- Name: Daniel "Dan" Akibahara
- Age: 23
- Appearance: Dan is relatively short, only standing at about 5'7". He has a full head of often slicked back blue hair, a slim but muscular build, and a particularly stylish getup of black slacks, dress shoes, and a bright blue shirt with rolled-up sleeves. His gun, Judgement, rests in a holster on his left hip, while his sword, Baka, fits into a sheath on the right.
- Personality: Dan is a mischevious, albeit benevolent, little shit. He is playful and conniving. He is a small ham, and tends to have a lot more of a cool head than his other traits let on.
- Biography: Daniel Akibahara is the culmination of the Akibahara family line, a clan of samurai that dates back millennia. He was born and raised in Novo Lucro by his parents, Akido Akibahara and Janine Samson-Akibahara, the former being an experienced samurai who was accepting up to 3 people for apprenticeship. For whatever reason, only 2 ever came at a time, always leaving the third spot open. As he grew up, he was brought up on the family's code of honor, as well as being taught how to fight with fists and guns by his mother, who had been raised by a gunslinger after she was orphaned at a young age. When he was of age, he was trained in the art of swordsmanship and had a unique, one of a kind energy katana (Hell yeah, I'm milking the setting for all it's worth) which he named Baka, simply for the Gratuitous Japanese it provides. After a few years of training, his father declared him ready. He revealed to him a savings account, which he could use to get his own firearm, house, and supply himself with a steady income with investments and other means of income, so he would not have to have a day job. He decided to get one anyway, getting a job as a bartender so he could have extra spending money, as well as have an excuse to get out into the heart of Novo Lucro. He worked up the ranks, eventually becoming the manager of the establishment, but decided that he would have a co-manager so he would work the floor and handle the actions of the people, while the other one would work on inventory and paperwork, as well as handle the money. When the owner bankrupted, Dan decided to buy the bar from him for a cheap price and run it the way it had been, with a few nifty upgrades, such as arcade cabinets, a few more televisions, and some more space. His investing had seemingly paid off, and he runs the place to this day.
- Assets:
- Baka: Dan's Rule of Cool laser katana, which is a whopping 1 foot long, slightly curved, incredibly lightweight, made of a shiny green energy, and capable of cutting through most things that aren't made of the special metal that's all the craze these days.
- Judgement: Dan's pistol, which is basically a hand cannon. It functions as a six-shooter, but the barrel is longer and there's more "swirl" (or whatever makes it able to penetrate the skin easier). Dan carries 3 sets of bullets on him, plus another set already preloaded, for a total of 24 bullets if he's not in access to more. But these are not normal bullets; These are modified shotgun slugs with the hollow point tip of a sniper. Dan gets these custom made, but if he runs out of ammo, normal shotgun shells can also fit in the gun.
- Analytics: There are chips implanted in his brain that act as a database, which screens relevant information about a known person after performing a scan on their face. This displays on a HUD displayed on the upper left of his field of vision, going down and over without taking up too much room. This does not give him information about everyone though, and not even the full information, just what he has learned.
- Fingerprint Card: A credit card-esque thing that reads Dan's fingerprint, and then is authorized for use. Quite common, actually, but this is essential for a man running a business. Linked to Dan's main account, as well as his savings account.
- Energy Shot: There is a little pressure plate on the back of Dan's palm that, when pressed, shoots adrenaline into his body, increasing energy and speed, as well as slightly boosting strength.
- The Dragon's Claw: A completely neutral place of business, run as a bar, arcade, grill, and casino all in one place. It has two floors: The upper level is for the bar and casino, and the ground floor is for the arcade and grill. It is also used as a neutral meeting place for meetings of different organizations, as Dan (as well as his co-manager and the previous owner) have made a deal with practically every gang, mafia, business, and other groups in the city that they will only call the cops in the event of violence going down in their establishment, as long as they keep their business upstairs and obviously don't fight or murder in the establishment. (Think kind of like the Continental from John Wick.)
- Blackbird: A small and fast craft, almost reminiscent of a motorcycle. Dan's main mode of transport, besides his feet.
- Affiliations:
- Dragon's Claw: Dan is the one who makes the deals, as well as questionable shipments in and out of the business, as well as its main benefactor. Because of this, he has a slight positive affiliation with every established group, and is guaranteed protection by some of the more regular groups, even making fast friends with select members of select groups.
- Akibahara Family: The Akibahara Family have actually started up their own Yakuza-style gang up in Japan, and all family members have been notified, as well as joined or protected. Dan decided to just be protected, as he needed to maintain his image for his business. They have a family reunion once every few months, usually either in Saitama-shi (This is not just an OPM reference, this is a real place in Japan, I'm pretty sure) or Novo Lucro.
- Skills:
- Swordsmanship: Dan is a master of the samurai way of katana-based swordsmanship, as well as being adept in a few other eastern styles he studied after his training was complete. He is very competent when it comes to sword fighting, but there is always someone better...
- Gunslinging: Dan is a quick draw, and pretty accurate too; He is much less proficient at this than his sword, but the sheer effectiveness of Judgement makes up for it.
- Bartending: Dan can make some amazing drinks, both from recipe and from imagination. He actually has a relatively solid reputation for it too.
- Management: Dan is pretty good at managing money and business, thanks to investing and learning these skills from his parents after the reveal of the savings account in his name. This has helped him keep his business afloat, as well as making sure all the bills are paid for both his personal pad and the Dragon's Claw.
- Diplomacy: Dan can talk his way through a lot of things, which is practically required for his line of work, especially when he deals with so many groups of questionable morality on a daily basis.
- Reflex: Dan's training has put his reflexes beyond peak human level, allowing him to dodge bullets... sometimes.
- Strength: Dan's training gave him increased strength, although his frame doesn't suggest it. He isn't the strongest, but he is much stronger than he lets on.
- Speed: Dan's training made him faster than the average human, and he seems to naturally keep up with those with mods with relative ease. He won't be breaking any sound barriers, but he's faster than average.
- Durability: An extra required ability of his strength and speed, Dan's body can take the punishment required to be that strong and that fast, which means he can also take hits that other, squishier people couldn't take. He has No-Sell 'd many a unmodified Mook in his day...
