Hey there everyone. I've been throwing around this roleplay idea for a long time. Need to see if there's any interest for it.

So what's this all about?

There was once an evil multiversal god who decided to destroy every single universe out there. To stop him, a benevolent being recruited heroes and villains from all over the multiverse. Together, these warriors traveled across other worlds, collecting weapons and artifacts capable of helping them destroy the evil god, all with the promise of eventually returning home once everything was said and done. After struggle, heartbreak and loss, they managed to kill the god, leaving his planet-sized body to drift in the crossroads of the multiverse.

And then nothing happened. Soon enough, the warriors realized the supposedly benevolent being wasn't going to keep its word. And if it was up to said being, they were never going to get home.

Stripped of their resources, some of them tried to go back the long way round, some of them tried to find the god and force it to keep its word, some of them worked on making sure the others had food, light, a place to sleep, all in the evil god's surprisingly nutrient-filled body. Time passed, and still no way home was revealed. But through rifts in the multiverse, vagrants and other rejects joined them. Shopkeepers, artisans, farmers, all of them uniting under a budding new society with new rules, new beliefs, new objectives. Their shelter became homes. Their homes became a village. Their village became a city.

Thirty years have passed, and life under the Purple Sun is about to change. A new generation of warriors (a combination of the children of the previous warriors', the city's occupants and warriors from across the multiverse who have been suddenly been brought in by a mysterious force) must arise not only to save the multiverse, but also to save it's last hope: The City at the Center of the Multiverse.

So how's it going to work?

I want to encourage as much mixing and match as possible. Do you want to sign up as the child of two characters from completely different worlds? Go right ahead. Do you want to sign up as an OC from a random world who eventually came to live in the City? Can't wait to read it. Or maybe do you just want to sign up as a normal character, like other crossover R Ps? No problem.

But I also want to engage everyone in some great collective worldbuilding. Not only will you be able to sign up as your character, but you'll also be able to 'sign up' as a character from the original group of warriors (the 'first' crossover RP, metaphorically speaking) and then decide what happened to that character and how they influenced the city. Maybe they're just a random shopkeeper, maybe they're the mayor, maybe they started a major religion, maybe they didn't want to live in the city and just decided to roam the multiverse? It's all up to you.

My intention with this kind of story is to not only provide a different kind of sandbox for us to play on- whilst I'm not excluding visiting other worlds, I want most of the action to take place in the or involving the City and its citizens- but also try to do a different kind of story- while I'll be drawing from some elements you'd find in crossover R Ps, I'll try to use them in an unexpected context.

It sounds so complicated. Can I really join this?

Well, no, because we're not open yet (rimshot). But I want to involve both newbie and veteran players. It will demand a bit more of you than a normal crossover RP, but I feel like everyone has the potential to not just meet, but also exceed said demands. It's all a matter of helping each other, and that's why the collective worldbuilding is such an essential part of this idea.

In terms of pace, this would not be a fast RP. Not just because I imagine we'd have a sizable cast, but also because I'm a firm believer on having one new page filled with incredible posts instead of five new pages with small, inconsequential posts. Again, don't feel like you'd have to write an odyssey for each post, but instead, see it as having more time to dedicate to each of your character's actions.

In terms of the action, I'm basing this on my experience G Ming for large casts with lots of separate groups. I found that the thing that works best is to give each group the chance to have their own distinct adventure, whilst not stopping said adventures from interfering or stumbling on each other.

Alright. I wanna join. What should I do?

Right now? Just tell me you're interested.

Then we'll see.

I've got an idea for this, and am definitely interested.

The two major ideas I have bouncing around are a 35 year old Hans and a younger, nuclear-themed anti-hero Ryan Brady aka Collateral.

I'm moderately interested.

I still don't think I'm in any state or mood to be playing canon characters again, but if I can play an OC then that's tempting.

I can see we've got some interest. Good. I'd like to get some brainstorming/worldbuilding going by launching a few questions.

  • Which characters made up the original group of warriors? (Keep in mind you can suggest as many characters as you want, and since this is the part of the RP we won't get to play, standard limitations don't apply. HOWEVER, if your intention is to play one of these in the present, then limit yourself to only one character whilst keeping in mind the usual power limits.)
  • What were their relationships? (Don't think just 'I wanna suggest this character because they're cool', think 'I wanna suggest this character because they'd be a nice contrast to another player's character, or fill an interesting role within the group'.)
  • What were their reactions to finding out about the multiverse? (Did they want to get home as soon as possible, or were they interested in finding out more about what's out there?)
  • Once the god was defeated, what did they do? (Did they try and find the 'benevolent' being who brought them together? Did they try to find a way out? How long until they decided to settle down? And did they decide to settle down?)
  • Was the city built on the evil god's body or on a nearby planet? (I may have made this suggestion purely for aesthetic reasons, but if we all like it, let's try and come up with ways this god's body could have provided the necessary natural resources for a society to emerge.)

On the next round, we'll discuss the City itself, the way it works, the people who live in it, among other subjects.

