With Kiri
"You are probably right. She is so much more than some divine object in the sky." Medaglia agreed with Kiri - for all the wrong reasons, it seemed. "But if us mortals stopped whenever we were about to reach what was perceived as impossible back then, we would never get anywhere, would we?"
Garden-duel
Nala looked up from her notes to give Cormac a brief smile. "A duel between one of the Evocation students and a Necromancy student unless I'm missing my mark. Looks like they have some form of barrier to keep anyone from being hurt and to act as a scoreboard."
Jerry landed on her shoulder and hooted.
"Hmm? What? No, they're featherfolk, not just larger birds, we've been over this."
-dramatic music ensues-Dora nodded at the figure who was approaching the two and curtseyed slightly.
"I am Thallasadora," she introduced. "Of the Divination college. A pleasure." She put a hand under her chin. "She was certainly impressive. I'm eager to meet Lady Mireena for myself. If she would allow it, of course."
Dora blinked and looked at the woman nodding softly.
"Of course," she replied, nodding and looking towards the grouped up students. "It's perfectly fine. You're not bothering me. I'm just trying to relax. I've been carrying these bags so long that I'm exhausted. I never had to worry about so many supplies where I lived."
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither."I wish I was ah, actually good at barding." Kendrix commented. "It's a really great hobby. You can do it all casually, but there's also a whole collaborative community to it."
She sneered over at the duel going on over in the courtyard. That was different. "It's all a product of, like, us too. Mortals. I feel like magic's more special because it's a gift from Lady Mireena. Not to be used in that same way. It bothers me to see people just holding duels over it. Using something so important for their pride, and stuff."
THE DUELING CLUB
Temple had left the store with two new skeletons, a raven's and an iguana. He wanted to buy something, well, bigger. Unfortunately, he couldn't find a gorilla skeleton that he could afford.
"You know," He said as he jingled his bag of bones, "perhaps you could find a, say, bigger body? Be really cool." He had been prattling on for a while, before he suddenly looked up at the explosion of light. His mouth curved into a smile as, using his shovel, he managed to make his way to the front of the crowd, looking on and letting out an almost bark of excitement as the skeleton hand formed.
"Can you teach me that?" He asked Tom before watching the young girl go flying back. He stared at the Dragonborne with awe, cupping his hands to his mouth. "TEACH ME HOW TO USE YOUR BONY HANDS!"
Good to be back13th hour, Garden of Spirits: Duel Club
"...How would one join the club?" Nyxus asked, turning to face the person currently talking about the duels. "And where will the duels be held?"
If the one against Kallian will be held on their grounds, that may be an issue. The last thing I want to do is to anger Rozel again, or deprive the team of a potential player because of the consequences of my actions...
garden of spirits duel
Erin, after flying around the garden for a bit, decided to land under the tree with the elf with the owl and the guy who had been drawing strange symbols on the wall."Um, hello? Mind if I sit next to you guys?"
I used to plug my deviantart here but turns out the link was too long.Garden of Spirits - Eura
"B-but it's private!" squawked Eura, clutching her diary to her chest protectively while blushing a deep crimson. Not the best arguement, but she was maybe panicking right now.
"I-it's not meant for public consumption! I DON'T HAVE EDITORS YET."
....And then just to make things even more awkward, someone fell from a tree.
Eura shrieked yet again before noticing that the boy who fell wasn't moving.
Heart hammering wildly, the girl knelt down next to him. "By the Red Lady! A-are y'all alright?! Does it hurt?! Oh, no, should we call someone? Do you reckon it'll get worse if we try to carry him to a healer or...?"
Garden of Spirits - Duelling Club
"Joinin's easy as pie, sugah." The one who replied wasn't the random student but the redhead necromancer, who had walked up to Nyxus's location at some point.
It seemed the duel had ended, and the magic fence had been dissipated. The crowd was scattering except for a small cluster of guys (and a girl) who had stayed back a few feet behind the girl.
The young man that she had been duelling was also surrounded by a small group of people as he spoke animatedly with Professor Yorrick on the other side of what had been the duel field.
The half-elf smiled. "Just talk to dear Professor Yoyo and he'll handle all the paperwork, y'know? I don't think we're open to recruits yet, though, but wait a week or so."
The girl was tall and solidly built, even while wearing robes it was clear she was in great shape, even muscular. Her dark, tanned skin contrasted with her flaming red hair and bright green eyes. Her left ear was pierced with three looping earrings made from bone. Her accent was a hint of Artinian mixed with something that Nyctus would recognize as Kallianite.
"As for the venue, why, we'll be down at the capital. Sedura itself, ain't that somethin. Never been there myself, but I heard it was mighty pretty."
She then turned to look at Temple and smiled wider.
"And don't think I didn't hear y'all screamin earlier. I'm not much of a teacher, but I'm always happy to study with fellow Necromancers. I'm Eris, by the way. Eris Cress, second year."
She jabbed a thumb behind her. "The big ox earlier is my friend Gaston Caciatore. He doesn't always think things through, but he's an alright guy."
"Tom" once more roused from his usual "ignore Temple" mood.
"Oooh, thissss one has a lot of talenttt. The genuine feeeeel of a soullll matched to necromancyyy. You! Boy! You are rrrrright in asking her help. SQUUEZE HER DRY OF KNOWLEDGE. Courtttt her if you have to, or whatever you mortalsss do."
Garden of Spirits - Dora
The woman smiled and sat next to Dora, daintily folding her hand on her lap atop the harp.
"Thank you very much. And, well, the troubles of not having a dorm yet. I can carry them for you, if you wish. Drop them off. We teachers already know where you first years will be staying. Ah, oh, where are my manners...."
She flushed slightly.
"Hmmm...for now, I'm Professor Skaya. It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Thalassadora."