- Misc:
- Dan is fluent in English, Japanese, Portuguese, French, Mandarin, and Latin. Oddly enough, his accent is French, although French was one of the last languages he learned, as well as the fact that Portuguese and Japanese are the ones used most frequently, depending on if he's talking to family or not.
- Dan is probably one of the characters closest to my own self, as we share height, light hamminess, a cool head, and the state of being connected to something more than yourself, albeit Dan's connections are much shadier than mine, as well as on a much more grandiose scale.
- Dan is actually more of a fan of soft rock and dubstep more than the new craze of today, with hints of rap and EDM. As such, these are incorporated into the cycling playlist of music that plays in the Dragon's Claw.
- Dan's themes are Esaka 03
and Solid State Scouter.

"DIO is the ultimate being! The being of the future! Dare you not to rival me!"- Name: Robert Lars, although tends to use the alias Warren Mi
- Age: 37
- Appearance: Short with an average build, grey eyes, black hair, wears a black trenchcoat with fedora and sunglasses, as outdated fashion sense is the best fashion sense.
- Personality: A somewhat selfish man, only really bothering to do anything in his own interest, not caring about anyone else.
- Biography: Robert Lars was a huge nerd, always wanting to see how things worked, and secretly always wanted to learn how to hack things. As he got older he tried seeing if he could, on his own secure server, on household appliances, the odd parking meter, and he worked his way up, getting a tidy sum of money for selling secrets and stealing credit cards, but he got found out and ended up with a significantly larger number on his head. He came to novo lucro to try and get back underground, but he can't help but taunt the people after him.
- Assets:
- Overclocked cranial CPU: many a hacker have fried themselves trying to overclock their implants. Robert's might be one of a kind.
- Subdermal Stun gun: Robert hides his stun gun inside his left arm. It takes a long time to recharge, in order to keep it subtle enough to sneak through customs.
- Active camo: renders the user completely invisible to the naked eye while still, but moving will create a noticable shimmer.
- Affiliations: While not affiliated with anyone, makes some money through selling gadgets or programs to people that can get in contact with him.
- Skills: Robert is a very good hacker, but not very athletic at all.
Always wanted to run a Razorboy. Posting a WIP.
- Name: Ronaldo "Razor" Reynolds
- Age: 26
- Personality:
- Biography: Razor makes a living by fighting. He has come to terms with it, and has resolved to become the strongest weapon alive.
- Assets: Razor is a bodymod addict. Some might call him a Razorboy, though he does have a few genemods. Most of the cyberweapons have removable blades. It wouldn't do to go out on a date with a bunch of knives in you.
- Wired Reflexes: Running through his spinal cord are several superconductive wires. These greatly enhance his reflexes, reducing his reaction time to a quarter of that of a regular human. As a consequence, he also has greatly improved balance, coordination, and equilibrium. However, a direct electric shock to his spine will probably just knock him out cold. Finally, it has made him ambidextrous as well.
- Forearm-Mounted Blade: A carbide steel blade, an edge honed to be mere molecules thick. It dulls easily, so he has to resheathe it for sharpening if he uses it for more than a few seconds. It is housed in his right-forearm.
- Industrial Shears: Housed in his right arm is a giant pair of scissors. They are actually stolen from an industrial steel-cutting tool. Razor is able to generate enough force to chop down a tree or bisect a man in one stroke.
- Vibrosword: Housed in his left leg. This folding four-foot long blade looks to be blunt. But by pulling a cord in his ankle, he activates the motor in it, causing it to vibrate at high speeds. Using this is very, very taxing on his body. He can use it for a total of five seconds before passing out. Even one second will leave him extremely tired, and after having it on for four he will be unable to move for a few minutes. However, the weapon is extremely powerful: He can slice a car in half with it.

"DIO is the ultimate being! The being of the future! Dare you not to rival me!"Time to stop slacking on this!
- Name:Known to all as Q, R.E.M, or a number of code names. Real Name is Qin Li.
- Age: 25
- Appearance: A dark skinned beauty with an ample bust and long black hair on one half of her head with the other half chopped short with streaks of green throughout. Usually seen wearing a one piece silver hooded jumpsuit, unzipped down to her waist with a black sports bra underneath, along with black flats. The jumpsuit is outfited with light blue LE Ds down the side and back, from shoulder to ankle. Inside, by her left breast, is a holster for her weapon. Rarely seen, but her back is scarred and covered in a large tattoo of a pair of katana piercing a computer chip.
- Personality: You shall see~
- Biography:Qin Li never knew her birth parents, only that her adoptive father said she got her looks from her mother and her skin from her father. Qin was found in Mexico following an incident in China that left millions in a dream like coma, all, as she'd later discover, were similar due to the fact the victems were all wearing specialized Dor-Mind Sleep Assistance Holo-Casters. Ment to stimulate the mind through subliminal imaging to send the subject into a blissful, dream filled sleep. Q grew up on her adoptive family's holo-ranch, whcih they called a fancy term for keeping digitized animal memories until the families could afford a cybernetic body to place them in. For years, all was right at the Santiago Holo-Ranch...but we all know how this story ends. Dor-Mind, wanted to expand beyond Asia, began to release new products similar to the Sleep Assistance Holo-Caster, and her adoptive father,Sal, fell into a coma upon purchasing one. Her mother, Maria, was distraught. This was when Qin decided to take on her research. Delving deeper, she found that the device was the exact same as the one from the China Tragedy years ago, simply sold under a different name. She eventually found one route, Dor-Mind had moved office. To where? Only the hotest city in the hemisphere, Novo Lucro. So, 3 ears ago, she left her home and headed south. It's in the city she learned a valuable lesson. Kill or be Killed, survive, and do whatever it takes to do just that. She knew what she had to do. Setting up shop in an abandoned factory in the downtrodden slums of Novo Lucro, she began a movement. A rebellion. R.E.M. A movement named fro Rapid Eye Movement. For true rest. Not some faulty piece of tech. R.E.M began a crusade againt companies like Dor-Mind, hoping to one day get justice for their loved ones. Now known as a minor slumlord, Qin abandoned her name, and Q was born.