Giant space corpse city, definitely (big enough to have an atmosphere). Give it a body structure like most vertebrates: nerves are made of iron and gold, teeth and bones serve as quarries, stomach to dissolve waste, veins serve as waterways (navigated by submarines) once they hook up up a giant pacemaker to force its heart to beat, and some of them are working on getting a similar electrical network in the dead god's brain so they can move its limbs around.

My idea is to play Asriel Dreemurr, but he came to the multiverse as Flowey the Flower and during traveling and fighting against the evil god he collected the souls of those who died until he regained his old form.

Is this something i'm allowed to do?

[up] That is a disturbing and awesome idea.

[up][up] That seems like a lot of stuff they won't need. What about water?

[up] I don't know enough about his old form to say yes or no. Plus, it would require other characters to die before the evil god, right?

An idea I have- which is related to my avatar, what can I say, I'm an obvious man- is that one of the original warriors was Envy from Fullmetal Alchemist. They were pretty much a pain in the ass to work with, but they tagged along only because they were promised safe passage home at the end. When said passage didn't come, he killed maybe two of the original warriors as a way of 'making them pay', only for the rest of the warriors to not just restrain him deep underneath the city, but also use hook up his Stone to their rudimentary electricity grid, using his lifeforce as a source of energy whilst still keeping him sedated on the city's dungeons, far away from anyone he could hurt.

For my part in the game, I'm tempted to 'bring back' none other than Vezon, the first character I ever RP-ed. He may or may not also be the same Vezon as previously played in one of multiple places I've played as him. Of course, I wouldn't actually be PLAYING as him, but I'll get to that right after this TLDR:

As far as true canon goes, he was created when the mystic Spear of Fusion misfired on a guy, and split off a clone of the guy that embodied all his cunning, and none of his sanity. After many misadventures, he managed to get the Great Mask of Dimensional Gateways fused to his face, making him a walking portal, and thus discovering the multiverse at large

Eventually, naturally, he'd have come to the place under the Purple Sun, and found himself unable to leave, only teleport spam to different spots in this dimension. I think he might try to get along with Flowey, or at least show special interest in him, since he'd empathise with being a deformed fragment of someone's true self- a mistake of nature created by a fluke. If he'd been through this crossover thing before (Either in A Game of Gods, or the MMFRPG, or some Tumblr RP blogs) he might have been able to provide some insight as the voice of experience for other players. Otherwise, he'd slot into his traditional role of a wild card, behaving just as randomly and dangerously as you might expect of Deadpool and Gollum combined.

Once the giant was dead, he'd definitely freak out about not being able to explore all realities again. Still, he wouldn't have a problem settling down on a giant person, since his homeworld was also a robot the size of the moon with people living in it. He wouldn't have a problem with his new home being a corpse because, well, y'know, he's mental. Several years pass of him getting into mischief and irritating people, but eventually he notices the others doing weird things...like making families, having children...something completely alien to this biomechanical nutter.

That's when he decides to do something drastic. At some point or another, he got hold of his old Spear of Fusion, and using it, he decides to make children of his own, the only way he can understand. In one final act of mad stupidity, he disperses his entire being, recombining himself with de-fused fragments of six other characters. Each one retaining aspects of both himself and the others, eventually gaining their own personas. For the sake of simplicity, I'll stick to one as my main, with all the others being NPC's going their separate ways.

Okay, so I might have gotten carried away just now.

Right, I have an idea kicking around for a child of the original group, so I'll scribble down what I have for their potential parents before I head to bed:

  • Guzma, from post-game Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Former leader of Team Skull, a (largely ineffectual) gang of hoodlums. Pokémon Trainer. Ya boi.
  • Having just disbanded his old gang as an act of reformation, Guzma found himself returning to his roots and once more taking on the role as leader once it became clear that their interdimensional group a) had too many folks that were evil, or crazy, or crazy evil, and b) weren't going to get home for a while: cause hey, nothing says redemption like 'doing the same thing but not bad this time'. Fortunately his cadre of very buff bug monsters helped to keep the more unstable members at bay, cause Guzma's like 20-something and doesn't have superpowers. Once the city had been formed, and a more solid political structure was required, he bequeathed the role onto someone more willing to make and follow the rules. He may have turned a new leaf, but that didn't make him some rule-following pansy. (Anyone is free to suggest a character that he would've passed the torch to).
  • Guzma couldn't care less about the multiverse. It already nearly messed up his hometown once, he wasn't gonna deal with it again unless he had to.
  • While initially he desired to find the 'benevolent being' and give them a solid piece of his mind, Guzma's motivation began to taper when it became clear that the being had no intention of being found. Some left to pursue a potential way home, but those that remained needed someone to immediately take the reigns, at least until they were settled in their new city. Thus, Guzma stayed, playing leader until the city was established. He still has an underlying desire to return home, but it's become buried now that he's much older and has a kid.

