Well, chemistry is applied electromagnetism, and we're pretty good at shooting people with bullets and blowing them up with bombs. Not all possible applications of a scientific field are equally practical in all situations. As a reminder, we can also apply the strong and weak nuclear forces to make fusion bombs.
The applications of gravity control are endless, but it all depends on how the phenomenon works, if we ever figure it out, if it's possible at all. This is why I'm tossing around the crazy ideas, because they're exactly as valid as the more mundane ones until/unless we see some real science on the subject.