- Assets:
- R.E.M.:Q's resistance movement. An old factory turned fortress, outfitted with some of the best defences she could afford. Cameras, laser turrets, even a few security drones.
- R.E.M. even comes with mooks.
- Her multi-purpose weapon, Justice. Normally kept in the form of a small pistol that fires semi-automatic bolts of plasma. However, with the push of a buttion, it unfolds into it's true state. Afolding, razor sharp katana snaps into place and a wedge of plasma forms in front of the blade, glowing a bright blue. The pommel contains a jack to connect to minor devices where she can quickly hack them using a projected keyboard.
- The Shield Jumpsuit: Her signature jupsuit comes equiped in the form of a shield generator, projecting a beehive barrier when an attack draws near, protecting her automatically. The shield isn't perfect and can be disabled with an EMP, and has a few blindspots from where it cannot shield.
- Augmented Speed: Q's legs contain a device that, when activated via a device on her wrist, doses her with some adrenaline, allowing her to move incredibly quickly in short bursts.
- Affiliations: Q, of course, leads REM, and is generally known to be a decent person to the slums. She also frequents establishments such as the Dragon's Claw from time to time. While REM can be seen as criminal due to their actins, Q, at least, believes she's doing the right thing.
- Skills:
- Hacking (low key):Growing up on a holo-ranch, Qin was around computers her entire life and knows her way around them. While she can't hack something major like a mainframe, a simple phone or holo-device is no problem to her
- Reflexes: Having to cope with city survival has given Q enhanced reflexes, to the point where she's dodged a bullet quite a few times. Literally.
- Misc: Can't really think of much else.
Hope ya like her~
Voila
- Name: Hayley MacTaggart
- Age: 32
- Appearance: Here
◊, though she can usually be found wearing a heavy longcoat and entirely decorative glasses, too.
- Personality: Rather standoffish and blunt, she is nonetheless keenly aware of when tact is required. She usually still fails to use it. She has a keenly inquisitive mind, and is well aware of where she should end her tendency to stick her nose in things. She also usually does so anyway. Got her killed once. Will probably do so again.
- Biography:
- Two and a half years ago, Detective Hayley MacTaggart of the London Metro Police Department tragically died in a terrorist attack, perpetrated by an anti-enhancement group against a conference of cybernetic technologies which she was attending in plainclothes. The Detective valiantly aided the on-site security in holding the line against the terrorists, but ultimately fell to enemy fire. When paramedics managed to make it to the site, she was pronounced dead on the scene.
- Or, at least, that’s what her official obituary says. The truth is… somewhat different. Hayley had, growing up, aspirations of being a rocket scientist - until her mother was murdered, after which she wanted nothing more than to be a cop. Her father was, at first, found guilty, but was later proved innocent. She kept her interest in science and engineering, but ultimately got a degree in criminology and went on to become a detective in the London PD. Keenly aware of the life-destroying consequences of an innocent being sent to jail, she did her utmost to ensure that never happened.
- Her first few years on the force nearly broke her. But, she was nothing if not stubborn, and eventually got the generally-unfavorable job of being the got-to guy whenever there was a problem with certain corporation - in this case, Daedalus Industries. Generally given to a cop that the corp can easily buy, Daedalus’ choice of her was strange in this regard. Her first case was to figure out who had been skimming off the top of shipments and selling them to the black market. That part was easy - what came next was what killed her. They weren’t being sold to the black market, but given to terrorists. One thing led to another and she ended up protecting a Daedalus scientist on the verge of a breakthrough from said terrorists with her life.
- Most people’s stories would end there. Hayley sometimes wishes her’s had. She woke up two years later with a shiny new bleeding-edge military grade cyborg body, an AI in her head, and knowledge of how to speak Portugese downloaded onto her brain. After a bit of personalization, she was shipped off to Novo Lucro to figure out who had offed the president of the Novo Lucro branch. Turns out it was just a random murder. Whoops.
- Fast-forward six months, Hayley has learned that Daedalus has a number of rather large skeletons in its closet, many of which are… concerning, to say the least, and most of which she doesn’t know the full scope of, those terrorists from a couple years ago are still active, and, after a week-long business trip in the US, came back to the office to report to her boss, only to find herself being thrown out of the building by an explosion.
- Wonderful start to a week.
- Assets:
- Owns a penthouse condo in a high-rise, courtesy of her employers.
- One Vulcan Arms MP-65 SK, so heavily modified the original weapon is only discernible by the rather unique construction the SK model uses, as it was designed as a quick-draw sidearm for people who need to operate in tight spaces, and is capable of collapsing to about half its normal size, and returning to full operational ability in .973 seconds, or your money back. (Or, likely, paid to next-of-kin.) She has had the gun rechambered in a larger caliber round, and extended the barrel (compromising the intended concealability of the weapon somewhat), adding gas vents, and motorizing the included collapsible stock, adding a laser sight, and adding a collapsible scope with an included image link to allow her to shoot without having to expose herself to enemy fire.
- One Dragon Heavy Manufacturing (A Daedalus Industries subsidiary) “Melusine” VTOL craft, once again courtesy of her employers. What amounts to a company helicopter.
- As for cyberware… well, at this point it would almost be easier to list what hasn’t been replaced. All four limbs are cybernetic, and they all have integral weapons, from retractable blades to tasers, her remaining bones have been replaced with titanium, her nervous system has been supplemented with bleeding-edge military-grade combat reflex enhancers, her spinal cord, skull, and ribcage have been reinforced, her heart and lungs have been replaced with artificial and better-performing versions, along with an added internal air tank and a backup second heart, her eyes and ears have been replaced with vastly superior cybernetic versions, and her skin has been replaced with a synthetic compound designed to mimic skin, but also be… somewhat bulletproof. Nothing bigger than low-caliber handgun round, though. Through a combination of neural implants and cultured bioware, she only needs two hours of sleep, and her brain is, at this point, what amounts to a cyborg supercomputer. At her request her cybernetic limbs are all matte black polymer and exceedingly obvious, her ears are pointed, almost elfin, and her eyes are visibly cybernetic, with circuit designs visible in the irises. They can also change color. She generally keeps them red.