"There's a fight going on?" Elodie asked before following Kendrix's gaze to the fight that looks like a weak fireworks display.
"Shit, I dunno, maybe they're playing around, all fun and games?" Elodie tried to reason. Of course, she was a bit biased since she was a little rough kid herself back when she was a kid. Hell, she even occasionally picks fights every now and then. "I mean, I know that you're a squire and I don't know anything yet but how would one know if Mireena's disapproved of that?"

“Aye, aye, aye, not so loud,” Alvurac groaned, rolling away from Eura so he was on his back and sitting up with bleary eyes, rubbing his ear. “M'fine, just sleepy. Trust me, I've fallen from heights bigger than that.”
Remembering the etiquette that the Ro had practically hammer-drilled into him, he groaned, sticking out his hand to the girl that woke him up.
“Sorry for scaring you or whatever. I'm Alvurac Ro.”
At least he hadn't yawned this time. He was pretty sure some of his school papers had spelt his name with three extra syllables for that exact reason.

borkGarden of Spirits, Eura Dia & Ro
Dia squinted again, her eyes half closed, she looks in awe at Eura's panic, she rubs the back of her hear.
"Woah, seriously, cool it, nothin's gonna happen because I looked at it you know. " Machina chuckled as she turned her head towards Alvurac and sighed. "See? You should really calm down girl, the guy's gonna be just fine" The girl sighed and held out her hand. "Name's Dia Maxwell Machina, nice to meet you both, you're both first years here right?" Maxwell said as she looked at the scenery again, spinning the pen in her hand, seems she was thinking about something at the same time she made conversation with Ro and Eura.
"That Lady Mireena would allow such a display on her property suggests to me that she might be alright with it." Kendrix said, putting one hand on her chin. Shit, she wasn't about to go against what was effectively a divine decree, from a certain perspective. "To demonstrate magic like that isn't problematic on its own..." Kendrix sighed. "No more than appreciating the gift of the natural world for a nature deity, for instance. Damn. Hm. I think my problem is specifically with the idea of demonstrating one's superiority through magical combat but that might not be the case there—"
Kendrix cut herself off before she continued on. "I'd need to go closer to assess their character. Perhaps I should meet their leader myself. I wonder how many of these groups there are on campus; maybe there's a barding group too!"
Kiri and Medaglia
Kiri was positively weirded out by Medaglia's tone and his goals. Now he was seeking either an out to their conversation or a way to maybe bring in someone else that the odd featherfolk could focus on and bother with his eccentricity. Perhaps fittingly enough, his sought-for salvation seemed to arrive at the sight of Lady Mireena herself, donning the human form that she had abandoned her draconic nature for, which also made him his lovely breakfast while he watched. "I mean, maybe. Why don't you ask Lady Mireena over there, under that tree? Pretty sure she and Lady Irida know each other well..."

"Thanks for the information," Nyxus responded, his surprise at one of the duelists answering his questions (and in an accent that seemed vaguely Kallianite) fading to relief that he had a shot, even if he had to wait a week. "And the name's Nyxus Aster. A pleasure to meet you, Eris."
Duel Grounds
Asher tapped a finger on his chin, thinking, before turning towards Eris. "Honestly, it does indeed sound like a fun time. I might jus' join, see how my potions fair in combat. After all, magic deserves practical usage as well as research." He curled a bit of his hair as his tail swished.
"And perhaps I could ask someone as talented as you for advice concerning Necromancy? I quite fancy myself a seeker of knowledge, so I'd like to gather information from more'n jus' the teachers."
Garden
Jerry fluttered to Nala's other shoulder as Erin approached, letting out a nervous "coo".
Nala rolled her eyes. "I told you, it'll be fine." She looked over at the other girl. "No problem at all, Cormac and I are gentle souls. Although if you two don't mind I'm going to have to go find out what I have to do to join."
Without waiting for a response Nala strode off towards the group gathering around Eris. "Pardon me, is this where I sign up for the duel club? The demonstration was quite fascinating."

"... Hmph. That was... entertaining, I do say."
Concettina tottered on her feet a bit, impatiently. When's the actual orientation going to start, she wondered... WAIT! She knew one question that desperately needed answering... She began to run right to this "Eris" girl, determined...
"You! Do you know if there's a proper theatre program here??"

