Spoilers Off policy which states that:
Fridge, Headscratchers, and the various Moments subpages (Tear Jerker, Moment of Awesome, etc.) are for post-viewing discussions. Spoiler tagging there defeats the purpose of the articles. You shouldn't be going there if you are worried about them.
- Be based on things that actually have happened, not things that could happen, will happen, or might have happened. Speculation belongs only on the Wild Mass Guessing pages.
- Have affected the writer of the entry themselves. If you don't find something funny or sad, let someone who did add it to Funny Moments or Tear Jerker.
- Elicit a strong reaction. Not every single time a character accomplishes something is an Awesome Moment, not every attempt at comedy is a Funny Moment, not every time someone does something nice is a Heartwarming Moment, and not every unhappy event is a Tear Jerker.
- Explain why they're so awesome/funny/sad: Zero Context Examples aren't allowed on this wiki. Your description should allow anyone to understand your reaction.

One-example pages aren't allowed, right? Because I just found Heartwarming.Harry And His Bucket Full Of Dinosaurs, and this is the one example:
- The little routine that Harry and his mother do whenever she arrives home: "One, two, three, jump!"
Should I move this, or is it not valid/I should Cut List the page? I'm not commenting myself on validity since this is YMMV/Sugar, so I'll leave it up to everyone else.

Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallThere's no official word on this and people's opinions on this differ but I don't see anything wrong with single example moments pages if the entry is valid and not a ZCE.
Macron's notesBut that's primarily for work pages. I don't think the same applies to all work subpages.

Macron's notesWell, technically, the sugar wiki ones should not be on YMMV pages at all.
Yes, this is inconsistent but it's true.

Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallI discovered AwesomeMusic.Mario Paint (is this the right place to clean up Awesome Music examples? If not, show me the right place and I'll hastily move it there), and the majority of the examples are made by other people, with two of them commented out:
- The Evolution of Video Games
by aldofobaez is a medley of video game music throughout the years (or at least up to 2009, when the video was released), from Pac-Man to Super Mario Galaxy, all played with Mario Paint instruments.
- aldofobaez's "Legend of Zelda Super Medley
", which is exactly as it sounds: a medley of The Legend of Zelda music, from the original game to ''Twilight Princess', made in 2011 in honor of the franchise's 25th anniversary.
- Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins Star Maze
and the other remixes by TomBobBlender
. These are made in the SNES version, with no sharps and no flats.
- Toto's "Africa"
, as made in MP Composer by user Alec Britt. The rendition is surprisingly high-quality, especially for something made in the composer, with many people saying it sounds just like the original song.
This isn't really kosher, right?
There's this entry in Awesome.Runaway Brain:
- Just the first scene for the short. Mickey, who had spent many years becoming dull and boring had been reduced to a mere Straight Man even to his OWN DOG, has forgotten his anniversary with Minnie. This kind of plot is something one would see with Donald, but Mickey reacts very differently from the duck and it is hilarious. The fact that they managed to make Mickey Mouse flawed and funny again is awesome.
Funny that the prohibition of adding fan-content to moments pages was brought up pretty recently (here
), because as far as I'm aware, Staff-Created Fan Work is still fanwork (and thus shouldn't be on the original work's moment pages), right?
This example exists at the bottom of Funny.Bo Boi Boy under an "Others" header:
- Nanka No BoBoiBoy
by one of Monsta comic artist named Ariieya Senpie. The animation is about BoBoiBoy have weird dream about his Elemental Form shenanigans. The animation ended the titular hero wake up at 3 A.M and wondering about his dream. Poor Boi can't get a nice sleep thanks to his Elemental Form messing his head.
Does the reveal of Rohan Kishibe at the end of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The JOJOLands's second chapter count as a Shocking Moment? Looking at comments about the chapter, it sounds like lots of people were shocked by the reveal, but there's a lot of speculation, and it's not clear exactly who or what the character is, so it might be too early to add.
Another one from TearJerker.Bluey that's influenced by the infamous "miscarriage theory". Should I cut parts of it out, or just remove it?:
- In "The Show", during the titular show, the blue balloon the girls are using to represent unborn Bluey pops. Chilli's smile fades, Bandit silently takes her hand, and for a moment, everything is just a little too tense to be as simple as two parents worrying their kid is going to be upset. The prevailing theory is that at some point, Chilli had a miscarriage.
Theories unconfirmed by Word of God or at least Word of Saint Paul are cut-on-sight.
From TearJerker.RWBY
- It's arguably made worse in retrospect, once Jaune's semblance is actually revealed. His ability to enhance the Aura and abilities of others would have allowed Pyrrha to unleash greater level of Ferrokenetic ability than she had before, recharged her Aura and even healed her wounds, such as the arrow straight to her heel that set her up for Cinder's killing blow. Far from being a liability that Pyrrha had to keep away from the fighting, Jaune's presence could have made all the difference between her death or survival, especially since he did unlock his Semblance the next time the heroes faced Cinder, but by refusing to fight together and not trusting Jaune enough to be capable of protecting himself, Pyrrha sealed her own fate. It's never elaborated if Jaune has since realised this, but given his feelings of inadequacy for the task faced by everybody, realising he was denied the chance to make a meaningful difference to events because of how weak others perceived him to be would only make him feel worse.
Is this Fridge rather than a Moment?
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Never seen a style of example writing in a moments page like Funny.Unda Vosari. Does it need a look?

I agree with it being removed because the example hinges on whether or not the boss is defeated in the game.