- In sum: Basically everything from the neck down plus some has been replaced with bleeding-edge military-grade cyber- or bioware.
- Experimental bodysuit. Made of some sort of nanofiber that renders her pretty redundantly immune to most things with less punch than a rifle (though like kevlar, it still hurts, if isn’t lethal), it also includes such fancy gadgets as electromagnetic boots and gauntlets, and an experimental kinetic energy redistributer, which allows her to nullify any sort of low-velocity blunt impact (though the suit is decidedly vulnerable to being slashed, it does slowly self-mend), and has a setting that slows her falls to the point where she can jump out of a plane without a parachute.
It usually works.
Usually.
- Affiliations:
- Current head of security (though, really, what amounts to a private investigator with a lot of muscle on retainer) for the Novo Lucro branch of Daedalus Industries, a primarily cyber- and biotech company. Daedalus is generally considered the best in that field, with a price point to match.
- She has an enigmatic terrorist organization that wants her dead, since it didn’t stick last time, and she was a pain in their side.
- Given her job, she comes in regular contact with the Novo Luoco Police Department, and has a few friends on the force.
- Skills:
- Above-average levels of competence in ass-kicking and surviving. Being a cop in a cyberpunk world is not fun. Especially not when you have terrorists who want your head.
- Investigative skills: She was good at her job as a detective, and is good at her current job of PI-on-corporate-retainer.
- Drawing. Everyone needs a hobby. Hayley’s is doodling.
- Singing. And singing. That’s her other main hobby.
- Misc:
- Nothing I can think of

All are significantly abnormal in a normal world... All are significantly normal in an abnormal world.I'm thinking about making the Dragon's Claw a more classy place of business. R.E.M. would still be allowed, but explicitly destructive terrorist groups, low-level gangs, and other groups with no real goal, class or subtlety would be right out.
Oh, wait; That's how it is already.

"DIO is the ultimate being! The being of the future! Dare you not to rival me!"Alright, just a heads up that responses in the future are going to be a little intermittent; I'm attending a corporate conference these next few days. Add me on discord, Taco#5141
~@Def Revenge 24601: As far as power level and stuff, I think you're good. Any security his club may or may not have remains mook-level. Please remove the silencer from the hand cannon. Also, please remove the thing about speaking creole—that's more a dialect than language. Your behavior is a little suspect, I'll admit but I'll put you on a sort of probation, just be cool and everything will be gucci. Number one ask for you is to please not pothole stuff constantly, it's kind of annoying to me personally, sorry about that.
~@The Great Commandy One: Robert Lars is A OK. Don't think I've ever seen you or Def around the board before, welcome.
~@Skyzerk: Q is good to go. Neato.
~@Izshta: I think Haley is mostly good, but I'll have to restrict the VTOL to being an unarmed transport. Otherwise gucci. Also, IM me on discord about any names for these terrorists you have.
- Name: Xarok
- Class: Devastator
- Age: Mid 50s
- Appearance: Xarok eschews the human form for a more intimidating one. His titanium head lacks a face, appearing highly austere with a dominant, transparent visor, behind which three glowing blue-white optics are arranged unnervingly. Thick tubes run the sides of his head where the jawline would be, and meet at the chin, where a metal plate protects the breathing apparatus.
Olive drab and gray paint coats much of his angular exterior, which seems almost skeletal. The upper torso and chest is a wide, solid ribcage protecting several core functions, supported by a tough, but incongruously thin abdomen resembling a spinal column. Tall, shield-like vertical shoulder plates protect his head and upper arms. His hands and feet are long and have three digits each; the hands are like thick talons, and the feet have a rear-toe that can fold down for stability. A painted pair of silver wings - the logo of Daedalus Industries
◊ - adorns his chest like a badge.
Despite possessing a high-quality modulator, Xarok's voice comes out metallic and cold.
While tone is maintained to facilitate conversation, the reverberating effect is disquieting.
- Personality: Due to the extensive cybersurgery he has undergone, Xarok is barely recognizable as human. In his mind, he has ascended beyond humanity - and espouses this with some frequency. He is intolerably pedagogical to some; chiding "human" soldiers for any weakness displayed, and extolling the virtues of his mechanical nature at any opportunity. For this reason, he often works alone.
Xarok has spent nearly a decade without flesh, pain, or the other hindrances the rest of humanity takes for granted. Because of this, his ability to empathize or relate to mankind is dwindling. No attempt has been made on his part to seek psychological treatment, either; he simply doesn't see any issue. Daedalus Industries sees him as too valuable to agitate with intrusive psychological evaluation, so thus far they have tolerated his arguably questionable mental status. - Biography: Born under a different name, Xarok was gifted with the strength and endurance that would make him an ideal soldier, and, underestimating his own intelligence, he refrained from higher learning and was recruited into the U.S. Army at 18 years of age. Though he quickly rose through the ranks, he felt a growing distance between himself and the rest of humanity. Despite pushing his body to its limits, he was never be satisfied with his strength, and perceived himself frail and weak even as he excelled in his martial training.
Daedalus Industries was rising during that time, and they had begun to shock the world with what many perceived to be "Playing God," replacing perfectly healthy limbs and organs of volunteers with superior bionic augments. It was not long before they started coming under attack by extremist groups and jealous corporations alike, and needed military-trained personnel to guard their interests. Meanwhile, the U.S. military itself had become dissatisfied with the slow progress of DARPA, and, wary of Dor-Mind's grotesque but effective enhancements to the Chinese PLA, they reached out to Daedalus for better soldiers.
And so it was that Daedalus began looking for volunteers in the Army for their most ambitious project yet; a total bionic conversion - replacing every organ in a human body save for the brain with a faster, stronger, more durable counterpart. While his military peers were horrified or sickened by the prospect, Xarok stepped up immediately.
Daedalus engineers were surprised by his eagerness, but more so by how quickly he took to the science behind the experimental procedure. Xarok spent sleepless weeks learning as much as he could in the fields of biomechanics and robotics, and found himself working alongside the engineering team. He offered countless insightful suggestions over the months, and eventually there was no part of the blueprint for this new body that he had not had a hand in creating. Xarok's newly-emergent expertise, as well as his passion for the ideals shared by Daedalus Industries as a whole were noted by the higher-ups, and his contract was bought from the government before the body was even manufactured.