"Huh. I was asleep during most of it, either that or trying to wake myself up by flying round the garden. Man, diurnal lifestyle is hard."Erin turned to what she thought was the druid guy.
"So, what brings you to this school?"

"I do not see why not." Medaglia shrugged slightly. "She appears to be quite sociable. Ashamedly, I know little of her, but with time we shall likely uncover more about her."
Now
"I would not dare bother her. Such pleasantries are barred from me." He replied with a shake of his head. "However, I see that you grow uncomfortable in my presence. Apologies; I have found myself inflicting such feelings upon many whom I talk to. Please accept my words of apology. With that, I shall bid you farewell." And thus he left with one more nod of his head, letting Kiri escape from social interaction for the time being as he seeked out someone else to talk to for now.
Garden of Spirits - Eura
Eura blushed harder, standing up from her kneeling position with a high pitched whining sound. Ah, there's her excellent people skills again.
Hiding her face behind her diary, she tried to stumble out an apology.
"O-oh, I'm so sorry! I...panicked. I'm not good at....people."
A sigh.
"And yes, I'm a first year. It's a pleasure to meet y'all. My name is Eura. Euranasia Iefkos, from the College of Evocation."
Garden of Spirits - Duelling Club
"One at a time, one at a time! This gal's weak to swarmin'!" Eris said with a laugh, waving a hand forward at the crowd.
First, she grinned at Asher. "Like I said, I'm not the best teacher, but I'm always game for studyin' together. And really, it ain't just talent. I work pretty dang hard too!"
Then, at Concettina. "I reckon we do have a theatre club but I dunno who's in it or who's in charge, dahling. Better ask around, but I can help if ye want it."
Eris turned to look at Nala and her grin widened. "Why, I'll be! A Necromancer elf, eh? I'm thinkin' we'll have a lot to talk about. As for joinin' like I said, ya gotta wait for the club recruitment next week. Just look for our booth, or talk to Professor Yorrick." She pointed at the dragonborn, still talking to Gaston.
Finally, the half-elf looked at Nyxus and her smile faltered. Her foot started tapping the ground, and one hand began scratching the back of her head.
When she next spoke, it was in flawless Kallianite-Elven.
"<....Hmmm. So you're the person Lord Rozel was such in a mood about. Even Lord Vardi was agitated, almost sent us out.>"
She didn't elaborate on who "us" was. Then again, she mentioned Vardi. It was fairly obvious for a Kallianite.
"<Personally, I think exiling you was unfair. You made a mistake, and you already paid for it. Magic...magic has a price.>"
She nodded.
"<Technically, you're a fugitive, and I should take you. Buuuut, we're not in Kallian are we? What's more, you're a schoolmate. So.>"
Eris patted him on the back (she didn't seem to notice that it was pretty hard, oww).
"<If you need a friend, come find me! I'll have your back!>"
Dora smiled and nodded.
"I would like that," she told him. She was very curious about this whole situation. She had only ever read about dragons. But this would be the first time she would not only meet one face to face, but get to speak to one.
Dora's eyes widened and she smiled.
"You would do that? Thank you very much, Miss Skaya," she told her. "It would certainly help quite a bit. By any chance do you think you could let me know where I might be staying?"
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Garden of Spirits
Alvurac sighed, flopping back down onto his back with his arms behind his head, staring up at the branches of the tree above them.
“S'alright, it was rude of me to just drop in like that. Oh look, I made a joke. Fantastic,” he muttered drolly, before shifting his attention to Dia's question.
“Yeah, I'm a first year too, College of Abjuration. Reluctantly. But hey, what can you do? Much easier to just suck it up and go anyway,” he said nonchalantly, somehow shrugging even though he was laying on his back.
“And, er... Euranasio... Euranosiac... Eura, I completely understand. Journals are private. Not a lot of people respect that,” he stated in a suddenly serious tone, quickly snatching his notepad from next to him and shoving it into the inside pocket of his parka.
borkWell, Elodie thought, she certainly does not expect Kendrix to be swayed that easily. Not that it's a bad thing but Elodie figured that Kendrix was one of those stubborn knight types, hyperfocused on their own ideology.
"And if they don't have a barding group," Elodie answered. "Maybe we can make our own. Or make our own, regardless, for the sake of competition. By the way, where's that bird of yours?"
http://www.last.fm/user/sgtpendulum Yo, check out what I'm listening, it'll be heat, brah :^)"Thurston's around." Kendrix said with a shrug, angling her head up to look for her bird. "He often ranges a lot further than other familiars. He's a smart boy, and I don't worry." After a short search she pointed to the shape wheeling around in the sky, and Thurston gave out a loud grunt. "I wonder if we're allowed to use familiars in duels. Or barding. Thurston can't really sing, but his vocalizations are certainly... interesting..."

GARDEN OF LMAO
"... A duel club," Concettina mused. She thought about this for a brief moment, putting a finger to her chin. After a moment, something went ding in her head. Must be like fencing...
"Oh, so it's, like fencing, or jousting. I see... Well, as long as it's controlled, I guess it's not too bad."
