They also redid Amelia Birkin for that. In-game if you didn't read the files she'd look more like a person who was trying to contain a G-Virus/realizing that her daughter needs her, but then if you read the files you realize that they were using orphans for experiments.

If villains made sound and reasonable life choices, they would not be villains.
Yes, I like the fact Umbrella's goons can have a lot of complex personality traits but at the end of the day they're still evil Mad Scientist types.
3 Remake demo incoming on March 19th, open beta for Resistance opens March 27th.
Great to know we can have hands-on impression now.
I'm glad Jill knows how to dodge-roll, unlike those punks Leon and Clair.
If you want the demo now you can make an AU PSN account and download it from AU PS Store.
I can wait
Nemesis is definitely more aggravating than Mr. X. Also you are more encouraged to shoot down zombies and unlike RE 2 they seem to have the ability to respawn.
That sounds pretty faithful to the original but I never played it.
Yeah, I was expecting that. "Mr. X but now he has guns!", while faithful to the concept, just sounded to me like he was going to be even more of a nuisance.
I could be wrong about respawn after all. Turns out zombies are just good at hiding. Also yeah, dodge mechanic is practically Witch Time.
I played the demo and I had to call bullshit on the zombies that seemingly appear from nowhere at times. Also, Jill is very spicy.

Mr. X was my favorite part of RE2Make. It kept the police station tense once it started to get routine. He also made me regret leaving certain zombies active when, alone, they were no problem.
X scared the hell out of me.
Best part of RE 2.
One thing I noticed is they made items a bit more streamlined. When you're near an item, a pop up appears that shows you exactly what it is. Likewise, items you've already collected before will automatically go into your inventory on all future pickups instead of having the menu pop up everytime.
The knife sucks again, though. I'm not sure why they made it so there's no such thing as a "sub" weapon any more, and you have to equip grenades and the knife the same as guns. I know they needed a button for the dodge, but it seems like they could've just put it on Circle/B and made R3 the quickturn or ammo swap button.

Balance. You now have a dodge and a way to minimize damage, so there's no need for defensive items.
How am I supposed to get the gun parts from Nemy if I cant stab him to incapacitation?
Shoot him to incapacitation. Duh.
Man I'm glad the knife is back to being an Emergency Weapon with infinite durability since now I can stab downed zombies to make sure they're dead.
I don't think that's worth an item slot. It doesn't seem like zombies get up like they did in RE2make, anyway.
Hasn't the Knife always taken up an item slot? It does in both remakes of RE1 and RE2, plus RE7 at least.
Knives always took up a slot. The DS port of RE 1 made it its own button.
RE 4, RE 5 and the Rev games also made the knife a utility item with its own button than its own item slot.