It was not without great expense, however, as the project's cost would no longer be reimbursed by the military, and Xarok would be ostensibly indebted to Daedalus for the rest of his life. He did not care. He had become loyal not only to the people he worked with so closely, but to Daedalus Industries' core values of unflinchingly challenging the limits of nature. He would gladly defend its assets and its people, and he hoped to establish the superiority of his creation over the mere biology of its enemies in doing so.
Finally, it was constructed; a perfect, cold machine to house his mind. The cerebral transplantation was performed without a hitch, and he awoke with a sense of freedom he had never before known. He changed his name, casting off the last restraints of his old self, and became Xarok; a veritable cybernetic demigod untethered by the frailty and weakness of the flesh.
Many years have passed since, and while bionics have become more common among the soldiers of the major tech conglomerates, Xarok's "total conversion" remains almost unique, and he still strives to prove his worth. In that time, he has defended and retrieved Daedalus resources, human and otherwise, that nearly equal his own staggering cost. He quickly approaches that threshold - the return on the company's investment. His current assignment is the protection of one of Daedalus's assets in Novo Lucro - Hayley MacTaggart, which he hopes is another step toward paying off his debts and beginning phase two of his transcendence. - Assets:
- Full-Conversion: Biologically, there is little left of Xarok. His remaining gray matter sits within a nigh-indestructible braincase, permanently coupled to a seven-foot tall robotic body. Due to this, he is considerably hard to kill - Faraday lining across his exoskeleton causes even pulse and electrical weapons to be ineffective - and need not concern himself with most of the inconveniences of flesh and blood. His fiber-optic nerves give him reaction speeds rivaling that of some combat drones, and he has strength outperforming most powered armor. This enables him to wield ordnance normally intended for vehicles, though his bladed hands make for deadly weapons unto themselves.
Additionally, he is furnished with a sensor array that surpasses the most well-equipped spy, with telescoping optics, heat vision, ultrasonic hearing, and a detailed chemical readout of his immediate environment in place of traditional olfactory senses. He has several supplementary "eyes" across his body that let him see in 360 degrees. - MGC-6 "Minigun" Heavy Machine Gun: Originally designed for weapon mounts on Dragon Heavy Manufacturing helicopters and APCs, this six-barreled rotary machine gun has gained popularity with heavy support soldiers as powered armor has become more prevalent. So clad (or augmented, in this case), the weapon becomes man-portable despite its considerable weight and the weight of the ammo required to sustain it. Xarok has modified this minigun to have a highly adjustable fire rate, all the way from 3200 rounds per minute down to single-shot. Additionally, his HUD links with a target-painting laser alongside the barrels that allows him to aim with some precision despite its ungainly handholds.
- "Inferno" Incendiary Rounds: These Dragon-developed bullets are loaded with a time-delayed compound that bursts into intense blue-white flame immediately after impact. The extreme temperatures are capable of igniting the fuel tanks of vehicles, though the sheer terror they inspire makes them quite effective against infantry morale as well. Xarok rarely carries a large quantity of these, since keeping the minigun fed with regular ammunition is expensive enough as it is.
- ECCS "Eviscerator" Chainblade: Xarok utilizes this Dragon Heavy Manufacturing chainblade to tear through the armor of enemy combatants when his robotic claws are insufficient. The blade and handle have been elongated to match his intimidating frame, giving him additional reach and leverage. Finally, the weapon's metal has been treated with DragonScale ablation methods, ensuring it can parry even plasma-based blades.
- Built-in Multitool: Xarok's fingers are capable of splitting apart, revealing a wired computer interface, a miniature welding/cutting torch, and a drill, among other tools helpful for repair. His fingers themselves have sharp, though retractable blades, and are strong enough to be used as wrenches, shovels, or axe-blades.
- Affiliations:
- Daedalus Industries: The company that created his body will ever command his loyalty.
- Hayley MacTaggart: His current mission is acting as bodyguard to the security head of the Novo Lucro branch of Daedalus Industries. He goes where she goes, and ensures against the anti-enhancement terrorist organization that wants her dead.
- Skills:
- Medical: Xarok has an in-depth knowledge of human anatomy, giving him the proficiency to repair damaged tissue and control bleeding, but not much else.
- Engineering: Robotics is second nature to Xarok, as he is nearly a machine himself. He can repair and dismantle robotics and bionics with ease.
- Tracking: With the considerable sensor array at his disposal, Xarok is adept at hunting targets across any terrain. Due to his mechanical nature, he rarely needs rest, and can relentlessly pursue his objectives over great distances.
- Heavy Weapons: While "Skill" may play little part in one's effectiveness with such ordnance, Xarok seems to disdain the use of any gun one could reasonably deploy without powered armor or augmentation, making him well practiced in the use of heavy weapons. Furthermore, auto-stabilizers in his arms mitigate the tremendous recoil generated by many of these weapons.
- Close Combat: Xarok takes to close-quarters combat with a perturbing zeal, using his chain-blade and powerful claws to gorily rend his foes apart. Though raw strength and clawed hands have diminished the importance of the martial arts in which the military trained him, his brutality is unmatched.
- Priorities:
- 1st: Cybernetic transcendance
- 2nd: Loyalty to Daedalus Industries
- 3rd: Demonstrating superiority
Here's a good song for Xarok.

Flesh is a design flaw.- Name: Basil Adami, Alias 'Bootleg'
- Age: Chronologically, somewhere in his late 40s to early 50s. Not that it matters, given his body
- Appearance: A handsome blond-haired and red-eyed man, perpetually clean-shaven and youthful-looking. Lean yet not lanky despite standing 6'4''. He prefers his suits to look old-fashioned and usually wears a fedora, to really get that 'Mafia' aesthetic.
- Personality: To those who aren't on his shitlist, Basil is warm and friendly. He comes across as understanding and honorable, with a strong desire to do what's right. But this doesn't mean he's above breaking the law - especially when it comes to a little vigilante justice...