  • Akane Owari, from pre-game Super Danganronpa 2. Cause post-game is a spoilertastic hell of a thing to work with.
  • Not one for hard work, Akane was a hard sell on the whole 'please save the multiverse' deal- at least until it was pointed out to her that beating up a god would be the Coolest Thing Ever. Upon defeating them (spoilers: it was, in fact, super cool) and then not being returned to whence she came, she found herself with a dilemma: she wanted to go home, obviously, but the long way would take a hell of a lot of work. Thus she found a compromise, and to this day she's still helping field expeditions to nearby planets in the hopes of finding something that'll shorten the distance from Point A to Point B.
  • Much like Guzma, Akane has a strong disinterest in the concept of the multi-verse. Already a lackadaisical person, she doesn't hold interest in any of the new people and worlds that she's only going to leave anyway (besides their varied, delicious cuisines of course).
  • As stated above, Akane refused to settle down. She just wanted to get back home- because, unknown to most, she has seven siblings that she's responsible for. She's gotta keep them fed, yo. She's spent most of the three decades on information-gathering expeditions, only stopping back in the city to report what they've found and to indulge in basic pleasures: food, sport, and- well, the sort of thing that eventually ended up with her bearing a child. One that she's, perhaps, not as dedicated to as her existing family.

Also, regardless of whether we pick planet or corpse (I'm leaning more towards corpse because that's pretty dang cool) I like the idea of a regular scavenger party being sent to the other location to harvest supplies.

[up][up][up] If you mean Flowey, he can absorb the SOU Ls of dead humans and if you mean Asriel, the power of seven human SOU Ls are supposedly that of a god's with infinite attack and defense, but will be nerfed accordingly for the game. Other then that, I can't see any other abilities he's shown that's too outlandish. Except Hyper Goner, i'm just dumping that.

For characters to die before the evil god, you did say everyone "traveled across other worlds, collecting weapons and artifacts". I assume that comes with it's own share of hazards, right?

One of the characters I would use would be an older version of Hans Schultz from Do NA, at about thirty five years old - he's developed his powers very finely, and is one of those who fought against the evil god in the past. He tries not to involve himself with the other champions of the war for reasons related to his past with them. He desperately misses his home universe. Hans is a dad in this reality, but is raising the two kids alone. His wife "just...left, one day."

The other is young, angry Ryan Brady - the hero formerly known as Atomix, now known in his home universe as Collateral due to his destructive powers. Despite his temper and dark age / almost Liefeldian look, inside he is considerably nicer than what he shows - in part to keep people away. This is because his powers are tremendous and dangerous - he is basically a living nuke, and for that reason he has to be utterly careful deploying his powers for fear of fallout. He is a new arrival, and his arrival was quite...destructive.

I've decided that my main player character is going to be the daughter of two of the original heroes, Satsuki Kiryuin and Caesar Zeppeli.

I'm still working out the details, but I'm fairly sure that both of them would have been proponents of trying to get home, but once it became clear they were stuck, Satsuki would have gravitated towards a leadership position in the city.

@Lizard: So your current gen character would be a fusion of Vezon and six other characters from the original group of warriors? I like the idea. I just wanna see how unique you can make all those six characters. Why not go with a smaller number, allowing you to better develop each of the fragments?

@whizzerd: I like Akane, especially because it fills a position we're going to be needing, that of the character meant to connect the City to other worlds in the dimension under the Purple Sun, especially seeing as the dead god might not have all of the resources needed. That and the idea of there being a current gen character who's been abandoning by one of the supposedly 'great' warriors is super alluring to me.

@goldenshark: Yes, but that also entails either you coming up with NP Cs just to die or finding a player willing to let their 'original generation' character die, which are both okay. The problem here is that if Asriel has the power of a god, my instinct is not to nerf it, but rather to ask you to present to me an alternate solution- cause 'god with infinite attack and defense' just isn't going to fly, y'know?

@Nick: I'm tending more towards Hans, partly because nuke powers are kind of a mess when it comes to dealing with them mechanically, and partly because I just can't help but love our big dumb not-German boy.

@Chabal: Okay, that all sounds good. Here are my ideas for the planet. Everyone, feel free to pitch your own ideas:

  • It's planet sized but not perfectly planet shaped. That is to say that whilst it has the form of an oblate, the lower parts of the planet do not exist (since the god's body never really formed a perfect circle) and as such, if one were to fly all the way down there, they'd find a perfect path into the core of the planet... which was once the evil god's heart.
  • This exposed planet core, coupled with the effects of the Purple Sun's radiation, has turned the evil god's skin into a mushy mixture that feels, looks and acts a lot like dirt. But that's the only thing remotely Earth-like in the planet: the vegetation's usual color is red (leaning towards orange), whilst the sky is either a deep purple (day) or an endless void (night).
  • There are several levels of veins under the dirt. The ones closest to the top still pump blood to and fro. The deeper ones actually pump water. Strangely enough, the water tastes like blood and the blood tastes like water.

@Little Mako: Would she be interested more in a leadership position within the group or within the city? Cause one's group leader, the other's Mayor, and we could use a Mayor.

Also, I can already say one of the players has suggested to me that I play Adult!Toph as one of the members of the original group of warriors (of course, she was younger back then), so I guess we've got one GMNPC on lock so far.
