I think you guys are vastly overestimating the amount of fans that are "just" here for the EU.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."The rifle-wielding green-clad black female member of the crew is Sana Starros who also dresses in a similar color scheme and wields a similar weapon in the new Marvel comics.
Not really. "A lot of fans" is pretty vague. There's millions of fans. Even .1% of fans would be a lot of fans.
On this though. Did we get a heist style story in legends, sure X Wing Wraith Squadron was constantly Oceans Elevening it up but fitting so neatly in the time line it was interesting to see how it was going to get there and how far the insanity would go for trained soldiers like Wedge in an unconventional outfit.
One of the last Legends novels released was scoundrels by Timothy Zahn which featured Han and Chewie teaming up with a few others including Lando. I haven't read it so I don't know what the plot is.

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise?Every new trailer makes me crankier that we’re getting this ... thing... instead of a Donald Glover Lando film ;_;
Honestly, I think at this point, my expectations for this film are so low, anything short of a complete and utter trainwreck would probably satisfy at least some expectations. The trailers show plenty of footage, but do a poor job, in my opinion, in generating enthusiasm for the film, or really justifying the film's existence.
In any case, it's a month away from release and we'll have to see if this is any good. What we're going to see is probably finished at this point, so we'll find out one way or another if this exceeds our expectations.

"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."And what if it's successful?
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.Well, it'll definitely make money.
"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."Making films is always a huge gamble,no matter the property so I'm not surprised by the apprehension to this film

New theme music also a boxTo answer your question more directly, Luigi, if the film turns out to be good, or even great, I'll be pleasantly surprised, and admit that I was wrong.
"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."OK then.
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy. You'd think it'd be the other way around given they've made so much money and cemented themselves in the public consciousness.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!You're cherrypicking. Read the next one from me. "A lot" doesn't mean the majority. I'm not talking proportions, just sheer numbers. There's millions of fans. Even a tenth of one percent counts as "a lot."

I really don't see the point of that then because that still means that a lot of people like the movies, so then it's not really YMMV as the statement "a lot of fans" implies.
Saying "a lot" gives a false impression.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!360 Solo trailer. (The 360 part starts more after 40 seconds.)
I didn’t think they would put that moment in a trailer.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Oh wow, so we actually see Han winning the Falcon in a sabaac game.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.That video is crashing my servers.

Yeah, have to agree with Soble here. Saying "a lot" is vague and misleading. Yes, 1/10th of a percent of millions of fans is "a lot" compared to, say, the hardcore, non-ironic fans of Solarbabies, but it's not "a lot" compared to the totality of Star Wars fans.

I get it. I already backed off that. Fucking idiot = me, moving on.
Who here is actually hyped for this movie? We knew it was coming, but it honestly slipped under my radar until a couple months before release. Did anybody else keep track of this before?
I've been keeping up with the publicity surrounding the movie, but actual interest has been so-so on my part. Rogue One appealed to me more than the sequels did, so I'm keeping an open mind about Solo.
"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."I'll watch the reviews and see if it's worthwhile. If it is, I might catch it in theater. Or DVD.
I'd honestly be pretty surprised if it gets below a 60 on RT.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."It took Disney a mere two movies to pretty much ruin the franchise; I can't see what further damage they can do.
Your momma's so dumb she thinks oral sex means talking dirty.
That’s something that has been extremely ill supported since Disney took over, what little there has been has not been well received to say the least. And something that has been basically been driving away a hell of a lot of fans.

I can’t say that I ever wanted to know about the origins of Han Solo, his background and Noodle Incidents made me not want to know let alone not wanting to see it romanticized in a Heist Film. It really ruins his arc to see him like in the trailer.