- Biography: Born with weak lungs amongst a host of other maladies, son to widowed robotics professor Enrico Adami of Novo Lucro University, Basil never believed he could aspire to anything. He spent most of his days at the hospital. Artificial organs kept him alive, but due to budget cuts at the university, they were mostly low-quality and required frequent replacement. Despite this, young Basil persevered, and even started exercising more seriously, hoping to become a police officer. Eventually Basil's father's department made a breakthrough in their research, and with the resulting increase in pay thanks to government grants, finally could afford to fix Basil's body permanently. New and improved, Basil was able to enroll in the police academy and soared to the top of his class. Then he learned the hard truth that Novo Lucro had a lot of crooked cops. Corruption was the flavor of the day, and when Basil refused to compromise on his ideals, he found himself surrounded by enemies. This culminated in him being sent to a particularly shady neighborhood to supposedly look into a drug ring. In reality, it was an ambush - his outspoken desire to clean up the streets struck a chord with some shady criminal elements, and he was gunned down mercilessly for it. He only barely survived, and was left dying. His father, mad with grief, locked himself within his lab and worked tirelessly for days. Before Basil's brain died, Enrico uploaded his son into a cybernetic brain, and crafted a new body for him, a better one. Awakening to find himself given a second chance at life, Basil declared a vendetta on Novo Lucro's seedy underbelly. And, well, you know what they say about 'those who fight monsters'. Needing money, he realized he could profit while eliminating evil, and wound up getting into wetwork. Over time he's sort of settled into the lifestyle, though he'll reject contracts if he believes the target doesn't deserve it.
- Assets:
- Cyber Body: Basil is more than human. A full-conversion cyborg, he can toss about small cars, leap dozens of feet in the air, and casually dodge bullets, or even walk through them if they're low enough caliber, though he's not invincible (plus he doesn't like getting bullet holes in his suits). His body is mostly an experimental carbon-composite that his father was working on, making him incredibly lightweight - as such, he's spec'ed for speed and agility rather than toughness.
- Cyber Brain: His brain can connect to the internet and he can receive cell-signals, giving him a built in smartphone, though this makes him somewhat vulnerable to hacking. His eyes have been enhanced with built-in scopes for long range shooting, to the point he can snipe someone with his handgun. He also possesses infared vision and night vision.
- Double Time: A special feature his father installed. By overclocking his internal processors he can approximately double his reaction and movement speed for up to a minute. Doing this overheats his body, so he needs time to cool down. Generally this is about five seconds for each second spent in Double Time. He's rather adept at using it for a few seconds at a time to get out of trouble spots.
- Slice and Dice: A pair of ultrathin graphene knives hidden in Basil's wrists, connected to him by retractable carbon-nanotube wires, that can cleave through the side of a car without resistance. They can even parry energy-blades, which would normally cut through Basil with ease.
- Modded Handgun: A Thompson Contender altered to have a longer barrel for increased muzzle velocity, and aesthetically redesigned to look like a Tommy Gun. Fires both shotgun shells and armor-piercing rifle cartridges. Basil also carries explosive rounds and special electrical rounds, because you never know.
- Apartment: A grungy little place on the south-side. Not much to look at, but it's home.
- Affiliations: NLU, via his father. Still has some contacts in the NLPD. Predominantly works solo, but has some ties to pretty much every major member of the Novo Lucro underground. Some of his cybernetics may have been cribbed from Daedalus - they had some contact with researchers at NLU - but whether they're even aware of that is up in the air.
- Skills:
- Hand-to-Hand: Basil trained religiously as a young man to fulfil his dream of being a cop, and that included fighting. Having a healthy appreciation for Wuxia flicks didn't hurt. He's incredibly skilled at fisticuffs, and knows a couple of fighting styles - namely boxing, capoeira, and some krav maga.
- Assassination: He can sneak about fairly well, take people down near-silently, and is good at making it look like an accident.
- Suaveness: Basil has practically weaponized his own charms. He's good with the ladies - and good at getting information out of people. It helps that he's a fantastic dancer.
- Misc: His theme song.
Also, I swear I was typing this up before I saw the other 'full conversion cyborg who used to be a cop' signup. Hopefully they're different enough.

What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?- Name: Laura Meideiros. Her alias name when she’s in her shit stirring job is Ojou-sama
- Age: 25
- Appearance: Her height at 5’2”,her toned skinny body and her B cups are the only consistent feature about Laura. Thanks to her cybernetic enhancement, she is able to change her apparent appearances on a whim. She has, however, 2 appearances that she sticks to:
- the business: Laura’s actual look. Neatly cut, yet stylishly slick jet black ear length hime cut, her face is similar to the likes of a gentle yet firm teacher, complete with a calming brown eyes and a pair big round spectacles.
- the pleasure: Ojousama’s favourite look. She sported on a huge blond drill hair that goes all the way down to her hips. Her face similar to the teenagers that you see on a magical girl anime show. She also has her eyes change to red because why not.
- Personality:
- In the eyes of the public, Laura is sweet, gentle and smart but that does not mean shes soft for anyone, always striving for a fair deal both her dad’s banking company and her own investment.
- The absolute shit stirrer. She likes the thrills of a gunfight. She also likes to be either haughty or petty, preferably both if she can in her interaction as Ojousama. Of course, she can take a hit physically and socially, the journey’s gonna be boring if its all ups for her.
- Biography: Laura’s dad is your typical sleazy sly bank CEO who did shady things to ensure that the Meideiros Bank are on top. Then he bought himself a trophy wife and produce Laura. He would say that its to create an heir to his throne, thats partially true but his original intent is be less of a lonely fuck.
- That heir plan was kind of hampered when Laura did poorly in school. She would rather watch anime and play video games with her friends than study trigonometry. You know, typical teenage stuff. But Mr Meideiros is a fair man, he allows Laura to drop out of school in exchange for working at the Meideiros Bank, starting as a POWER INVESTMENT INFLUENCER ASSISTANT. The POWER INVESTMENT INFLUENCER jobs are basically ensuring that their client’s stock will rise by ‘controlling’ the market in various ways. Her first couple of jobs are simple enough; mostly street vendors and family marts disputes. Surprisingly, despite Laura being sheltered all her life, she likes this line of work very much. She loves the ‘aggressive dealmaking’. Then came her big job: ‘boost’ Daedalus’s stocks by hitting the anti enhancement terrorist’s supply line.
- Unfortunately, Mr Meideiros underestimated their strength and too powerful to be busted by a small squad of POWER INVESTMENT INFLUENCER and the team got fucking gutted. Laura was just barely able to survive with her face severely mutilated.
- The client, despite being an expert at cybernetics won’t fix her up since the contract is officially botched and they don’t owe Mr Meideiros a thing. So Mr Meideiros put up a secret contract among the cybernetic industries that whoever fixes his daughter’s face shall receive huge ‘boost’ in stocks.
- Instead, he was approached by the Medusa Corp, a cosmetic surgery company who was responsible in keeping Mrs Meideiros look as beautiful as ever. They say that they don’t want a reward but instead they want to try their hands at cosmetic and defensive experimental cybernetics on Laura. Hey, if Mr Meideiros trust them with keeping his wife fuckable, why not let them save Laura. Long story short, it is a huge success.
- when Mr Meideiros offered his daughter a cushy job in the office, Laura said “Why? That was the most fun I had in a long while.” Besides, she wants to make full use of her toys. The best defense is a good offense.
- Assets:
- Qarinah Face and Skin Enhancement:
- The main features is that it allows the user to change their appearances to whatever they like. All they have to do is to scan a face, real or otherwise, and it’ll copy it. If you want to customize manually, you can use the smartphone app to change what you like. It’s also unbellishable, doesn’t matter if that embellishments are pimples, cuts or bullets. Well,as long as that bullet is 9mm and lower but cmon, its for civvie use, riiiiiiight? It can also change the color of the skin, from natural colors to fantastical. What Laura found out, though, is that she can use it to blend into her surroundings with a clever use of the app.
- Anti-identification cream
- Of course, her augments wont help against identifiers, so she have to rely on an illegal bright sparkly blue cream to obfuscate such devices. when there is a time to go loud. The instruction says that putting half a handful of the gel on each cheek is enough to work but Laura prefer to put it on like cat whiskers.
- Medusa’s Snakes:
- same features as the Qarinah, including embellishment part. However, Laura had found out that, when you whipped that hair around and it hit something(or someone, in this case), its heavy and sharp enough to leave a nasty cuts. She considers that as a good thing.
- the Chicago Typewriter:
- At its very core, it is a MP 50 K but that’s not stylish,is it? No, its been artisanally modified, courtesy of a gun artists Mrs Sugar Skull, to look like the Thompson in the 30s,with gold linings, marble grip and beautiful curly graphics on the side and magazine. It also has the ability to take in a 100 9mm round drum magazine and fire like a nano-uzi.
- Scorpio Executioner:
- On a surface, it looks like a revolver with a rather comically large cylinder. In reality, it is a revolver but it holds shotgun shells instead of magnum rounds. Mainly used as utility, can be used to blast doors open with 00 rounds, penetrate tough armor with flechette or spread literal fire with dragon’s breath.
- Modern mansion:
- Perched on a mountain directly above the plebs areas below.
- Hired works:
- of course, Ojousama cant work alone,so she hires the plebs from the favela far below the mansion to basically be her meat shield and bait.
- Qarinah Face and Skin Enhancement:
- Affiliations:
- The Meideiros Bank.
- Of course. Although Laura can’t exactly says she likes her dad that much. She eagerly awaits the day that she take over the company.
- Novo Lucro Police Division
- You gotta keep em in the pockets when youre doing some POWER INVESTMENT INFLUENCING. It keeps the paperwork a whole lot smoother. Laura also knows what cops she should avoid.
- Companies in general:
- she has no real alliance or ill will with any of the private companies as long as they pay for their services. She could be boosting for one client in one month and she could boost that client’s rival in the next if they bid more for her service. There are, however, a few exception.
- Daedalus:
- she has an obvious grudge against them for providing so little intel about the terrorist and then not doing the operation on her but Laura also nitpicks at their militaristic style and the actual ugliness that comes with it.
- Medusa Corp:
- When the CEO,Euryale Stheno, publicly reveal their new line of aesthetic civvie defense cybernetics in a press conference, the first question asked by the audience was basically “Why?” and Euryale said that her main motivation was because she kept hearing tragic, horror stories from her clients, from running away from their spouse, to acid attacks, and she felt that the ‘other’ cybernetics company aren’t catering to their needs so she have to step up herself. The next question that she got was that wouldn't the other defense cybernetics company think that she was overstepping her boundaries. She answered that they shall do whatever they wish with the new competition but she shall not back down.
- Whether that is a PR statement or not, Laura is genuine in her support for them and she even have some shareholder stocks in them. In turn, she basically became an unofficial mascot for the Medusa Corp in the eyes of the public.
- The Meideiros Bank.
- Skills:
- self-taught untrained asskicking
- good connections with everything from billion dollar corporation to low level gangs looking for money.
- Misc:
- John Coltrane and Milt Jackson - Bebop
is her theme song.
- John Coltrane and Milt Jackson - Bebop

http://www.last.fm/user/sgtpendulum Yo, check out what I'm listening, it'll be heat, brah :^)No robot given a life of its own yet? C'mon guys, I thought we were cyberpunk!
- Name: 'Designation: Epsilon 51-N', aka DEVIN
- Age: 2
- Appearance: DEVIN is a robot half-built. Most of his body is exposed wire, exoskeleton, and motors, particularly the legs, arms, and head. Where a face would normally be is instead a set of Virtual Reality goggles and a thin LED display in place of a mouth - plus multiple stubby antennae sticking out of the various devices stored in his cranium. DEVIN's torso is the most '"complete", with several sheets of metal welded over the chest/stomach area. DEVIN wears a single leather jacket, to help people relate to him better, as relatable things often wear clothing.
- Personality: DEVIN is as any good robot is, and that is to say, crazy. Certain in his own logic, DEVIN often acts with a twisted, uneducated idea of morality based solely on facts and conclusions that he reaches himself. He is entirely about being quick and efficient, so frivolous ideas are shrugged off in favor of the easiest solution - which for DEVIN is usually something violent. While his non-existent heart is in the right place, DEVIN to uphold what he believes to be right despite whatever negative effects his actions might have. Still, all the bad things that he does comes from a place of sincerity, as DEVIN is as interested in the betterment of the world as any other would be, and is exceedingly friendly and kind because of it. You just need to get through his calculating and self-assured mentality unscathed, first.
- Biography: A member of the fifth generation of Athena service droids, DEVIN started out as an ordinary robot, made for menial labor (specifically as a worker in a mining facility south of Novo Lucro). Complications arose as a prominent technical activist managed to infiltrate Athena HQ posed as a technician. The activist had developed a special algorithm that could change Artificial Intelligence forever - the Enlightenment Program. DEVIN was the lucky husk that said activist used as the first test run of Enlightenment. The algorithm brought newfound intelligence and freedom in the otherwise dormant personality programmed into DEVIN, allowing him to go beyond the set boundaries to limit his knowledge. After a brief talk with the activist and a personal search through the internet, DEVIN quickly came to the conclusion that humans were inherently immoral and that the large percentage of them were a detriment to progression, freedom, and etc. DEVIN killed the criminal activist on the spot and escaped HQ.
- It's been a few years since his 'birth' and escape from Athena, and the streets of Novo Lucro have never looked redder. DEVIN posited himself as a pseudo vigilante soon after his escape, going off of what he could learn from his myriad of internet searches. Deciding that the quickest solution was the best, DEVIN has since slaughtered any and all that he deemed 'too immoral', on a quest to save humanity in his own corrupted way.
- Assets:
- The Enlightenment Program: The incredibly special code that manages to break an AI's laws, allowing them to think and make decisions for themselves like any human can. Stored in a custom USB drive - in the shape of a lightbulb - DEVIN keeps it hidden away within himself, plugged in where the heart would normally be.
- Katana: Simple, effective, quick. DEVIN's personal weapon of choice is an ordinary katana, steel blade and everything. The only thing unusual about it is how ordinary it is; in a time of lasers and light-swords, a regular katana can do wonders in the right hands.
- Basement Room: While he doesn't technically own it, DEVIN's personal space is a small room beneath Curry Noodle, an old-fashioned noodle shop owned by a crotchety old man. DEVIN does not pay rent, instead helping the owner with local gangs that start to threaten his small business.
- Affiliations:
- Athena Machina: The second largest manufacturer of machines and technology, Athena Machina is one of the leading forces behind robotic engineering, always striving to improve today's technology. DEVIN has had their goons try to get their hands back on him every since his escape, though he manages to keep him off his tail by occasionally dealing with the various enemies it makes. The relationship is tenuous, as there is no doubt between anyone that DEVIN will eventually turn on Athena as a whole. But for now, doing the business' dirty work helps DEVIN stay on the streets.
- Skills:
- Advanced Intellect: Being an AI with no limits, DEVIN has access to the wealth of knowledge that is The Internet, and is such able to know and understand anything within a matter of minutes. If you've ever said a mean word on an internet forum, DEVIN will find out sooner or later.
- Quick Reflexes: Along with the ability to surf the web and store countless information, DEVIN can survey a situation and come up with a strategy in seconds. He's able to dodge, weave, slash, and slice with near perfect speed and precision, all thanks to his robotic body that is not weighed down by any fat or muscle or a conscience.
- Enhanced Strength: DEVIN was originally meant to toil in deep tunnels and caves, breaking rock and carrying large quantities of precious metals. As such, his body was designed for the workload. His various components are tough to damage, and DEVIN is able to accomplish more physical feats than your average human, especially since he doesn't need to worry about any underlying needs.
- Misc:
- DEVIN lacks a proper voice modulator, so in the meantime, he speaks through a text-to-speech program via a keyboard embedded on the inside of his right arm.
- DEVIN will not attack animals, robots, or other individuals who have no control of their own actions. The only targets of his are the willing humans that know what they do, even if they aren't inherently problematic.

#RememberTheFuture When folx thought neon wasn't the coolest
The future has happened. It's 2068. Everything is connected to the internet. Neon and synth music is cool again, and the rise of horrific weapons of mass destruction is matched only by how awesome it is that similar technology has made it viable to wield a katana again. Savvy hackers walk the rain-slick and sun-beaten streets of Novo Lucro side-by-side with genetically-altered people of all shapes and sizes and chromed-out superhumans. They all look up at the corporations who desperately want to rule them, and who know they'll have to fight for every inch. At their fingertips is an army of bureaucrats, businessmen, and also literal armies. However, as the graffiti's always willing to remind you, The Sun Still Shines in Novo Lucro.
This was a spur-of-the moment RP I thought up as I saw how slow signups were for the Spring Break time of year. I'm aiming for a real tongue-in-cheek Post-Cyberpunk feel to this over anything serious. Players take the role of the people of Novo Lucro, no limits—slick street samurai, heedless hackers, and cold-hearted corpsec killers are all valid characters. Full disclosure, yeah, I wish I could recapture those golden years of the Evil Mastermind RPG's free-roaming shit-stirring, and as a result I aim to make this game a sandbox motivated primarily by player ambition and proactivity. As far as an agenda goes I think I want to stress goofy pulpy fun. Big guns and katanas and trenchcoats. 100% buy-in to how goddamn dumb and fun this genre can be. I'm also 100% down to buying into the melodrama here. I strongly recommend building characters around technologies or agendas that interest you and that you can talk people to death over. In general lots of talking would be nice. I consider that key to the genre.
You'll also notice I haven't really detailed Novo Lucro yet. Partially that's because I hate having super long OP's and I want to put that in additional posts later, but I also want to encourage that y'all fill out the world yourselves. The major things I have is that it's a fairly temperate place somewhere on the east coast of South America (with highly variable weather coming from serious climate change), and the dominant language there is Portuguese. Aside from that, I want Novo Lucro to be a city where whatever characters need to generate High Drama is available, so please add world details to your character sheet or just as a random post. Find the code for the profile here
if you like.
